Monster hunting
Where: Calm Plains
When: February 3rd-7th
Summary: Monster catching silliness
Warnings: none
{The monster arena sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun, so Bartz is excited to contribute. Over the next week, he can be found on the calm plains, monster catching equipment in hand. He set off to do this on his own, but he'd certainly welcome any help people wanted to give. Feel free to run into him wandering around, or even join him against...}
[A Buer perhaps? Actually it looks like he's got this one well in hand. The creature is angrily flapping around him, firing it's confusion beam, but can't seem to land a hit.
A few days later, he can be found fighting a Mandragora. Actually, it looks like he could use a hand against this one. It's horrible scream seems to be really throwing him off.
And someone should definitely warn him about that dancing frog he's looking at. There's no way he should be taking on a Touch Me solo at his level. Although it's entirely possible he just plans on watching a dancing amphibian because he's bored.
Or maybe you just want to congratulate him on capturing a Geezard? Or not. Because let's be real, anyone could catch one of those things. At any rate, he's caught one and is dragging it back to the monster arena.]

'Small mercies, kupo.'
Bartz has a remarkable ability to find ways to enjoy the most unusual situations. Once he realizes that she joined him, he croaks at her cheerfully.
"Nice! I think that one was at least three feet."
Maybe? It's hard to measure distance when you're so much smaller than you're used to being. Either way, he's gonna try for even more distance next time.

Terra was enjoying being a frog. It was strange but being able to jump and bound forward with Bartz with her was a freeing experience. It was fun. She felt her heart swell and she'd laugh if she could. It was a feeling that she wasn't used to and she didn't know if it even had a name.
"That long?! How long will it take to jump back?" She felt very small.
no subject
"Don't worry about it! We'll get there eventually."
Boko jr. makes several chirping noises that are supposed to be encouraging. Kuposthenes is wondering how long it will take Bartz to realize that they could just ride the chocobo back into town. He's not terribly optimistic.

Terra wasn't paying mind to the moogles and had her focus on hopping. It was fun and she felt giddy as she followed close to Bartz. Everything was so much bigger and it was strange seeing it form the ground.
"As long as you don't jump a head of me." She laughed softly, or a frog equivalent of that.
no subject
'I was thrilled, kupo. I wanted nothing more than to aid in the exploits of a true hero. Unfortunately, kupo, I got him....'
Something he considers a grave mistake.
Meanwhile, Bartz chuckles.... or croaks as the case may be.
"Don't worry, Terra. I wouldn't leave you behind."
But just for fun he aims his next jump sideways, over her, and lands on her other side. He gives a little froggy wink for good measure.
Such a dork.no subject
Terra was trying not to have Bartz land on her as the two moogles talked. She jumped out of the way which did nothing to help since he was able to jump over her easily.
“Okay.”
She didn’t know what else to say. She was a frog and it was to strange to get used to but Bartz was smiling. Somehow, she could tell. With a little wiggle she jumps trying to go over Bartz just has he had but instead her flipper runs into his side and she lands on him.
“Bartz!”

'He's a fool, kupo. A hero should be dignified, honorable, and wise.'
"Oof!"
Bartz croaks in alarm as she lands on him. He tries to extricate himself but long spindly frog limbs are still awkward and confusing, so of course all he does is make it worse, and they wind up in a tangle of limbs.
"Ah, sorry!"
no subject
While they spoke Terra frantically tried to untangle herself from Bartz. She wasn't sure what had gone wrong and she felt silly for trying to do such a stunt.
"I'm so sorry"
He didn't have to apologize because it had been her fault.
"What if I pull here?" She tugged at her leg but they seemed to be a little to tangled for her to try and loosen. "What do we do!?"
no subject
"N-no, it's fine! Look, hold still, and I'll just..."
Very carefully, he untangles one leg at a time. It takes entirely more time than it ought to, but he gets the job done. Bartz is extremely grateful that his flustered blush is unlikely to be visible on frog skin.
"There. Are you okay?"
Kuposthenes watches this entire display with a a flat expression. The sarcasm in his tone is palpable.
'Ah, yes, kupo. Traits we need....'

