She helped the item vendor up on his feet before checking on Mordecai.
"Thank you for getting us out of there. Rest up while we can." She looked up at Ardyn as offered the Ether. The anger she felt towards him when he stopped her from attempting to make a Kalki-kabob softened. Instead she just gave him a nod before finally diverting her attention to the moogle she dragged back.
"I'm sorry, Bonnie, but we can't go back. I wasn't able to see if Mary and the others are..." She choked back the tears. Brigid flew in as soon as she heard word of the Heroes returning and found her hero with her hood drawn up. Quietly, she went over to Saori and gave her a hug. The Assassin just needed a minute to compose herself.
"I don't blame her for lashing out like that but it's not going to solve anything. Ramza was always the type to see the best out of others. Of course Kalki would use that to her advantage."
She lets go of both moogles to take out Garland's sheathed sword as proof of his demise. "I don't know if this sword's got anything special to it, but I'd like to hold onto it if no one objects."

As a result, finally -and perhaps one of the last- Sephiroth urges himself to push that sprint for the final stretch that would put him on the Enterprise. No matter how much his legs, or even his whole body, were burning from the exertion and would most likely punish him later. When close enough, Spencer was launched in the direction of the airship and he flew on ahead a few paces; just to make sure that the crew saw that another Hero was incoming.
Once aboard the deck, the seasoned Colonel gripped at a nearby railing -so he wouldn't be knocked over by the constant shaking- and began to slow his breathing in the same way an athlete might do after a marathon. Though Sephiroth's eyes appeared to be firmly only a few feet ahead of himself, pinned to the deck, he was indeed still listening to the comments and outrage being thrown around.
He didn't disagree particularly, with Sheena, but taking it out on Cid wasn't going to help at all. As for what they were going to do now; well, Sephiroth still couldn't speak past the steady gulps of air he was taking, but it seemed to him that take off was imminent.

She shouted defiantly at the platform to not give out on them as she jumped the last few feet into the portal. The darkness swirling around her for the briefest time was enough to drain the colour from her face as she eventually stumbled onto the deck of the Enterprise. She was noticeably shaking from the brief trip before moving out of the way. The adrenaline from the battle was starting to wear off as she loosened the belt around her shoulders and pulled Falchion off her back to set it on the ground. She sank next to the sword and shot a petrified look at the portal.
"Selphie," Jaelyn called out before rushing to her partners side. "Are you all right?!"
"I'll be fine," Selphie breathed out. "Yuri and Chrom were right behind me. C'mon, don't die in there. You're both needed, now more than ever."
She didn't ever dare to ask if everyone was all right; she already knew the answer.

"We'll be back, Kupo."
They then both hurried behind Natalia, following her to the ship. And on the ship, Cid was already under too much pressure with the earthquake to ease the tension with his reply. His reply to Sheena was was on par with hers as far as rage levels were concerned.
"The fuck are you talking about? Don't you think if I'd planned to screw you over I would have gone back to get my damn coffee rather than sit here and risk my ship and life for your asses? Throw yourself off the bridge and go yell at whoever's down there or shut your clapet, definitely and permanently!"
And as soon as this was said, a crystalline pillar suddenly erupted to the left of the ship, half as tall as the castle of Aqures Ixen. It would quickly become evident the airship tilting to the side along with the ground, as if this entire pan of earth threatened to crack away from the continent or slide into the ocean. Most of the crew fell onto the ground and Cid held onto the railing, leaving the wheel.
"Someone take the damn wheel." He then went to the speakers, calling out for anyone still not on the ship. "You've got one minute before we leave! That's sixty seconds so move your asses!"

"Hey, someone toss me Ales!" he called out. "He can pilot these things - I'll keep him balanced!"

Who's driving this thing, the Doctor? But he works his way back to Jade. He can see where he thinks this is going. "I dont think we've missed our chance for that." Time doesn't quite work like that. "The worst idea is that one of us tries to duplicate what Kalki is doing with one of the Black Crystals we already have. Can we at least agree nobody is going for that one? What we saw in those visions probably doesn't apply because we've conquered our Calamity selves. Again, not entirely a waste. But the will of the Calamity might still overpower us."
"We need more time." That's what this is all coming back to.

