[At the call to abandon ship, Lucrecia quickly placed her Ancient notebook back in her satchel before moving to grab a spare rope from deck. Let the young escape with the ride, she thought, casting Flare one more time on the left arm.

Tying the rope to a part of the ship that still seemed stable enough, before throwing the other end off the side. She nodded once to Aang and Twilight, pair before tightly grabbing the rope with both hands and abandoning ship. It was a good idea at the time, to propel her way down the ship's hull until there was nothing left but air. At least until her left shoe's heel got caught on something, nearly sending her twirling in the air instead of a controlled descent.]

Got to... break free...!

[...she says as her kick then sends said shoe flying off, and with the momentum of the spin, directly at the core of the Ultima Weapon as she gripped onto the rope for dear life as she slid down its length to the knot tied at the bottom with a small "oomph". It was sadly not long enough to reach the ground on its own. $#!@.]

[Well, it wasn't the first time in his life Vincent felt that fate was cruel. Capricious too, as even with the clutter of the battlefield, he'd have to be blind to not notice her hair or lab coat. Not when it haunted his memories.

He's on the right side, and was readying a Charge shot on the right-arm, but with all the activity and the airship being abandoned... Change in plans.

Sprinting through the chaos, a smoke bomb helping bring him closer back to the left. Ceiling walking helping him sprint up the side of the Weapon, he's pushing through any damage taken from the electrical shocks to use the momentum and position to half jump and half dive.

Very careful of the claws and metal of the gauntlet as it wraps around Lucrecia's waist firmly. Pulling her with him in the controlled fall. Aiming haphazardly (for him) with his pistol, it's a good thing the Left-Arm is a large and obvious target and he has good timing, with Ninjutsu: Thundara fired at the Left arm.]

"Johnny!" Reno shouted as that golden figure wobbled in his vision. He split again into four then dashed to Johnny's side, leaving the three clones behind to deal with the Weapon. Even with Mega-Regen active, he's thinking emotionally and the moment Johnny falls, Reno's grabbing him and using Smoke Bomb once -- twice -- to get him out of the immediate vicinity.

"I need some help!" Too bad everyone was preparing for whatever attack the Weapon was surely going to use next. Things looked bad.

Everything here ran on crystals, right? Maybe even Ultima Weapon. Between Parkour and Ceiling Walking, one clone scrabbled up the Weapon and searched with Master Thief. With any luck, he could tamper with its power source. The other two clones continued to strike the left arm with Thundara.

Thanks to the mental strain of potentially losing Johnny, and the electrical discharges singing his clones, Reno just hit his Limit Break. He bit his lip. If Johnny was still alive, even barely, then this would be worth it.

"Pyramid!" He cast it on the half-incubus, immobilizing him in shining golden walls. Whatever attack would come next would be absorbed, saving Johnny's life. Knowing it could very well mean trading his life for his partner's, Reno simply gave the other man a thumb's up before running back into the fray.

Jack has been waiting to see whatever Chiaki's Limit Break was, and it doesn't disappoint. But it means his roommate is close to dying, so hey, Jack, better make this count. There's a quick bolt of fear down his spine, the realization that they might fail here, and I don't want to die again. But better him than Chiaki.

There is a very good chance that he is also going to get airship debris falling on him, thank you, Kidd, but Jack goes in for another Dragon Breath attack on the Left Side. Without Dragoon mastered, it's the best he's got.

All of a sudden, the decision to stay back is feeling like a smart one. Thank you to whoever's got Haste on the Heroes, because that's the only way Kaji can keep shooting Heavy Shot at his same target, the Right Side. It's got to be close to falling, right? They're winning this one. Whatever that attack is, they're going to prevent it.

Now there were many stupid things Minfilia has done in the past, both in Eorzea and this realm. Waking up after stasis and then deciding to go to battle with Crystal Knight equipped was very stupid of her. But she had to...had to do something after all this time. While most took to the front, she stayed back for support but now? Right when they were so close?

It wore her out no lie. She had to steady herself with her sword just so she could not fall down. But there was no way she could let this thing end hope for them all...for this world! How would Darling react? Or Alisaie and Ysayle and Mogleo?! The woman took a deep breath and raised her sword, rushing with her own abilities. First with a Thunder Slash to the Left Side of the WEAPON, not caring about her injuries at the moment. Then follows with Shock to the same target.

She just hopes they connect...

