[Anyone who sees the smile on Selphie's face might think that the perky brunette is being flippant about this battle and that's okay with her. She opened the bag and let Rukia look inside the unusually crumpled bag to find one of her favourite treats inside. What is the treat Rukia?]

You said you liked this one before so I brought enough for two.

[Selphie has never felt this nervous about a fight in her life. She points over her shoulder toward some place a bit quieter.]

Can we... talk inside?

[She'll take her treat and pass the bag back to Selphie before heading toward the cabins below deck.]

Certainly. Lead the way.

[Even if Rukia is heading there first initially, she's sure Selphie will overtake her to pick out the room.]

Anytime! What're friends for?

[Selphie carefully pulls the treat out of the bag and takes a thoughtfully anxious nibble before following the Shinigami. It isn't long before Selphie enters the first empty cabin she finds and looks at Rukia with every bit of nervous energy she's storing inside. She sat on a nearby chair and balled her hands into fists.]

This shouldn't be this scary the second time around...

[Rukia sits with a natural grace of a noblewoman, though Selphie is likely more than accustomed to seeing her do this sort of thing around the house. She's examining her treat to figure out the best way to approach eating it without making a mess, but lifts her head with a furrowed brow at the comment.]

Second time? Please explain.

I guess I don't really talk about my world that much, huh?

[Selphie takes another bite of her treat (a cinnamon bun) and ponders how to explain the whole "I've saved the world before" spiel.]

My friends and I fought in a war to stop something called Time Compression. I guess because I didn't really know what a war was really like that I just went with the flow of things but this time, it feels different. This battle is necessary, I realize that but at the same time, I hope we can convince Garland to help us stop the Calamity without it becoming a huge fight like the battle against the WEAPON.

I don't know what's going to happen and it scares me more than anything.

[Rukia isn't entirely certain what to say. It sounds like Selphie just needs to talk more than seek words of wisdom. Even if that were the case, what could Rukia offer? This isn't a situation in which she has any more experience than the others.]

We can't predict the flow of battle. It's possible one of the other Heroes experienced the memories of a previous encounter with Garland, but if so, I was not present when this occurred.

[She holds her treat on her lap, not eating for now.]

We can only trust in our preparations, and the knowledge that we've done all we could. What comes next, we will face directly, and make our decisions from there.
