[Arguably relaxed and open doesn't happen very often, or for very long but if he was so more then it probably wouldn't have such an effect. That said, he's one of those guys that never catches himself a break very often at all.

He beams wider at Terra as she pays him the compliment about having dedicated some to the general security in the City. The salve to his ego feels nice, considering he'll never get such a comment from anywhere else; it's all just a part of his job.]

Thank you for saying. Seemed the right thing to do.

[Sephiroth rolls his head back against one shoulder, and then the other, stretching out some residual tension there before then shifting his whole frame forwards and slipping into the cool water of the pool. A released huff told of the temperature difference in the water, but it felt as nice around the rest of him as it had around his feet. He keeps to the edge of the pool in order to keep talking with Terra, the calm lapping of the water spreading his silver hair around behind him like it had a life of it's own.

In meantime, Spencer eyes Tempest as she flutters over and seems to make ready the tube on the water.]

Is it safe, Kupo? [One, two steps closer.] We won't just fall in?

[It almost seems as if this moogle...can't swim?]

[It is the right thing to do which is why Terra finds it so admirable. Sephiroth doesn't have to do what he does. He likes being a soldier, it's what he's used to, but that doesn't mean he has too.]

It is but I hope you can enjoy yourself too.

[They have right now to relax and while it might not be long, it's enough.]

You can hold onto my floaty.

[Tempest won't let Spencer drown or get hurt.]

[It's a question of never knowing an alternative, though, and so is often a concern that sits somewhere within the tangle of Sephiroth's thoughts. He's almost certain that it's impossible for him to have ended up any other way. Military work is where his comfort zone is and it's where he feels he can excel in his own way. Was that a bad thing? To be comfortable in the mold that others had made of him?

He sinks a little lower into the water. briefly sinking under the water before promptly bobbing back up. Necessary to help quickly regulate his core temperature...and it felt good besides. Flicking one side of his bangs out of his eyes, now that it clung to his face more, Sephiroth looks back up to Terra again. Flashing a quick smile.]

I'm getting used to delegating; the next couple of hours are all ours. Of course... that's unless an emergency crops up.

[It's not a perfect scenario, and something to his tone even sounds like it might be disappointed at that.]

O-ok kupo. Here goes-

[Spencer is right on the edge of the pool and reaches out for the -oops- his paw slides against the slippery material of the floating tube but somehow he doesn't fall in. A moment later, the small mog is in the air and slowly trying to land safely on the tube in the pool.]

[Terra watches him dunk beneath the cool water while keeping her perch on the side of the pool. She smiles down at him, leaning forward slightly to listen to the comforting timber of his words.]

I hope one doesn't.

[A soft laugh escapes her lips and she reaches out to push back the strand of silver sticking to his cheek.]

Wouldn't you want to pull your hair back in the water?

[Lest it get tangled as it floats around him.]

[Tempest winches when it looks like Spencer might duck beneath the waves. Wet wings are difficult to fly with, not impossible, but it makes things challenging. She uses her wings to steady the floating tube and then reaches a paw towards Spencer so she might guide him safely to its arms.]

[Sephiroth even moves closer to allow Terra to reach to push back that strand of his hair without having the risk of falling in. The cool water runs in small rivulets down over his face but it's very refreshing as opposed to irritating. He smiles again at Terra, cherishing every second he can get in her company and feeling something close-to pride swell in his chest at the clear indication she wanted him to stick around as much as possible too.

He ends up gripping the side of the pool near to Terra so that he doesn't have to tread water and potentially kick the side of the pool while doing so. His long silver hair does indeed spread out around and behind him which looks stunning in it's own right but she's right in that it's not very considerate for other people who might swim nearby. And the potential tangles later...]

It's nice to feel the water through it, but it would probably be best.

[Good thing long beach shorts have pockets; it doesn't take him long to fish out the simple black band and start gathering it all up at the back of his head.]

Oooh-

[Spencer manages to both take Tempest's paw and land without disturbing the floating tube too much. Once aboard, he promptly sits down to avoid any small disaster like toppling it from occurring.]

[Terra smiles at him and lets her eyes wander over the silver mass of hair, fanning like wings around him in the water. It really is beautiful and Terra is happy that he takes the time to take care of it instead of cutting it.]

I can put it up for you if you want.

[She wants to respect his personal space, more so while the pair of them are in a public setting, but she also wants to help.]

I was thinking of taking my hair clip out. [Terra doesn't often wear her hair loose but its a freeing and comfortable feeling when she does.

Tempest smiles at Spencer.] You did it! Where would you like to float to?

[She'll make sure that they're both safe.]

[It -is- proving difficult...having levered himself out of the water a little by his elbows resting now on the edge of the pool, in order to reach behind his own head. Certainly didn't think that through entirely. The smarter way would have been to come out of the water completely-]

Sure. Thank you.

[Handing Terra the simple black band Sephiroth turns so that she can reach, allowing himself to lean back a little against her leg on that side. It takes a lot of effort not to move his head in order to look back at her while answering.]

Why don't you?

[Spencer grins in response to Tempest. It really wasn't all that big of a deal. But now there were to float somewhere? Somewhere away from the edge of the pool? The nerd almost looks worried.]

H-how far, Kupo?

[Not that he doesn't trust Tempest, but there are all sorts of dangers out more towards the middle of the pool. Other Heroes. Children...]

[Terra takes the clip with a smile and gently gathers Sephiroth's hair together. Her fingers lace between the silky strands as she pulls the hair back, she doesn't try and pull in his bangs. His hair is heavy with the weight of the water but she quickly secures the long silvery waves so that they're out of the way.]

There.

[She tilts her head to look at him, her bright blue eyes shining. Her fingers reach up and pull the tight black band from her own pony tail releasing the shimmering curls of mint green over her shoulders and down her back.]

[Tempest points over to the high tower that the life guard sat on. Beneath it is a long shadow, reaching out over the pool.]

We can float in the shade, it'll be near the edge.

[She doesn't want Spencer to worry. He really is a sweet moogle.]

[Once she's done, then Sephiroth looks back over his shoulder first and then turns to face her, just in time for those curls to come crashing down all around her shoulders. Terra always did have such beautiful hair, in there is one thing he is good at helping her to maintain, it's the condition. Never mind that the products, sourced from Flence, were starting to escalate in price since the crystallization had claimed the area.

That long weekend they took away there, one time, still lives on in his memory though.]

Are you going to come in? [His eyes shone as he looked over her, sat on the edge still and apparently with no real whim to move. Not that he blames her, when was the last time either of them got to relax?]

[Spencer isn't a fan of Hypello; there's just something about them...but the fact that most of the lifeguards were of that race is a comfort, they are the best natural swimmers. He scrunches his nose up a little as Tempest points over there but soon after nods -he can feel the sun that's come out being absorbed already by his fur and imagines he'll be too warm again before long.]

Sounds good, Kupo!

[He eyes the water nearest the edge of the floaty and squats low -almost being a literal fur-ball- to reach out an inquisitive paw at the water. Spencer is keen to help propel the floaty over to the area that Tempest mentioned but he's a little apprehensive of getting his feet wet.]