"Sheena!" Albel rushes to catch her, stumbling back with the force.

Syrreth made one last Assault against the Right Arm and roared as the electrical discharges hit. This wasn't enough... He needed to do more! And quickly! Just like Deadpool, he cloned himself again, not quite ready for his Limit Break (and reluctant to use it after the last time).

"Bestial Assault!" he roared as his three clones rushed forward again to cast Thundara, hitting every part of the Weapon without heed to the counterattacks and consequences. The dragon roared and charged at the Weapon as Albel's Bunny joined it in a massive assault. When the attack ends, only the dragon remains once more.

Choosing to attack instead of heal, at least this round, Albel -- the real one -- covered Sheena's body with his own and used Smoke Bomb to get some distance, hoping they weren't about to die. Hoping that the Mega-Regen would have some more time to work. If nothing else, hopefully he could shield her a little.

He really missed Fayt right about now. He was getting pretty ragged.

[ Tear quickly moves forward to Ace's side the instant she sees him start to fall, repressing a sigh of relief when she saw that he was still conscious, if barely.

Touching his shoulder gently, she positioned herself to partially shield him from whatever other attack may come their way. Maybe it was wiser to stay further back, but in no way was the melodist about to leave with her partner vulnerable.

Again she took advantage of her Dualcast ability to cast Cura on both Sheena and herself this time, before returning to the overlaid melodies of before. They needed those buffs now more than ever, so whatever the next attack was coming, she had to make sure she did all she could to survive it.

But even if she only just made it, there would still had one last move to play. ]

The onslaught to get the Left Arm down is successful! With all of these attacks, the left arm deactivates and no longer transfer energy to the core. The right side on its end still holds on, even though it barely has any life left in it. Attacks hitting multiple target are still only half as effective and even against the most powerful attacks, the Core seems incredibly resistant so long as even one arm is still around.

[The left side is inactive. It will no longer attack nor are there any electrical discharges left.
It regenerates 15% health per turn. It will return to normal once the regeneration process is complete if uninterrupted.]

[The energy ball that was charging up seemingly explodes, enveloping the entire area and every Hero of Light present within the vicinity in a blue light before unleashing an Ultima Spell on them all.]

The Ultima isn’t as powerful as it could be since the Left Arm was successfully brought down. The Rigth Arm is still up, but in too bad of a shape to transfer all of its energy to the core, lessening slightly the damage. And thus the casualties are as follow:

Dead (can be revived with Life or Phoenix Down): Saori, Twilight, Ramza, Ace, Vincent, Reno, Jack, Alice, Duster, Chrom, Deadpool and Pyrrha.
Grievous Wounds (can activate Limit Break): Ira, Ales, Mary, Lucrecia, Tazendra, Minfilia, Selphie, Ruby, Sephiroth, Rialynn, Albel, Levy and Bartz.
Minor Wounds: Barkeep, Sheena, Johnny, Rukia, Kaji, Sonic, Ib, Tear and Aang.
Safe : Chiaki, Tsubomi and Cloud.
Unharmed And With More Health Than Before The Attack: Jade, Sparks, K’pandolu.

All clones are wiped out with the spell as well. Ironically enough, the Ultima spell does also hit the Ultima WEAPON; it does no damage to the core and while it’s supposed to be resistant to it, the right arm is so damaged already that it goes down along with the spell. Meaning the core is exposed and vulnerable—For now. Attempts to hack in to stop the regeneration might still progress—Slowly but surely.

Last but not least, Reno’s attempt to steal from the WEAPON didn’t do anything to its energy core, but yielded a result before his untimely death. There are no more items to steal left:

Stolen: Diamond Crystal
A Crystal that can be used with the Calamity Simulation in the Mysidian Tower.
Uncrystallize a region that was once crystallized. One use only.

Ruby screamed in pain as she was caught off-guard by the Ultima attack. As she came to, the poor girl struggled to her feet, using Crescent Rose to get herself back on her feet. "P-Pyrrha? Are you okay?" she uttered. However, as she looked over, she noticed an object appearing in the dust - Pyrrha's form...

"P-Pyrrha...? No..." Ruby uttered, tears welling up as something snapped.

"PYRRHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Ruby's Limit Break, Semblance of Speed kicks in, leading to the young girl to slam into the core with a thunderous roar of speed, the power causing a gale force wind that will gladly pick up and slam any piece of debris into the core as she began slashing it with her scythe.

