Characters: All the Heroes of Light and their Moogles.

When: August 03rd - August 30th

Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! Please refer to the OOC Post for questions and plotting.

"Just take the whole boxes," Jack answers to Chiaki. "I want to make sure we've got the hardware to run this thing." As he speaks, Jack is reaching over for a pen and paper and scribbles something quickly.

"Dear me,
You'll understand later.
Love, Jack."

Jack smiles and waves up at a certain point towards the ceiling that probably has a video camera, as he tapes the note to that bottom-right monitor on Tosh's desk that never works right.

"Grab what ya like, Marshall, the really could-end-the-world stuff is in lockdown."

Chiaki's search for data discs yields something far more interesting: a remote hacking tool. Much like a bug for a phone, it can create a direct link to a system...if it is physically placed on one of the computers that makes up a part of it.

Searching the med bay yields piles of labeled medications, and very advanced surgical tools. A combination laser scalpel and dermal binder, to cut somebody apart and put them back together without leaving a mark (useful for sneaking parasites out of people). Sprayable IVIG, human clotting factor. Delicate stuff, but direct application can mean the difference between somebody bleeding out or not (the closest the 21st century's got to a speed-heal).

When one of the people stays upon an innocuous bottle marked 'retcon,' Jack speaks up. "I'd- leave that. That stuff's trouble."

Although, a moment after he says that, he beats a retreat up a set of stairs towards what looks like an office. "I'll be right back, I think I've got stuff to carry this all..."

"It's a promise," Saori reassured Mary and gave her girlfriend a quick kiss.

"We probably should add a second promise to keep each other in check too. I didn't expect you to use the airship like that. Is everyone alright?"

[And here's Deadpool who has utterly not been paying attention to what's been going on, but curious as to his surroundings. Mostly the nameplates.]

"E. Brown"? "G. House"? "D. Duck"?

I have a feeling that there's something decidedly screwy here. And it's not me.

[Sonic stands there, blinking. He blinks once. Twice. There times.

Then, he just grins. He recognizes this place. Oh, does he recognize it! He turns to the others who have followed him.]

Hey, guys! Who wants to see a speed run?

[A little moogle flutters there, looking around. This world seems a bit odd, maybe even a little dangerous, but she wanted to go on an adventure even if it meant sneaking off while Mary was in another portal.

And she's not the sort of moogle to turn down a challenge.]

"Blackbeard? Wow!" The two exclaimed in awe. Sadly their knowledge would be very basic given they were still five years old. "What's it like to be a pirate?"

Yae spoke up again. "Mommy told me girls weren't allowed to do lots of things back then but that's just dumb! Girls can do anything they want too!"

"MARS?!" The two looked up at him from shock but Toshi spoke first.

"Wow, we've only been able to see it in the sky. I didn't know people lived up there!"

"I know, but please, don't risk your life like that again." He held her close, because at the moment, he'd been really worried he was going to lose her. He realized he didn't really know what he would do if he did lose her. Especially here and now.

[Ramza gives the Empress...er, Barkeep's wife...a low, formal bow. He wants to make a good impression.]

[The short but frustrated sigh is an indication of how rough this day has been. Even Bartz is feeling the strain.]

She's... the goddess that summoned a bunch of us to fight those Chaos guys. You don't remember any of that though.

This is the world I was in before I came to Crystallis. But Cosmos is gone. And the whole place is falling apart...

Hold on, I'm picking up something whiny and unimportant. ...It must've passed.

[His ears twitch a few times, and then he shakes his head. Oh, he's intent on being nice and listening to Akane, but has Santa earned that? Nope.]

I'll come with you. I'm more or less used to dangerous things.

Hold it. Am I supposed to believe some lady actually lived in this dump?

[It's so...empty? Are they going to starve to death?]

"Uh, they're not gonna explode on us if we don't fight each other to the death within some insane time limit or anything like that, right?" They already had enough troubles to deal with but this was too much.

At the mention of Thanatos, Saori had a puzzled look on her face. "Thanatos? What's he doing here and also what is this place exactly?"