Ace's response was cut short by the airship's dramatic turn, causing him to instinctively tighten his grip around the girl as he lifted his feet off the floor. No point in relying on the force of gravity now.
Struggling with locating the Teensie among the confused crowd, he instead directed a quick Levitation spell at Cid, and then everyone else who might need it.

Buffeted as he was by the earthquake, Kenshin reached the Enterprise, seizing the railing and pulling himself over with one of the Heroes' help - but it was necessity alone that led him to follow the others in their escape. The great pillar that vaulted from the ground beside the ship struck him with a glare like the judgment of a divine being. Within, Kenshin was not so sure it was just like that. Not anymore.
He'd lived through war before. He'd pledged to stand with them, knowing some would not return. But to think...
As he held himself to the railing, Kenshin looked, again, at the abyss into which Miss Rialynn, Pyrrha, and the others had been thrown. And this abyss was so deep it did not even seem to stare back. Some of the hollowness in his eyes from that time in Rakinmura, that town of broken men and souls in despair, touched them now. He had to believe they were all right, that they were not yet beyond the reach of their help. He had to believe that...whatever force had overcome Ramza, it could be driven from the young Beoulve.
He had to.
It was just hard.
The hardest thing of a hard, hard day.

There was a quick survey of panic as the searched the chaos for her cousin, though the aeon seemed to have caught onto her intentions first, scooping the blonde up in her claws, after a quick dip down into what seemed like the bottomless chasm.
That was close.
More of a glider than a flyer, especially under so much weight, Valefor bat her wings heavily, moving to reach the Enterprise and deposit the two Spirans to safety.

"Thanks. It ain't nothin' to help out folks." With a tired flick of the thumb, he popped off the top and tipped it over so that the contents flowed into his mouth. That would teach him to overuse his magic.
No thought-out epiphany would be had, considering that the ship tilted to its side, sending the old man rolling across the deck. The railing stopped him and knocked the wind out of his gut.

She could still help. She could still be a hero, too. Just like Albel.
"Come on! Keep going!" She flitted from body to body, steadying people, handing back weapons. She could see the stairs shaking, saw Sephiroth and Spencer stumble -- !
"Sephiroth!" She charged into him, the impact of her tiny body helping to reorient him. She grabbed onto his long silver hair and rode the rest of the way out until she saw Zack. She recognized the chocobo as Cloud's.
Well, no time like the present to ride one of those, too. "Yah!" Mogdelina leaped from Sephiroth's head to Zack's back, scrambling up and taking the reins. She couldn't see past the chocobo's neck, but she was confident Zack knew the way back to the Enterprise.

Sohma practically fell upon Reno's body as Sheena and Cloud emerged from the portal of darkness. His relationship to the redhead had been... complicated. They'd had more than a rough start. But in the time they'd been forced to spend together... things had changed. Sohma still wouldn't say he liked Reno, but he'd learned about the other man, he'd grown to understand him. He respected him.
He patted at Reno with his tiny paws. "He's barely breathing, kupo!" With low health to begin with, that corridor had taken its toll on the Turk.

"Um, I'm starting to think we're running out of time here...!"
no subject
"Sorry Ales, but time isn't on our side!" She snatched up the Teensie like he was some sort of sports ball and continued her mad dash to the goal. Hopefully this distance is enough and she doesn't hurt him too much as she used Throw to send him flying towards the wheel and Sonic.
She didn't stop there since she learned a thing or two from Mary about airships. They were gonna need all the help they could get.
no subject
Sohma's cry for help interrupted that train of thought. Right, Jade was still on healing duty, wasn't he? With the help of Vanish, he was able to reach Reno without falling over and knelt by the Turk's side to cast Curaga. Hopefully this would all end soon, as he had very little magic left to spare...