"GIVE ME BACK MY FRIEND! GIVE HER BACK!"

[Ruby's not alone in this reaction. The Pyramid helped Johnny survive the Ultima, but took Reno and half the party with it. At the end of his rope both mentally and emotionally, the Limit Break he had been desperately holding back finally takes over. A fierce, guttural roar comes from him as he darts off at what almost seems like super speed towards the Core. Stronger, faster and even more agile than before, nothing gets in his way, not even the debris flying from Ruby's attack. He tears into the arm with his bare hands with no regards to his own safety. His limit break has made him less vulnerable to attacks, but he was close to dead as it was. At this rate he might not last much longer, but he's not going without taking part of this damned machine with him.]

[There's the problem with this Job set. Thanks to Desperation, Sparks is not only alive, but practically good as new - at the sacrifice of half the Heroes to do it. But now his attack and defense have been multiplied at an enormous rate. He might not be able to resurrect anyone, so he has to take out this Core as fast as he can instead. Hopping back into his damaged Magitek Armor, he opts to use Shock on it instead of one of the armor abilities.]

[If Selphie could have screamed, she would've done so but the effect of the Ultima spell hitting her didn't give her the opportunity to react. She was engulfed in the searing, painful energy of the attack and fell to the muddy ground on the right side. Everything hurt. Every muscle, fibre and nerve in her body was screaming in agony as she slowly staggered back to her feet.

Wiping the blood from her eyes, Selphie's eyes went wide with shock at the carnage the spell had caused. She grit her teeth to keep from crying out as she felt her Limit Break coming back up again. There was nothing she could do for those who had died in the battle until they were revived but there was something she could do for those closest to her. She gripped her nunchaku tightly before going through an intricate series of motions before a green light began emitting from the SeeD.]

Don't... give up... Full... Cure!

[The healing magic will fully restore those closest to Selphie as well as herself. The mana that it uses however is exhausting but the perky brunette manages to stay on her feet.]

We're not done yet!

[So much for managing to get the latest refresh of ShinRa Guard up before the whole world appeared to be enveloped in blue; the Ultima spell cleanly ripped through and although Sephiroth had been able to carry on through electrical discharges this is something else.

At first he grits teeth against it but as the magic continues to damage more-]

A-rgh! [His battle stance shudders as he feels every fiber of his whole being tense painfully with his failing will to stay standing and as the spell recedes it's as if the magic itself had been holding him up. Legs collapse in on themselves and there is only a moment spare for him to punch his offhand forwards into the mud in order to stop him from falling flat.

At the same time, energy is sparked within him as his own limit break immediately reacts and spills over across the entire outline of his frame. Wavy energy, similar to the way his arm looked when he'd charged Deathblow earlier, smokes violently out from him as Sephiroth forces himself to look up. The core-

-both arms are down! It's now or never-

LIMIT BREAK: SUPERNOVA

He's from the floor back in as close to the core as he can get from the ground, slashes arching up powerfully into the exposed centre as another rush of energy sparks as the limit is released. The Weapon is likely too large for it to be thrown into the air but that doesn't stop Sephiroth seemingly dashing up near-vertically and through his target.

Supernova itself forming somewhere behind him, quickly swelling and growing exponentially until it seems to engulf him, coming down onto the Weapon from above and somewhere behind it.

Once he comes crashing down to the ground again, he could sure use a Cure from someone-]

[Ira grunts in pain as Ultima hits. He knows this pain far too well, is far too accustomed to it having been on the brink time and time again. Yet when the magic fades, he's on his hands and knees, trying to push himself up from the ground.]

No... Not yet.

[He promised to come back alive, damn it. He couldn't...fail to keep one of the few real promises he'd made. Yet as the pain was nearly too much, one look at Saori's body sent him off the edge. They may not have seen eye to eye all the time, he a troublemaker and she a former police officer, but she's a surrogate mother to him and Ven, and while he can't do anything to get her up on her feet again, there is one thing he can do. (And be grateful neither she nor Ven would see this.)

Blue and white played at his fingertips as the air around him began to sizzle and pop, whispers of the darkness inside ebbing its way through his armor as he used his sword to stand, ripping off a broken helm in the process. For a moment, someone could almost swear his eyes were gold as his feet left the ground, the replica taking sword in bot hands as the darkness lifted him up to initiate his Limit Break: Dark Aura.]

