Grinding for mats: LFG 2Nin + 1any

Characters: MarKus, Yuffie, Rika, maybe Guy?
Where: Destination: Nibilian Mountains by Chocobo
When: January 13
Summary: MarKus (and associates and friends) are more or less bored with the available materials in Aquares Ixen.  They party up and head south, hoping to find better, more interesting materials that aren't simply iron and silver.  Why they didn't head west... Well that's not an adventure, is it?

MarKus, Kugami, and his chocobo Gundam await with a cart at the southern gates of Aquares Ixen, waiting for those who responded to his letter to arrive.  At the least he's waiting for Rika and Yuffie and promised not to leave without them, even if time is sort of 'of the essence' since he doesn't want to leave work alone to his employees for too long. He's the big money maker anyway, making all that dope custom gear and whatnot!  

As the others arrive, he briefs them on what the plan is.  "Alright, we're going to head south more or less along this line here." he points out on the map, running a line from the city to some mountains down south.  Pretty much ignoring or not aware of the Mithril Mines due west.  "Hopefully we can find something there, or at least along the way.

"Yes, Guy is. I don't know Rika as well, but she seems pretty cool. She wants as much as I do to get better metals. And I didn't get to check out Edsham before so we'll pass through and see what's up." More of an answer than Yuffie probably expected, but hopefully it would suffice for her to behave herself.

As they rode along, off in the distance was a coming mob of Goblins... nothing to worry about honestly but, there was a number of them. MarKus didn't want to bother and just move on but...

"Hey, do we bother with them or...?" he'd take group consensus to mow them down or not.

Guy had pulled back from the young woman when she leaned in close, eyes wide with his own discomfort. Whomever this girl was, he hoped that she wouldn't be any problem for him...

And he was quietly glad when MarKus answered in his stead. He wasn't certain that he could properly form words with her so close to him.

With a firm gesture he steered his Chocobo out of her range, just far enough to gve himself some breathing room.

"We're all here to explore and find things, aren't we? That's what really counts." He lifted a hand to shade his eyes from the sun as he moved his gaze to study the mob of Goblins.

"Are they going to attack us?" He asked, even though he expected the answer to be 'no'. "And do you think there's a chance we'd find anything different?"

It was another question he expected a negative responce to...which, itself, was his point.

Rika didn't know why the tempurature would change by location on this world, and while she would have liked to question it further, the subject had changed and then they were faced with more enemies. Rika was used to never fleeing from a battle unless it proved too difficult. Still, she would go with the decision of the rest of her party, though she could still speak her opinion on the potential battle. "There is always a chance that we could find something different. If not, we will have more trash knives to melt or sell. In addition, it may create safer roads for those native to these lands."

Yuffie was sad that Guy had moved away but she tucked that little annoyance away for later. They obviously had more pressing matters to deal with and while her first reaction is to run towards the horrid of creatures everyone else seemed unsure.

"Lets just decided and do something."

She gripped her shuriken and swung it in a circle before pointing at the fiends. "I think we could handle it and if not we hop back on the chocobo and run the hell away."

MarKus was a little surprised the girls were all for wrecking house. Markus took up his long-handled hammer; a nice mix from both of his original jobs. "Then get ready yall.". Gladly MarKus leads the charge against the goblins.

He didn't need a "skill" to ride by and swing the blunt edge against a goblin skull and send it rolling across the ground like a ball. And he didn't even play polo.

Sighing, Guy shook his head.

"So, it's whatever keep everyone happy, right. In that case..." he drew his blade and urged his chocobo to join in with the charge. "I'm not gonna let you guys have all the fun!"

Rika, whose chocobo decidedly did not want to join in the battle, ran in to help the rest of her party. They could have probably each handled the goblins themselves, but that wasn't the point of a party. Rika's daggers sliced through one of the nearest goblins still standing as easily as if she had used her claws. It was proof that despite no training with the weapons, she was still proficient in them due to the job given to her in this world.

She supposed it was fun. More, because she was fighting with others again.

Yuffie didn't even bother to make her chocobo move forward. She jumped from it's back making sure that it kept up with her as she through the large blade towards the golbins.

It spun through the air slicing one of the enemies before returning to her hand. She jumped backwards while catching the blade with a cocky smile.

"This works pretty well."

"Of course it does! I made it!" he brags. That was her fancy Christmas present after all, gold details along it and whatnot.

MarKus dismounts Gundam only to finally slip a hand into the pouches of one of the Goblins. Sure he got some extra coin, but he also got it's attention. "Quit staring." And it got a hammer to the face for his ugly glare.

Taking down monsters and stealing the loot from their fallen bodies-- it was a practice that always felt strange, but necessity was necessity and Guy was glad that some things never did change.

"Find anything good over there?" He called. Maybe they'd return to the city with something more interesting than beat up old blades.
