Grinding for mats: LFG 2Nin + 1any
Characters: MarKus, Yuffie, Rika, maybe Guy?
Where: Destination: Nibilian Mountains by Chocobo
When: January 13
Summary: MarKus (and associates and friends) are more or less bored with the available materials in Aquares Ixen. They party up and head south, hoping to find better, more interesting materials that aren't simply iron and silver. Why they didn't head west... Well that's not an adventure, is it?
Warning: None. If any come up, they will be marked accordingly.
MarKus, Kugami, and his chocobo Gundam await with a cart at the southern gates of Aquares Ixen, waiting for those who responded to his letter to arrive. At the least he's waiting for Rika and Yuffie and promised not to leave without them, even if time is sort of 'of the essence' since he doesn't want to leave work alone to his employees for too long. He's the big money maker anyway, making all that dope custom gear and whatnot!
As the others arrive, he briefs them on what the plan is. "Alright, we're going to head south more or less along this line here." he points out on the map, running a line from the city to some mountains down south. Pretty much ignoring or not aware of the Mithril Mines due west. "Hopefully we can find something there, or at least along the way.

Even as MarKus explained their route, she could barely keep the excitment in. They would be moving over nearly the entire continent! There had to be something new to see. And, of course, she was excited to be fighting the monsters with others again for the first time since she was separated from her last group.
"How long will our journey take?"

Guy hefted his gear over his shoulder and studied the map, noting the passage and any geographic markers that were along the way. There was a narrow pass that resembled a landbridge and an arid region that laid between them and their destination in the mountains toward the south-- Guy found himself glad that he had taken his time getting his few belongings in order and collecting supplies for the trip. It was going to be an interesting one, for sure.

"Yes but we are heading south, sides I brought a cloak. Oh! Shush!" Yuffie's voice echoed loudly though she hadn't really paid much attention to her potential audience until she got closer. She was riding a golden chocobo who had gotten attached to her after her trip with Ash and that group.
"Hey all! I'm here!" She waved happily with a smile only vaguely noting where they were going. Traveling with a lot of people for some good cause, it was like old times except that Mooshoo was there and she couldn't really steal everyone's stuff.
"So we can go now right?"
no subject
"And none of you be shy about scavenging from anything we run into either. Even if it's just a trash knife I can at least smelt it down into more materials." Seems like the guy had all business in mind.
---
After acquiring chocobos for Rika and Guy, they were southbound... and dear god was it a slow boring trek south too... Nothing but trash mobs with dinky little trinkets and junk weapons from the goblins. Hopefully the more south they went, the more exciting thigns would go.

After they got the chocobos, her new party were some of the first people in this world to see just how enthusiastic she can get. She wasn't able to gush about the big birds when she first saw MarKus' because they were already having a conversation, but now she definitely had the time to. It helped that she was not only seeing the chocobo even closer, but she was actually riding one! "Oh, they're so cute!" She placed a hand against the feathers at it's neck and lightly scratched the bird. The chocobo seemed to like it at least and Rika smiled brighter at that and scratched her mount some more.
When she got all her initial gushing over the chocobo out of her system, she brought up something that Yuffie said earlier. "Why would heading to the south affect what clothes you wear?"

He patted the large bird, grateful for it's assistance, while he listened MarKus and the girls chatter on. "It might get warmer as we go south," Guy chimed up in reply to Rika's question. "At least, it should."
Which was why he was glad he had dressed in layers. Regardless of how the weather went, layers was always a win-win.

She brought her chocobo up net to Guy and leaned forward looking up at him. He was pretty cute but she didn't remember him from around town. Clearly she has been losing her touch. "So who are you?" She had seen Rika before once or twice though she never gave the girl a formal introduction.
Yuffie turned back towards MarKus. "These are your friends right?" She wasn't sure if she wanted to trust them or see if she could steal their stuff but if they were MarKus's friends he would no doubt get angry at her for stealing their things.

As they rode along, off in the distance was a coming mob of Goblins... nothing to worry about honestly but, there was a number of them. MarKus didn't want to bother and just move on but...
"Hey, do we bother with them or...?" he'd take group consensus to mow them down or not.

And he was quietly glad when MarKus answered in his stead. He wasn't certain that he could properly form words with her so close to him.
With a firm gesture he steered his Chocobo out of her range, just far enough to gve himself some breathing room.
"We're all here to explore and find things, aren't we? That's what really counts." He lifted a hand to shade his eyes from the sun as he moved his gaze to study the mob of Goblins.
"Are they going to attack us?" He asked, even though he expected the answer to be 'no'. "And do you think there's a chance we'd find anything different?"
It was another question he expected a negative responce to...which, itself, was his point.

"Lets just decided and do something."
She gripped her shuriken and swung it in a circle before pointing at the fiends. "I think we could handle it and if not we hop back on the chocobo and run the hell away."

He didn't need a "skill" to ride by and swing the blunt edge against a goblin skull and send it rolling across the ground like a ball. And he didn't even play polo.

"So, it's whatever keep everyone happy, right. In that case..." he drew his blade and urged his chocobo to join in with the charge. "I'm not gonna let you guys have all the fun!"
no subject
She supposed it was fun. More, because she was fighting with others again.

It spun through the air slicing one of the enemies before returning to her hand. She jumped backwards while catching the blade with a cocky smile.
"This works pretty well."

MarKus dismounts Gundam only to finally slip a hand into the pouches of one of the Goblins. Sure he got some extra coin, but he also got it's attention. "Quit staring." And it got a hammer to the face for his ugly glare.
no subject
"Find anything good over there?" He called. Maybe they'd return to the city with something more interesting than beat up old blades.