Once Terra was free she took an unsteady hop away. Her head spinning slightly at the misstep. She wasn't used to feeling embarrassed but she felt butterflies fluttering in her stomach as she regained her senses.
"I'm really sorry. Are you okay? I mean.. I'm fine."
She shook her head as much as a frog can before hopping next to Bartz hoping it was enough for him to know that she was okay.
no subject
"Heheh, you don't need to worry about me! I'm always fine!"
If you count being a frog as 'fine.' But honestly right now he's just trying to hide his flustered embarrassment. Speaking of which, let's change the subject.
"Hey, look! I see some buildings! We must be near the city."
no subject
”Then we can change back!”
She glanced up at the moogles watching as Tempest fluttered around in cirlces. ”Would it be better if we went in and got it kupo? They might get stepped on.”
no subject
Honestly Bartz doesn't know what's wrong with his plan of hopping around and croaking loudly. That would clearly get the message across. Eventually. But whatever.
"Yeah, we'll be back to normal in no time! C'mon, let's go!"
Having their destination in sight renews his energy and he starts hopping toward the stores excitedly.
no subject
"Maybe I should run ahead and get to the shop." Though she wasn't the one with an abundance of money.
no subject
Kuposthenes flies over to Boko jr's saddle bag and rummages around, pulling out a sack of money. He tosses it to Tempest.
'There. That should cover it, kupo.'
Bartz is excited to have thier goal in sight, but will make sure not to get too far ahead of her. He hasn't been paying attention to the moogles either. Which might be a good thing since Kuposthenes has been doing nothing but complaining about him.
no subject
Terra was hopping frantically trying to keep up with Bartz. She felt tired but she didn't want that to stop her. "Bartz"
She watched Tempest zip away and felt worried.
no subject
"Terra? What's wrong?"
Then he notices Tempest flying away and he croaks curiously.
"Hey, where's she going?"
no subject
Terra stopped next to Bartz her eyes on the sky. It had taken a few long moments before she saw a little moogle fluttering back. She hadn't been gone more than five minutes or what felt like five minutes. As she approached she pulled out the two bottles.
no subject
"Here she comes. I wonder what she bought."
He's lucky that Kuposthenes doesn't speak frog. If he did, he'd probably hit him because seriously what else would she be buying?
no subject
She picked up the closest frog which happened to be Bartz and gently pushed the remedy to his lips so that he could drink. It was a little awkward but he could quickly feel it working.
no subject
He croaks in surprise when she picks him up, but quickly gets the idea and drinks the potion. From the faint glow, it seems to be working. She may want to put him down.
A few seconds later he's back to normal.
"Hey! It worked!"
He grins at Tempest.
"Thanks!"
no subject
"There. Kupo. It's no problem. I'm just happy you are okay. Kupo.
A faint glow surrounds Terra before Tempest gently sets her down. She stayed seated on the ground looking up at Tempest a little surprised. "Thank you." It was a weird change and it left her feeling a little odd.
no subject
"That was pretty weird, huh? Those frogs are some tough opponents."
Kuposthenes is having none of that.
'Only for fools, kupo, who wander about unprepared and unawares.'
Bartz does at least look slightly chagrined.
"Aw, cut me a break will you? Everything worked out okay. And anyway, it wasn't all bad. Hopping around like that was kinda fun. Right, Terra?"
no subject
"Yes. I had fun." She flushed slightly without realizing the added warmth in her cheeks.
"Let's not do it again though, kupo." Tempest rushed to Terra's side hugging her hero while burying her face into Terra's side. Terra smiled down at Tempest gently wrapping an arm around the moogle.
"I won't. I'm sorry I worried you." She looked back up at Bartz. "Thank you Bartz."
no subject
“I dunno why you'd want to thank me, but I'm glad you had fun.”
He likes seeing her smile. She should do it more. But, with a glance at Tempest he quickly adds..
“Uh, next time though, we'll have to find a safer way to have fun. Or at least remember to bring potions.”
