Intro Log || The City That Never Sleeps

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Trano Golsaucia, Aqures Ixen, Airships.
When: The 5th of May. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in the Temple of Wind next to Trano Golsaucia, and they are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light.
Warning: N/A

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within a split second, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had are now gone. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you...

And at this very moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by a gentle breeze. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call once more, but is soon replaced by a much less graceful "Wake up, Kupo!" Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally bring you back to your senses. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Wind, in the Temple located right outside of a city called Trano Golsaucia. At this point, you may realize the breeze originates from the massive green Crystal floating nearby. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding.

Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures. They look pretty tired, but they will be more than happy to tell you everything you want to know. They shall tell you about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light and about what awaits you. Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

There are quite a few people around you as well. For the most part, they are people like you-- All clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. There are also some other Humans, Tarutaru and Hypello in the room, but unlike you they don't have a Crystal, nor do they have a Moogle following them. If addressed, they will say they are the Guardians of the Crystal of Wind and will confirm everything the Moogle said. They will reveal they found you unconscious around the Crystal a couples hours ago, and immediately contacted the Moogles and the government of Aqures Ixen.

If asked about it, both the Moogles and Guardians will explain that Heroes of Light have already appeared in this world within the past year, and they all are in a city called Aqures Ixen. It's the first time Heroes have appeared in this temple. In fact, you probably should go to Aqures Ixen as well. The Moogle will tell you this is where your house is and where the other Heroes will be able to help you. Thankfully, should you decide to take your sweet time to get there, the other Heroes may just come to you.

The Other Heroes
— Anytime —

And indeed, thanks to the efficiency of Mognet and Shoopuf Airline it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around. You may meet them in Trano Golsaucia or in Aqures Ixen, or maybe even in one of the Airships going back and forth between the two cities. They are those who arrived in this world months ago and they have gone through quite a lot. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you there were other Heroes of Light in this world. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you how they recklessly attacked the Heran Empire to free their friends a few months ago. And most importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a complete and utter disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

Trano Golsaucia
— Anytime —

Should you leave the Temple of Wind and head south, you will reach Trano Golsaucia. It's a gigantic city covered with snow-- To make it simple, this city is a gigantic amusement park. It is the most popular place in this world and of course, there are plenty of people all around. Thankfully, other Heroes of Light are easy to spot: they are the only ones who are followed by a Moogle and holding a Crystal.

And there is quite a lot to be done in this city. Maybe you could stop by the Triple Triad Center to begin a successful career in card games, or maybe you could buy a ticket at the Blitzball Stadium to support your favorite team. If you're the kind of person who relies on luck, you may have more fun gambling in the Casino or betting on your favorite Chocobo in the Chocobo Races. If you're more of a person who enjoys simpler games, maybe you could try one of the numerous carnival-style mini-games found in the city, such as the shooting stand or the treasure chest game.

If you'd like more details regarding all the attractions and games available in Trano Golsaucia, you can find everything here! Of course, all of this requires money and odds are that you may not have a single Gil yet. If your Moogle is nice though, maybe you could ask him or her to loan you some Gil...

Airships
— Every Four Hours —

Upon reaching Trano Golsaucia, you will also have the right to board an Airship. Exceptionally, there is an Airship available every four hours, all because of your arrival so that Heroes of Light can meet each other and go to Aqures Ixen with ease.

The flight itself should take between four to six hours as it will travel from one city to the other on route. This is nothing special for the denizens of this world, but for you it may be quite the experience if you never boarded a plane or any flying contraptions before. The service is nothing special, but there are some light refreshments offered free of charge. Note that most of the employees on Airships are Hypello.

Aqures Ixen
— After an Airship Trip —

Upon arriving in Aqures Ixen, the first thing you will see is the Airship Port in the 12th District. Following that, no doubt your eyes will find the Castle of Aqures Ixen, a classic yet refined structure standing in the city. From there on, characters are free to visit the city-- There are no attractions in this city, but there are scientific buildings, another Blitzball Stadium and even an Observatory serving as base for the Heroes of Light. If you'd like more details regarding all that is available in Aqures Ixen, you can find everything here!

Or maybe -and perhaps inevitably!- you could visit your new house in the 11th or 14th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. It's been a long day, so you could use some sleep. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with...

