GET BACK TO WORK!
Characters: MarKus and OPEN (mostly newbies?)
Where: Aqures Ixen - Haley's Anvil
When: March 7th - 11th
Summary: MarKus starts hammering out gear for the rescued arrivals. Upon request, of course!
Warning: Foul language?

After having that slacker Kugami put up new advertisements, MarKus has finally put himself back to work, at the forge where he belongs. He'll be on break from adventuring for a while, but there was a hefty handful of people who were going to be in need of gear that fit them, since they surely didn't start with a damn thing being imprisoned right away. Surely someone needed that special sword or arm guard just to feel a little more comfortable with things.
And you know, defending oneself from the creatures beyond the city walls, though by now they'd probably chumps after everyone's recent excursion. In the meantime, however, he already had someone's armor to check over, having left his employees to manage things, so he's got his nose buried in Sephiroth's armor

Saito's words aside, he will not use a sword to kill. Monsters might need the edge, but against a person, no.
Which was why a little tired and slightly annoyed Kenshin walked into the store and then paused.
"Ano..." Maybe that MarKus guy was busy.

As Kenshin enters, a bandana-wearing Moogle picks himself up and flutters off, getting the master smith's attention to bring him forth. A man, kind of a boy, but a man wearing a steel face plate walks out to greet the customer, but as the plate is lifted to greet him, he promptly throws it aside and gawks.
"Ryotaro!?"
It's Kenshin's face... to MarKus it bears a striking resemblance to someone he seems to know, and someone he's very excited to see!

that wasn't the kind of greeting he was expecting. He wasn't sure what kind of greeting he did expect, but this guy acted like he knew him and was even calling him by name. It was the wrong name, and Kenshin felt a little bad as he shook his head, raising his hands up.
"Aa, no, this one is a simple rurouni. One is sorry if one is not your friend, that I am."

Cuz she has something for him!
"MarKus?"
Zelda called out through the shop hoping to pull his attention away from his work for a brief moment.
Re: Cuz she has something for him!
A Moogle, instead, goes over to the back to drag MarKus out. After a while he arrives, lifting the face mask up to properly greet the woman.
"Hey Zelda! What's up!"

"I had promised you this so I thought to bring it by now."

very late to the party, sorry...
So in the end, Manami rolled into this weapon shop, following the (sternly worded) advice that he should take advantage of the offer for a new weapon.
Once he walked in, he was kind of glad he came. He was awed by the weapons on display. Maybe he'll just window shop for a while~ or take a closer peek at what's going on behind the counter?
With me there is no "late"
Or they were unsellable rejects made during experiments.
Another Moogle fluttered past Manami, and shortly after it had disappeared from sight, the rhythmic hammering in the smithy lessened, and approached a man behind a metal mask.
"Yo"
Perfect o7
Whoa~!
"Yo!" He's always wanted to try greeting someone with 'yo'. Feels so ...foreign.
And he's completely forgotten what comes next. What is he doing again? ...Oh, yah!
"A lance, please!" (Don't make it sound like you're ordering a burger, Manami.)

"Good morning, MarKus. How fares?"

"You never come see me at work... what's up? Did you break it?" He wouldn't mind putting a new blade in there, but he, especially as of recently, was very familiar with preserving personal weapons the way they were, not the way they could be improved.

She had recently come across a second hidden blade, but she wasn't quite ready to talk about it just yet. She recognized who it belonged to.

But what came out to greet him was a smaller, hell, 'boy' by comparison, face hidden by a slab of curved steel.
"Yeah, I know some shit about guns. Watchu need?" And who the hell're you to be intimidating my staff?

Gaston put his musket down on the countertop with a loud thud, mostly from his strength than any mishandling of the weapon. Proud as he was he still knew what he was doing. "I found my gun in the hands of my captors when I was making my way to this city but they must have done something to it. The sighting is completely off!"
What Gaston didn't completely understand was that while he was an expert marksman at home, being a Dragoon and Beastmaster in this world had a detrimental effect on what should have been something he could do with his eyes shut.

She wanted to explore.
It was dangerous out there. Well, she wouldn't go alone. But she couldn't always depend on someone else to protect her. It wasn't fair to them, and Lydia wasn't exactly one to be 'ye olde damsel in distress' either. She saw the flyer, and had kept it. She'd...go talk to the staff there. See what they said.
And then maybe, she'd ask for advice from others to help her get properly what she'd need.
Heading into the shop, admittedly a bit late in the afternoon as it had been on the tail end of her errands. "Um...hello?" Looking around for anyone who didn't seem TOO busy.

It's not that girls don't need bladed weapons, it's just not common. At least at a glance he can't tell what she'd need before hand. It certainly isn't going to be a claymore!
Eventually he shifts the mask up over his head. "Watcha need, missy?"

A gigantic girl, seven feet tall, looks around the store while holding onto her robe. For the moment weaponless, and while she can, focused on what she needs. The first thing she does upon entering is looking around.
Particularly, for examples of armor as heavy as the MJOLNIR had been, and for swords that would put renaissance-era long claymores to shame.

Fortunately it's hiding his own awe staring up at the huge woman. "Devon?" he squints through the eyeslit before raising it up and looking better at her. "Oh, no, sorry. Your hair's a lot longer... and you look a lot softer. Prettier even." He pauses a moment and just looks up at her once again, this time trying to do some calculations without measurements.
"Anyway, I can't say I've seen anyone as tall as you before here. The shops probably don't carry anything your size? Well you're at the right place! What can the Ace Mechanic do for ya!"
no subject
"Sir?" ... and tilts her head, looking at her long braid which she rubs in nervousness, particularly with the 'prettier even' that she's still unused to. "I don't think we've met. I'm Daisy. SPARTAN-023."
She looks back to him, not up as MarKus was towered by over a foot in height, "and... that's the thing. I need new armor." ... "And a rifle. And the longest sword you have."

"Yo," he greeted as soon as he entered the place and looked around for the guy in charge.

"Yo." he gets a look up and down before the man pushes the metal plate over his face back. "Watchu need my man?" He was a pretty punky, stylish looking fellow.

After a few moments of taking the location in and memorizing where it was located in this world, her sing song voice, greeted the owner if she caught sight of him.
"Hello~"
Is perfectly fine!
"Oh, hello again Miss Selen. What can I do for you today?"
