Intro Log || The City That Never Sleeps

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Trano Golsaucia, Aqures Ixen, Airships.
When: The 5th of May. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in the Temple of Wind next to Trano Golsaucia, and they are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within a split second, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had are now gone. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you...

And at this very moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by a gentle breeze. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call once more, but is soon replaced by a much less graceful "Wake up, Kupo!" Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally bring you back to your senses. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Wind, in the Temple located right outside of a city called Trano Golsaucia. At this point, you may realize the breeze originates from the massive green Crystal floating nearby. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding.

Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures. They look pretty tired, but they will be more than happy to tell you everything you want to know. They shall tell you about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light and about what awaits you. Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

There are quite a few people around you as well. For the most part, they are people like you-- All clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. There are also some other Humans, Tarutaru and Hypello in the room, but unlike you they don't have a Crystal, nor do they have a Moogle following them. If addressed, they will say they are the Guardians of the Crystal of Wind and will confirm everything the Moogle said. They will reveal they found you unconscious around the Crystal a couples hours ago, and immediately contacted the Moogles and the government of Aqures Ixen.

If asked about it, both the Moogles and Guardians will explain that Heroes of Light have already appeared in this world within the past year, and they all are in a city called Aqures Ixen. It's the first time Heroes have appeared in this temple. In fact, you probably should go to Aqures Ixen as well. The Moogle will tell you this is where your house is and where the other Heroes will be able to help you. Thankfully, should you decide to take your sweet time to get there, the other Heroes may just come to you.

The Other Heroes
— Anytime —
And indeed, thanks to the efficiency of Mognet and Shoopuf Airline it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around. You may meet them in Trano Golsaucia or in Aqures Ixen, or maybe even in one of the Airships going back and forth between the two cities. They are those who arrived in this world months ago and they have gone through quite a lot. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you there were other Heroes of Light in this world. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you how they recklessly attacked the Heran Empire to free their friends a few months ago. And most importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a complete and utter disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

Trano Golsaucia
— Anytime —
Should you leave the Temple of Wind and head south, you will reach Trano Golsaucia. It's a gigantic city covered with snow-- To make it simple, this city is a gigantic amusement park. It is the most popular place in this world and of course, there are plenty of people all around. Thankfully, other Heroes of Light are easy to spot: they are the only ones who are followed by a Moogle and holding a Crystal.

And there is quite a lot to be done in this city. Maybe you could stop by the Triple Triad Center to begin a successful career in card games, or maybe you could buy a ticket at the Blitzball Stadium to support your favorite team. If you're the kind of person who relies on luck, you may have more fun gambling in the Casino or betting on your favorite Chocobo in the Chocobo Races. If you're more of a person who enjoys simpler games, maybe you could try one of the numerous carnival-style mini-games found in the city, such as the shooting stand or the treasure chest game.

Of course, all of this requires money and odds are that you may not have a single Gil yet. If your Moogle is nice though, maybe you could ask him or her to loan you some Gil...

Airships
— Every Four Hours —
Upon reaching Trano Golsaucia, you will also have the right to board an Airship. Exceptionally, there is an Airship available every four hours, all because of your arrival so that Heroes of Light can meet each other and go to Aqures Ixen with ease.

The flight itself should take between four to six hours as it will travel from one city to the other on route. This is nothing special for the denizens of this world, but for you it may be quite the experience if you never boarded a plane or any flying contraptions before. The service is nothing special, but there are some light refreshments offered free of charge. Note that most of the employees on Airships are Hypello.

Aqures Ixen
— After an Airship Trip —
Upon arriving in Aqures Ixen, the first thing you will see is the Airship Port in the 12th District. Following that, no doubt your eyes will find the Castle of Aqures Ixen, a classic yet refined structure standing in the city. From there on, characters are free to visit the city-- There are no attractions in this city, but there are scientific buildings, another Blitzball Stadium and even an Observatory serving as base for the Heroes of Light. If you'd like more details regarding all that is available in Aqures Ixen, you can find everything here!

Or maybe -and perhaps inevitably!- you could visit your new house in the 11th or 14th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. It's been a long day, so you could use some sleep. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with...

Olivier nods and shakes hands with her.

"There are many of us here. Most won't mind if you have questions. We're even having a meeting sometime soon with the people in charge here. I'm working on forming a sparring and training group to help those who don't have the skills they need fr self defense or fighting. We meet at the observatory, which some people have turned into a base of sorts."

[Cloud's answer to the hawker is cut off as the moogle rushes up to the counter. Looking back between the eager ball of fluff and his accompanying hero, he knows for a fact this moogle has no chance of winning.

On the other hand, if he loses he would still get a smaller consolation prize.]

The moogle can have my second round if he wants it.

[He flashed a smile at the new girl.]