Fayt had come along with Nel to check out the new arrivals at the Water Crystal, but that didn't mean he wasn't exploring the city for a bit as well. He'd been stopping to talk to new arrivals while he did, explaining what he could and asking a few questions in the process.

Really, it's the two toned hair that caught his eyes first-- without his usual attire, Albel doesn't stand out nearly as much as he would otherwise. Once it does however, it's easy enough to spot the man, and Fayt makes his way over, picking up his pace down the street with Mogrika fluttering after him.

"Albel! Hey!"

Albel stopped short and looked up when he heard that infuriating yet oh-so-welcome voice, his own little ball of fur bumping into the back of his leg in her haste to keep up with his strides.

"Leingod." Albel's eyes narrowed as he stared down the younger man. Fayt was here. At the same time... Fayt was here. He wouldn't admit it, but Albel was actually relieved. If Fayt was here, it meant someone else made it out of the void -- and maybe the others did, too. The more of them that were still left, the greater chance there might be to get home and save their own world.

After a moment of glowering, Albel's face broke into a smirk. "So they brought you here -- did they make a mistake?"

"Seeing as I've been here for a few months now, I kind of doubt it." The response is deadpan, but there's a smile on his face as he finally comes to a stop near Albel, crossing his arms as he looks him over. Huh, that outfit looked like....

"They didn't make any mistakes kupopo!" Mogrika seems personally insulted by the insinuation, from the way her fur fluffs up a bit. Her charge was not a fake!

"It's alright, Mogrika....." He glances from her, back to Albel with a growing grin. "You're late, you know. Nel and I have been here for a while now." And Ameena..... but Albel had never met her.

"Hmph, your furball is rather loud," Albel commented, to which Mogdelina huffed, "Moogles, kupo." He ignored her.

Instead, he focused on Fayt's rebuttal. "A few months?" The warrior's brow furrowed, plainly confused. "But we'd just left Sphere. How could you have been here for months?"

"I'm not a furball, kupo!!" and to punctuate her point, that 'furball' sets about kicking Albel in the shin midair. Not that it's a very strong kick.

"Just.... left Sphere?" ....Oh. This really isn't as surprising as it could have been, considering.
wickedone: (red gaze)

[personal profile] wickedone 2015-05-12 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Tch." Albel glanced down. Had that thing tried to kick him? He barely felt it. He shook his leg to wave it off.

"Yes -- we retrieved Aquaria's sacred orb, and..." Albel stared back at Fayt, trying to understand. And purposely leaving out the part about going to Airyglyph for the Crimson Scourge. He didn't really want to relive that. "We were going to use it to defeat those Proclaimers, and the Owner that Blair woman kept talking about. We were just there, before... this."

Before he'd woken up here.

Mogrika huffs but flutters away, deciding to leave the big mean weirdo alone for now.

".....Right. Alright, this is probably going to sound a little crazy--" Though considering their experiences, it wasn't quite that crazy... "But it seems like I'm from a few days into the future from that point. Nel, too."

"Maybe it has something to do with how we showed up here... I'm not sure. But some of my last memories before showing up here were of defeating Luther, the 'Owner'." Blair's brother.

What did that mean though? If what had happened to their world had happened both in the point in time Albel had come from and the point in time Fayt and Nel had come from..... And then there was the fact Blair had been here, once.

"What?" Albel scowled. This whole thing was making his head hurt again, and he scratched the back of his head. "How is that even...?"

Fayt and Nel were taken from several days after him... and yet had been here for several months longer? That made no sense. He glared at his moogle for any kind of information and Mogdelina in her know-it-all manner... shrugged.

"The crystals work in mysterious ways, kupo," she stated defensively. "They summon the Heroes of Light when they are needed."

"And we couldn't all be needed at the same time?" Albel demanded indignantly. If they were all needed, it would have been a lot more convenient.

"I'm thinking it has something to do with how we got dragged here in the first place, too." At the very least, Mogdelina was in line with Fayt's thinking there.

"I've been here for...." He pauses, considering. "almost four months. Nel, too. Another person from Elicoor is here too, but I don't think you've ever met her. She lived in Peterny when I met her." And she'd been dead for a long while. Yet another point towards the non-linear functions of time here.

