GET BACK TO WORK!
Characters: MarKus and OPEN (mostly newbies?)
Where: Aqures Ixen - Haley's Anvil
When: March 7th - 11th
Summary: MarKus starts hammering out gear for the rescued arrivals. Upon request, of course!
Warning: Foul language?

After having that slacker Kugami put up new advertisements, MarKus has finally put himself back to work, at the forge where he belongs. He'll be on break from adventuring for a while, but there was a hefty handful of people who were going to be in need of gear that fit them, since they surely didn't start with a damn thing being imprisoned right away. Surely someone needed that special sword or arm guard just to feel a little more comfortable with things.
And you know, defending oneself from the creatures beyond the city walls, though by now they'd probably chumps after everyone's recent excursion. In the meantime, however, he already had someone's armor to check over, having left his employees to manage things, so he's got his nose buried in Sephiroth's armor

Fortunately it's hiding his own awe staring up at the huge woman. "Devon?" he squints through the eyeslit before raising it up and looking better at her. "Oh, no, sorry. Your hair's a lot longer... and you look a lot softer. Prettier even." He pauses a moment and just looks up at her once again, this time trying to do some calculations without measurements.
"Anyway, I can't say I've seen anyone as tall as you before here. The shops probably don't carry anything your size? Well you're at the right place! What can the Ace Mechanic do for ya!"

"Sir?" ... and tilts her head, looking at her long braid which she rubs in nervousness, particularly with the 'prettier even' that she's still unused to. "I don't think we've met. I'm Daisy. SPARTAN-023."
She looks back to him, not up as MarKus was towered by over a foot in height, "and... that's the thing. I need new armor." ... "And a rifle. And the longest sword you have."
no subject
"Yeah, you're not going to buy armor as big as you are, but you are in luck... I just got done trying something new and... you might have the right build for it. However, I can't help you with the gun or sword. Unfortunately nobody will share certain secrets with me so best I can do is modify an existing gun. The sword..." he pauses, and walks away, rather than grabbing a weapon, he grabs a length of twine.
"Here, hold this straight out." Once she complies, he's marking off the end of it on the floor and taking it elsewhere.
"I do not yet have a sword that long. But I say YET!" he raises his finger in defiance. "This though is the biggest sword I have." he hefts a broadsword on display down, the blade about three feet long and wide, but by what he measured, from her hand to the floor was six feet."

While the answer about her height being troublesome for new armors, she perks her head up at the proposal. "Something new, sir?" Apparently it wouldn't be only John who would get to try new armor this time.
She holds the twine, looks down, honestly amazed with the 'yet' in spite of her calm demeanor, and looking at the broadsword offered there... Deciding it was way too small."
"I... have learned how to use a two-handed sword in another place. Hundred and fifty centimeters long." She recalls old renaissance lessons about warfare technology changing things, and arm swords with shields and chainmails being replaced by full-body armor and heavy swords wielded with both hands in the renaissance.
If there was something that combined both a firearm and a sword that size with devastating effect, she was eager to try it.
"But I can go bigger."

Sadly, in this life, in this world, no such technology exists to give her a gun that was effective and combining it with a sword that mattered. Or, at least it was nothing he could create with what knowledge was restricted from him.
"Well, if you're talking about the whole size of the sword, 6 feet is pretty big, but... the way I measured your height just now... I could get you a six foot blade. Probably about two feet of handle just to have a good grip on it. It won't be anything fancy or flashy, but, if you want a sword that big, I'm sure you don't care about gold and jewels being the last thing a goblin sees when you crush it's skull." Yeah, that broadsword was lame, but it was hers, for now, until he had something hammered out.
"Though, do you care if it's sharp?" Imagine not even having a sharp edge, just a slab of metal. Weight along, and her force could cut many in half.
no subject
"Preferably." Regarding the sharpness. "I'm not big on decoration. But if it's a long sword that I can move around quickly enough to get rid of multiple enemies in personal duels, all the better."
And strangely, she felt herself knowing even more about wielding swords right now.
...
"A dagger could also come in handy." For both a secondary, close quarters weapon, and an all-purpose cooking and eating tool. "When would it all be ready?"
no subject
"I don't have enough for leggings or the like, but I will soon, if you can wait for it? Well... you're already waiting for the sword too, so a little longer won't hurt, right?"
Going off he brings to her a short sword. For her, it's probably more akin to a dagger than anything.

MJOLNIR... Daisy sighed in its memory.
"I... think so, sir. I'll need to make a little research on the meantime." She grabbed the short sword, looking at it for a moment, thinking of Lina. "What should I expect from it? ... should I expect problems with the kickback of the weapon?"
Magitek Knight... Gunblades... the concept continued to puzzled her. The again, laws of physics had been a joke back in Luceti...