The yelp of surprise as he was scooped up was followed by a scream of terrorh as he streaked across the remainder of the distance, with the steering wheel as his target. He was going to die. His body would crash his nose and he'd fall off the ship.
To prepare for his end, he held his hands out in front of him to cushion the collision inky to find himself gripping a handle of the steering wheel. It spun for half a revolution in the direction of a safe orientation.
Huh. Saori did it. If they got out of this alive, he'd thank her and kick her.
"Hold onto something!" He yelled, not sure if anyone would hear him. Using all his Teenaie strength and airship training, he pulled on the wheel to send the ship back into its original position. He would fly them back to Aqures Ixen if he had to.
no subject
"Thanks." He held onto Jade for a moment more as they rocked, not only to steady himself but to ground his healer. Looking for Johnny, he was relieved to see he was in good hands with Vincent.
With a grunt, he pushed himself to his feet. Things were still a little blurry as he blinked the drug out of his eyes. Ales... Reno struggled with unsteady gait across the ship, wishing he had his Ninja skills. But being a Turk meant he'd be able to help fly the ship if anything happened to Ales or Saori.
"Brace yerselves! Another one's comin', port side!"
Reno was getting flashbacks of the shaking pillar over Sector 7. Focusing on the others was helping. Saving people instead of leaving them behind... that counted as atonement, right? It was something.

Another pillar of crystal emerged, but this one looked seemingly short and was far away from them, in the middle of the sea that was coasting the imperial city. Should they be looking at the sea attentively however, the Heroes of Light would be able could see however is that this pillar didn't come alone as the shock from its eruption caused a gigantic wave to form, high and powerful enough to swallow the Airship without any efforts if it was to remain still.
Any Heroes of Light who haven't boarded the Enterprise or teleported yet are lost, not unlike those who fell into the Abyss.
They'll be back as soon as this thread is over and the next Endgame event started.
"Holy... Time isn't a luxury we have." Cid turned to Ales. "Now! Get us out of here!"
no subject
He slammed the lever up to cut off communication. The workers below did not need any more explanation that that if they wanted to escape the wave in time. The wheel slowed down. Ales took it once more and steered it away from the pillar. Eyeing the distant horizon that was his goal, he took a deep breath in preparation for the kick.
Without looking away, he addressed the people standing near him. "Warn me if you see any other pillars coming up," he muttered.
no subject
He looked around for the teen that was with him earlier. As long as she made through the teleporting with him, she should be fine.
"Man that was a close call," he sighed. He knew that everyone was already talking among themselves and there were angry heroes. He saw Selphie talking to her moogle so he was fine with that. He looked around for Rukia, Hisui and everyone else that he knew. The ship was being rocked back and forth so he had to ground himself and hold onto Chrom.
At the same time, Repede and Acrisius went for him and Chrom to make sure they were both okay and Repede dragged the prince to a safer area with his dog strength while Acrisuis buried himself in Yuri, worried for his life. The man couldn't help but pat his moogle and tell him that things were okay.
"GOT IT! Repede watch him!"
Yuri shouted when he heard Ale's speak. It was easy right, looking out for pillars?
no subject
"I have some potions and ethers and elixirs for anyone who needs them!" he said, flitting from person to person. Sheena had ordered him to take them to the bridge shortly after nearly hugging the little furball to death. Spotting Repede and Chrom, he flew over and placed one of the potions next to the dog. "For when he wakes up, kupo."
Afterward he would just flit from Hero to Hero, offering his potions and asking if they had seen Mogdelina and looking out for pillars at the same time.
no subject
"Aye, Captain!" Saori shouted out of habit and cast a Clone to help survey their surrounds for any more pillars. She wasn't able to see a pattern in the way the pillars were emerging. There had to be some sort of sign of where the pillar would show up.
Needless to say, she wasn't going to push their luck too much. Just to be safe, used another Inari's Ofuda to raise the entire party's luck.
no subject
Until they would reach the Desert of Roalie, of course. A crystalline pillar would suddenly emerge from the ground, faster and taller than any other-- And hit the airship's tail. Regardless of any efforts made, the Airship would thus crash into the desert.
All Heroes of Light, regardless of their location, lost consciousness.
(you can use this thread to continue playing up to the crash. there will be no more mod replies or plot-related happenings in this event)