"There's a lot that's happened, but it's probably going to make an equal amount of sense as all that right now. First things first, we'd better find a place a bit warmer before you freeze." Don't think he hadn't noticed your shivering, Albel.
wickedone: (tongue)

[personal profile] wickedone 2015-05-14 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Four months..." Albel's hands tightened into fists, knuckles white (though mainly from the cold). Then he released. Fayt was right, everything made just about as much sense as everything else -- which was that nothing made sense. If he thought of it that way, that everything was equally nonsensical, then it was almost easier to handle than still trying (and failing) to grasp one last thing.

He purposely continued to ignore the mention of Nel. Because that relationship, or whatever it was, was complicated to say the least.

In the end, he simply nodded and tried his damnedest to stop shivering. Like he could control it if he just concentrated hard enough. But he hated the cold, hated it, and he'd already admitted as much to Fayt before back in Airyglyph. So it wasn't like it was a big secret. "Alright. Lead the way."

And it was for that reason he didn't mention Blair, Sophia, or the suspicions he and Nel had formed over their time here. Albel was already dealing with a lot-- and while he'd shown he had the ability to process way more than most in terms of fantastical situations, it would be far easier on anyone to be comfortable while doing it.

Fayt returns the nod with one of his own, glancing around at the streets. He'd never actually come all the way out here before, but it couldn't be that hard to find a place to go.

"There's got to be some place we can go around here, this town's pretty lively.... maybe a bar or restaurant?" He glances at Mogrika. "Are you very familiar with the area?" She shakes her head, still giving Albel some distance.

"Alright then... let's try this way." He starts down the road eastwards, glancing at the windows of shops and buildings as they go. Albel might notice Fayt's started to dress to blend in here, his own clothes, while still used from time to time, had been relegated to occasional use.

Albel's face, and hopes, fell. So much for that.

"I thought you knew this place, if you were gonna help," he grumbled sourly. But he still tramped after the younger man. And... well, he did still feel at least somewhat better, knowing he wasn't the only one from his world. Fayt was someone capable.

Although... looking at Fayt's clothing reminded Albel of his own sudden change of wardrobe. What was with this weird change? Did people from this world change his clothes while he was unconscious? That was creepy. He'd have to ask Mogdelina where his old clothes were. He'd of course want them back.

"I don't live here, I live in Aqures Ixen. It's on the continent to the east of here." Hey, he's only been here four months. He didn't know everything about this world.

"Most of the 'Heroes of Light' live there. You'll probably be given housing there as well." He pauses in his steps after a while, glancing at what looked to be a somewhat empty looking tavern. It was open though, from the look of it.

Perfect.

"This will work."
wickedone: (cold stare)

[personal profile] wickedone 2015-05-15 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
That did sound familiar. He was probably briefed on such a thing, but he was trying to take in everything at once... It hadn't exactly been the highest priority. Albel grunted noncommittally.

Mogdelina took it to mean that her assistance was needed and piped up proudly, "Oh yes, kupo! Mister Nox is assigned to building B-11!"

Albel gestured at his furry know-it-all and rolled his eyes. It might not have been the most appropriate time, but yes, at least she did know. Finding the tavern was perfect timing, however. Warmth. He quickly hustled his way inside, practically pushing Fayt out of the way to get to it.

"B-11? I'm in B-09. Not that far then...." At least, it wasn't as far off as Nel's place was. Not that it was a problem for her, when she could just climb across roofs to get into his window.

He lets Albel push through, smiling a little at the gruffness of it all. Some things just didn't change.... "Look, there's a fire in the back. We can sit there, if you want to."
wickedone: (<3 maggot)

[personal profile] wickedone 2015-05-15 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Albel didn't even answer that suggestion, merely made a beeline for the fireplace and sat right in front of it. Warmth, oh blessed warmth. The few other patrons shot him strange looks, not that he noticed or would have cared.

It wasn't until he could feel his fingers again that he acknowledged Fayt's own housing. B-09... that did sound close. Not bad, not bad at all. Of course, Albel couldn't show that he actually liked this news, but he managed a smirk.

"Hm... Beats sharing some room in Peterny."