Hi. You're one of the new Heroes, right?

[Cloud gives her another smile and a nod...and then turns to face reality again.

Screwing his face and his courage all at once, he stiffly walks towards the airship, trying not to think of how sick he's likely to be in a little while.]

"Good to meet you Ven." Cloud gave the moogle a friendly nod before turning his attention back to the new Hero and his questions.

"Not for the whole game. There's two halves. Some of the players have breathing gear but some of the best players can actually hold their breath the whole time. One of the other heroes, Yuna...well one of the Yuna's, they have Blitzball in her world too and she's decided to be a player here. She's one of the players who can hold her breath if you wanted to learn more about that."

Ah.

On the plus side, one of his roommates was apparently female. On the minus side, one of his roommates was apparently female. It could be worse, he supposed; he could be roomed with Anise or Natalia, and she was pretty cute besides, even if she looked like she could easily be one of his own family members.

Hopefully they weren't all female.

"Nice to meet you, miss Aino. There's supposed to be a couple other people staying here...have they shown up yet or are we the only ones so far?"

Albel stopped short and looked up when he heard that infuriating yet oh-so-welcome voice, his own little ball of fur bumping into the back of his leg in her haste to keep up with his strides.

"Leingod." Albel's eyes narrowed as he stared down the younger man. Fayt was here. At the same time... Fayt was here. He wouldn't admit it, but Albel was actually relieved. If Fayt was here, it meant someone else made it out of the void -- and maybe the others did, too. The more of them that were still left, the greater chance there might be to get home and save their own world.

After a moment of glowering, Albel's face broke into a smirk. "So they brought you here -- did they make a mistake?"

"I heard about this observatory," Robin says. She nods, while she watches the land rush by below her. "It's a good idea. I shudder to think about someone without experience in combat coming into a situation that might require it. I'll see what I can do to help. Training is important, too, for experienced or novice troops."

She tilts her head, looking sideways at Olivier. "I'm a tactician by trade."

Much as MarKus didn't know Guy had gone or come back, Guy...had no idea who MarKus even was. And here he was greeting Guy as a friend.

"I'm...not sure how exactly to answer that," he says after a few seconds of debating whether he should pretend to know the guy or not. "I woke up here, but before that is a bit fuzzy."

He was back on Auldrant, or so he thought. He wasn't so sure anymore.

"I hate to say it, but you'll have to tell me who you are again, you're not familiar at all."

Robin's eyes screwed up a little at the casual swearing. Such things weren't done in Ylisse! But, when in a strange land, one should honor the customs, she supposed. Or, at least, not correct them.

"I don't know," she said. "It seems like a set of rules that describes a situation that exists. Most soldiers have a clearly defined role. They're cavalry or heavy infantry or skirmishers..." She frowned, before she shook her head. "I can see the utility. Combining the right sets of Jobs will be necessary, though, to achieve victory--make certain people are supporting themselves. But... oh, I'm rambling."

She sighed, then she put her hands on the railing, and considered. "I used a sword back home," she said. "I suppose I should start there."

Surprise, he's out of stasis! Or not really, there's still a Guy in stasis in the hospital in addition to the Guy standing in front of Jade. That will probably be weird later.

The situation at that moment was only slightly weird.

And slightly startling; it was good for both of them that Guy was not as reactive when startled as when triggered by his phobia. Still, he does start, managing to not go over the side of the ship but bashing one knee hard against the railing.

"Gaah..w-what?! What happene--Jade? C'mon, what was that for?"

"Seeing as I've been here for a few months now, I kind of doubt it." The response is deadpan, but there's a smile on his face as he finally comes to a stop near Albel, crossing his arms as he looks him over. Huh, that outfit looked like....

"They didn't make any mistakes kupopo!" Mogrika seems personally insulted by the insinuation, from the way her fur fluffs up a bit. Her charge was not a fake!

"It's alright, Mogrika....." He glances from her, back to Albel with a growing grin. "You're late, you know. Nel and I have been here for a while now." And Ameena..... but Albel had never met her.

Albel's head snapped up and his red eyes glared. Who was bothering him?

Oh. He blinked with some surprise at the kind offer and softened somewhat, although it still wasn't quite friendly. Modelina looked between the two humans then gave Albel's leg a little smack.

"Thank you," he replied gruffly after a quick scowl to his moogle. He accepted the water and took a slow sip. It was... different... but still good. Though he supposed he couldn't expect anything else, it was water from a whole different world.

"Are you also newly arrived?" he asked.

"Hmph, your furball is rather loud," Albel commented, to which Mogdelina huffed, "Moogles, kupo." He ignored her.

Instead, he focused on Fayt's rebuttal. "A few months?" The warrior's brow furrowed, plainly confused. "But we'd just left Sphere. How could you have been here for months?"