My turn!

[With that, he disappeared, first appearing behind theWeapon, then to it's right, to it's left, behind it to the left, behind it to the right, and finally in front of it, each time striking the core as if a man possessed. A growing smirk across his face as his blade sunk deep into the core again and again, before disappearing into the darkness itself until for a brief moment, he hovered in front of the Weapon itself for the final, downward strike down the front of the mechanical beast.]

Vanish.

[With that, he controlled falls, blade pointed down as he lands on his feet, jumping back as pillars of dark flame spew forth from the ground below and the limit break's effects on himself begin to wane. Luckily, the dark fires seem to miss any in range exempting their combined foe.]

[Having stood right next to Ultima WEAPON the entire time, the blast of the Ultima spell hits him full force. Ales is blown back from the explosion, his clock torn and revealing slivers of his bald blue head. He doesn't have any ears, but they're ringing.

Three times. Three times he had come face-first into an explosion. The first time, he fell out of the sky and woke up on Crystallis, unknowing whether he had lived or died. The second time, he crashed an airship into the enemies' killing himself and the crew aboard it. This, the third time, he survived at the cost of feeling the pain that such a violent experience grants.

And dear Polokus, it hurts.

Ales rolls over onto his front and pushes his arms against the soft ground. The Mega Regen helps reduce the worst of the pain, but he still feels like dying. Once in a sitting position, he flexes his fingers. Still working. That's what matters.

He crawls back closer to the WEAPON and covering himself in dirt in the process, manages to get within range to continue hacking.]

[ Another burst of light engulfs Ace's lifeless body as Last Breath activates, summoning a figure easily identifiable as the ice guardian, Shiva. There's no longer anything standing in the way of reaching the Weapon's center - extending one of her hands towards the machine, the Eidolon performs her signature Diamond Dust move. While it's unknown whether the core is susceptible to freezing, the ice damage dealt by a single snap of Shiva's fingers remains fairly powerful. ]

[Even inside the cockpit of the Magitek Armor, Cloud is forced to raise an arm to shroud himself from the light of Ultima. He can feel the full force of the attack shake the ground and nearly knock his mech over, but it stands against the attack. When it's all over he opens the hatch, watching with his own eyes as the smoke clears.

The ground is smoldering. Friends and allies lay prone or wounded or worse. Cloud's brow furrows and his lip quakes as he looks around and then up at the hulking presence before him. The Ultima WEAPON looms over this scene of destruction like an uncaring god and Cloud knows the name of the black heart at its core. There are many words he could use to describe her, but at this moment there is one that is ringing loud and clear in his mind.

Throwing off his helmet, Cloud stands up, bracing a foot on the edge of the Magitek Armor as he draws his gunblade. In his other hand, a tinsel trimmed red book manifests into existence in a flurry of snowflakes and the distant sound of jingling bells. He flips it open, a pop up moogle wearing a festive hat springs up in the middle, a present in one hand and a lump of coal in the other.]

Palitutu! I have here the All-Knowing List!! It tallies all your deeds and what you deserve to receive for them! PALITUTU! I DEEM YOU....NAUGHTY!

[And with that he leaps from the armor, driving his gunblade into the exposed core, pulling the trigger on it as he feels the impact!]

[And in the back, Jade is taking all this in while calmly chugging down ~~popcorn~~ an Ether to replenish his MP.

Say what you want about the Heroes' competence, they never let things get boring.]

Looks like we're still okay~ [Nevermind that a dozen Heroes are dead and another dozen are critically injured. Jade cheerfully tosses the empty Ether bottle over his shoulder and gets to work. Pyrrha and Ace are the first to get revived.]

Just as quickly as she hit the ground after that enormous explosion of light and sound, Pyrrha feels life flooding back into her body as she wakes up with a gasp. No time to question it, though - their enemy is still up. Kicking up to her feet, the young huntress sheathes her weapon and raises her hands instead, glowing with red light as she channels her semblance. After Mary's last attack there's plenty of metal lying around, after all, and it quickly lifts up and off the ground in a great tornado of razor sharp jagged blades. Concentrating as hard as she can, she directs the storm of metal with pinpoint accuracy toward the WEAPON's core, hoping to drive a victory home at last.

When Ultima went off Mary dove to cover Saori, but it clearly wasn't enough. She knew how all of this worked. She knew what the Jobs and the Crystals and everything else in this world did in their favor. She also knew it was something that couldn't be counted on, and that is where the seed of worry bloomed in her gut.