[Saori walked a few steps ahead of them. As quiet as it was, she knew this place could always hold a nasty surprise at anytime. If there was anything that could pick up the smallest activity, it would be Saori's heightened senses.]

Well, all mythical creatures migrated with the gods and souls of the dead once Kuukan was created. Our predecessors realized co-existing with the living was too disastrous so that's why there's a separation between this world and the living.

Most of the residents here are more concerned about being eaten by the mononoke, the corrupted beings that break the taboo of soul consumption, and finding a way to be reborn into a better life. Plus, since we're still relatively close to the border so those who live here aren't as bad. A single hit or a warning shot would be enough to scare them off really. And actually, I actually had some of the members of the corps Kenichi and I run to do some recon a few days ago just to be sure.

I imagine the Roc parents won't be happy when they see their eggs are gone though. A chase will be inevitable but if we put a strong enough front, they'll be forced to cut their losses.

[Or at least that's what Saori hoped for.]

[He answers Santa as they both continue to help their wounded charges down the corridor. Sephiroth readjusts his balance as the wounded boy -even though they are much older than when he was when first put to war- shifts his weight upon realizing that the long silver haired man is a lot stronger than he looks. Custom job for the win, yet it's clear that this is not an all-win situation.]

-we don't know if there'll be time for a second trip.

[At least the auto-translate of the Crystal still works. But whether or not the soldiers they are helping, or the civilians around them, can understand Santa might be another thing though...]

"I'm not sure I wholly agree with that, either," He looked to Mary with a harder look. Not so much, so as to smack the idea away entirely, but the other threads of this web that were connected to Palitutu had to be given a thought. Maybe...he couldn't deny that temptation to just do away with her next opportunity they got would feel significantly more progressive than the games they end up always involved with. "It still seems to me that she's just another obstacle, a distraction, that we've to overcome...after all she's not really connected to all of this like we, or Kalki, or even Garland is."

Perhaps she's not so unlike another scientist he remembers; always striving to make their work seem the only voice in the room.

"I'm not entirely convinced that killing us is what Palitutu wants. Given that we all just will come back in the next cycle anyway it doesn't have much weight to it."

There are many things that Sephiroth had wanted to ask Kalki, but the riddle-answers she'd given were just as bad as the ignorance that Palitutu seemed to want to keep them wrapped in. So that they wouldn't interfere, like they'd proven they were so able to.

Sephiroth offered a smile, to Lydia in particular, if colored by the exhaustion that hadn't lifted yet. Yet more dried mud-dust was brushed down from the front of his combat pants. He didn't dare to shake his hair out, let alone succumb to the temptation to even run a hand back there to the root of the band that still held it all up. It might yet get worse, given as they've no intention why they've really been brought here.

[She doesn't bother hiding her concern, taking a step forward.]

She isn't…? That's… She wasn't at the battle, but… [If the others who weren't at the battle were brought here as well, but Terra isn't- it suggests there's something wrong. K'pandolu bites her lip, tail flicking unease.] Maybe it's a mistake. Maybe that power passed her by. We'll keep an eye out for her.

[Because she dearly hopes it isn't that Terra's fallen into stasis- surely there are too many in stasis already. And for those who Terra is close to, it's an awful thing- with no way to be sure until they see her, and who can say when that might be?]

[Saki returns the gesture, clearly encouraged by it. She's feeling much the better for seeing all the others around.]

It really was…! I thought we were going to all vanish for a moment there! [a delightful thought we're all glad she shared.]

[she reaches out to touch his shoulder for a moment, smile turning soft.] Thank you, Cloud. I think I needed to hear that.

[Selphie nodded about securing their home and would take things from there.]

Yeah, let's go!

[Her face then takes on a sheepish look again.]

Can we... stop by the Cafeteria first? I'm starving!

[As she checks on the rooms, Kidd lingers at the one belonging to Dr. Sumati. There have been a good many other names that they've run into in their travels that have reminded her of those from the East Indies, and they've all turned out to be important. This just might hold a clue as well considering this world didn't seem linked to any of the others in the Heroic company.

But she knows they're in danger the longer they stay, even if she's not quite sure from what. Those sirens can't mean anything good.]