"I'm not a furball, kupo!!" and to punctuate her point, that 'furball' sets about kicking Albel in the shin midair. Not that it's a very strong kick.

"Just.... left Sphere?" ....Oh. This really isn't as surprising as it could have been, considering.

"I'm fine!" Albel growled out, glaring up at the stranger. Of course, his statement was completely undercut by the hissing in his voice and the shiver that followed.

"But you've been complaining about the cold the whole walk here!" chirped his moogle indignantly, planting little paws on her hips.

"Quiet, you!" Albel's ears burned pink with the cold air and his embarrassment.

Yeah, Celes is usually with me. He went home a little early today.

[Yuna's smile was a little nervous as she glanced around the area. As if expecting Celes to come flying back. They didn't fight but it is safe to say that the little moogle wasn't happy.]

You look like you've already gotten used to being here. Is jumping worlds normal?

[Yuna laughs holding Celes in her arms in a similar fashion.]

I think they both need lessons then. I'm Yuna.

[Her head tilts to the side while her gaze shifts back to the games.]

Would you like to try a few? I can keep the prizes if you don't want to.

"Tch." Albel glanced down. Had that thing tried to kick him? He barely felt it. He shook his leg to wave it off.

"Yes -- we retrieved Aquaria's sacred orb, and..." Albel stared back at Fayt, trying to understand. And purposely leaving out the part about going to Airyglyph for the Crimson Scourge. He didn't really want to relive that. "We were going to use it to defeat those Proclaimers, and the Owner that Blair woman kept talking about. We were just there, before... this."

Before he'd woken up here.

Kenshin blink and fell back at the child's sudden shout and then he remained blinking as the boy talked to his frong and then grabbed onto his hand and tugged for the door. Now he wasn't someone that could easily be pushed around by someone he outweighed, but Kenshin had always cultivated the image of a bumbling fool. Even if he is called a Hero in this place, he kept that image up, so when the boy tugged on his hand, he sort of fell a little while making that queer little 'orororor' sound under his breath.

"Okay, inside for food, don't tug so hard!"

Mogrika huffs but flutters away, deciding to leave the big mean weirdo alone for now.

".....Right. Alright, this is probably going to sound a little crazy--" Though considering their experiences, it wasn't quite that crazy... "But it seems like I'm from a few days into the future from that point. Nel, too."

"Maybe it has something to do with how we showed up here... I'm not sure. But some of my last memories before showing up here were of defeating Luther, the 'Owner'." Blair's brother.

What did that mean though? If what had happened to their world had happened both in the point in time Albel had come from and the point in time Fayt and Nel had come from..... And then there was the fact Blair had been here, once.

Yuna continued to smile not to bothered by the girls short tone. She didn't let those sorts of things bother her. Her head canted to the side in thought before turning back towards the girl.

"Are you alright?" Watching didn't seem like much fun.

"She should play Blitzball Kupo." At that Yuna reached for her moogle and tried to shush him.

If a moogle could be said to pout, Ophelia was slightly pouting. "No, it's alright. It's probably better he get everything from another Hero kupo." There really was an awful lot, and she was still kind of new to this assignment in particular. She was hoping she wouldn't mess it up.

"You hadn't. No more than any of this." Clearly Vincent wasn't one for much small talk or reassurance. Ophelia smoothed her paws down her scarf and rearranged it, then looked up at Zelda. "Do you know why the heroes are appearing here kupo?" As in, instead of the Crystal of Fire.

"Friends..." Tern repeated softly, appearing to be a little less jittery than he had a moment before.

Asbel returned the glance, smiling a little as they turned down another street and entered the heart of Aqures Ixen with its luxurious housing and towering castle. "Yeah, I think so, too. And in time, they can help other Heroes, or find new places to live, doing whatever they want."

"And don't worry, Sophie," he added. "I promise you'll get to see it again. We'll go together."

"What?" Albel scowled. This whole thing was making his head hurt again, and he scratched the back of his head. "How is that even...?"

Fayt and Nel were taken from several days after him... and yet had been here for several months longer? That made no sense. He glared at his moogle for any kind of information and Mogdelina in her know-it-all manner... shrugged.

"The crystals work in mysterious ways, kupo," she stated defensively. "They summon the Heroes of Light when they are needed."

"And we couldn't all be needed at the same time?" Albel demanded indignantly. If they were all needed, it would have been a lot more convenient.

He had wondered at the tension in her as she asked the question, and the relief his answer brought. It was hardly the sort of subject to be comforting--what they'd been tasked with doing. Even if each had found their own reasons for continuing. Her answer, brought clarity to her relief, but also more questions.

"Thank you." Yes, please do start at the top, as he'll probably get more answers that way. Probably more questions too.