She cradled Saori's limp body as the two of them smoldered from the WEAPON's attack. She glowered up at the beast, knowing what she had to do. Gently setting Saori down, she then turned and stood to face the WEAPON. One hand went up to draw her hood from her pirate garb. The other flexed its wrist, the hidden blade springing out and back again.

"I'm takin' you out of this. Once and for all." She murmured to herself before taking three strides and seemingly vanished from the field.

[Tsubomi couldn't understand why her Onion Knoght job had Desperation as one of its choices, but she now understood why as she suddenly found herself boosted massively by the deaths of so many Heroes as she found her power increasing tremendously. She let out a pained roar as she pulled out her Gunblade.]

Palitutu! I HAVE HAD ENOUGH! CLIMHAZZARD!

[And with her increased strength, she let the Core have it!]

Gods, she is practically is in so much pain right now that she cannot focus on attacking the exposed core right now. Getting hit with the Ultima spell freaking hurt and Minfilia felt like she would collapse at any moment, her sword being slammed into the muddy dirt is the one thing keeping her from falling. She is still conscious therefore can do something at least. With shaky legs, the young Crystal Knight slowly stands up and stares at the WEAPON, feeling an intense emotion that she can recall after someone dear was taken from her as a child. She's furious without a doubt but unlike her twelve year old self, there is no urge to kill. She just wants this to stop.

Breathing deeply, Minfilia holds out her arms...and flings them to each of her sides, mimicking Y'shtola's movements when she would activate her shield. But that isn't the case now as her own Limit Break activates. With Seventh Dawn activated, the entire party gets a TEN SECOND INVINCIBILITY BUFF thanks to her hitting the target low health.

But she may need a healing spell because she may go down in one hit after this despite Desperation kicking in.

[She's still in shock at the impact with the ground and just who had grabbed her from the rope when everything goes blue and then white. Yet as it fades, she doesn't notice the agony she's in. She notices the limp arm beneath her, and that she no longer senses someone else's breath on the back of her neck. She tries to roll out from under the corpse of her ex boyfriend, but he's so heavy that she is currently trapped. Instead, she maneuvers to pull out a few bottles from her satchel, pulling out the computer first. Quickly from her position, she types one-handed and summons a Healing Program on Minfilia, before struggling once again to reach for something in her pack.]

No... Not again...

[She is no soldier, no Turk. This was not the field she ever studied or prepared for. Even the months fighting alongside others did not fully prepare her for this. In her grief, she activates her Limit Break: Calamitous Stagnation. The wave of energy from the attack hopefully inflicts Calamitous Ruin upon the Ultima Weapon, reducing action speed and acting as a poison. If it works, it will slow it down to grant the others time to recover and revive. If not, well... She tried.

Fighting back tears, she reaches into her satchel for a Phoenix Down and uses it on her savior before using another Healing Program on herself.]

[Sonic was blown away by the Ultima attack, however, he quickly righted himself, landed on his feet and charged at the core, unleashing another Excalibur Sonic attack on the core.]

I know you can hear us, but you're trying to block us out, but I'm going to talk anyway! I've figured you out - your plan, your reasons, why today! You learned about what we're all for and what we're supposed to do and it sent you on a spiral. You couldn't think but feel helpless at the idea that your world was feeding on other worlds. So, you decided to keep going! What's one or two worlds when yours is needed more? So, you started to bring us in, one by one, and hoped we would be stupid enough not to question things, that the more calmer people like Zelda would rein us in.

You wanted to kill us in the aftermath of the invasion - tired and not even mastered a few jobs. But, Kalki's time travel shenanigans messed that up. You panicked and threw a hissy fit - so you took the Weapon and ran off. And while you were hiding, you opted to drive us with fear, worry and belittlement! Threatening that town, threatening Aqures Ixen, having your Moogle lackey yell at us for having the Diamond Weapon - you wanted more advantages for this day!

And why today? Today's the last day of the Festival of Light. What better why to shatter the entire world's idea of the Heroes of Light than to do it at the end of their celebration!

Guess what, you little creep - today's not that day! We're going to win and we're going to make you a laughingstock! When they have their play next year, they're going to tell the story of how the Heroes of Light triumphed over the Ultima Weapon and while I might look like an alligator, you're going to be nothing but a footnote in our history!