"Hey, that inn was one of the better ones." Unlike Airyglyph's... which... well.

The one stay they'd had there was plenty enough memory of near freezing to death for Fayt, thanks. He settles by the fire himself, mulling over the idea or ordering something warm to drink if they have it.

"You'll have housemates, though. There are three others living with me right now." Unsaid, of course, was that Fayt hoped Albel would behave himself with whoever he ended up living with. Or at least not try to scare the crap out of them. Whichever. "So you might end up with the same."
wickedone: (meh)

[personal profile] wickedone 2015-05-24 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
He could make no promises about scaring the crap out of them. In fact, if it were said, Albel would have argued that that wasn't his problem -- if they couldn't handle him, it was their own fault, and if they were scared then it just proved what worms they were.

As it was, he simply wrinkled his nose in annoyed disappointment. "Hmph. Hopefully they won't be completely useless then."

He did decide then and there, however, that he'd be attempting to avoid them as much as possible. Strangers in his living space did not sound appealing at all. He wondered how possible it would be to move...

"Everyone in the housing system we're in should be Warriors of Light, if that helps." Fayt wasn't sure if that'd encourage Albel to get along, though. He leans back in his chair a little, staring into the fire before he continues.

"Everyone who ended up here like we did.... with the darkness, and the crystal. We've all been brought here because of a kind of cycle in this world, and ours probably." He pulls out his own crystal, more of a sharp edged, geometric shard that looks almost purple.

"We can't access things like Symbology or our usual battle skills here, but these-" He tosses the crystal to Mogrika, who catches it. Nodding to her, she paws at the crystal a little before it flashes.... and Fayt's sitting there in his paladin armor. "-These crystals give us abilities we can use to fight, to replace our own."
wickedone: (meh)

[personal profile] wickedone 2015-05-26 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
"The children at that Wind Crystal were also supposedly Heroes of Light," Albel replied, unimpressed. "I'm not sure it means much, other than how we got here."

The darkness. The world melting away, shattering, emptiness. Ending.

Fayt's sudden change caught his attention, which shifted to the crystal. Interesting... He looked at his own, still a bright red in the shape of a hilt-guard, and wondered what else it could do. But apparently it could change his clothing, which would be welcome -- if not cold. He handed it to Mogdelina, who looked at him quizzically as if to make double sure that's really what he wanted before she activated it in the same way. Right on cue, the ninja's garb transformed into Albel's old sarong and tight shirt -- cold as hell, but his.

"I would prefer Runology..." he began. "But if these things do what you say they do, then I should learn to use it quickly."

"Indeed. I'm afraid Runology won't be of use here." A familiar voice pipes up, seemingly from nowhere. Or is it?

Nel's actually returned from her trip to the Temple of Wind, after asking about the status of the Crystal. When did she show up, you ask? Who knows. In actuality, she'd been listening in for some time, but waited for an opportunity to make her presence known.

"Albel Nox. So you too have appeared among this new group of Heroes." Nel murmurs, her face partially obscured by her ninja garb. She's still plenty recognizable enough. It's surprising, but still, she did come here for a reason. Her attention turns to Fayt. "I've had a look around town. Unlike last time, this awakening doesn't seem any different from the previous ones."

[personal profile] etherealblast 2015-05-28 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Fayt frowns a little at Albel's change of clothes. Really, that seemed a little counter productive to him, considering he had a feeling Albel would be complaining about the cold soon enough.

And then there's the familiar voice of Nel, and to Fayt's credit, he doesn't jump this time, though it's a near thing. Really, this seemed to be becoming something of a habit.

"Huh.... maybe the change was only the transfer of the arrivals. We'll be pretty lucky if it was." He turns in the chair, straddling the back with one arm as he faces Nel. "He's a bit behind us both, but not too far. The fourth dimension isn't an issue, at least."
wickedone: (red gaze)

[personal profile] wickedone 2015-06-04 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Fayt could stuff his opinion about Albel's clothes, Albel liked his clothes -- his own clothes. Likewise, he liked to complain as he saw fit.

And Nel... Well, he'd assumed she'd be showing up sooner or later.

He raised an eyebrow, looking between his two compatriots. "What happened last time?" he asked cautiously, not liking the sound of different and lucky.
