Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within a split second, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had are now gone. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you...

And at this very moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by a gentle breeze. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call once more, but is soon replaced by a much less graceful "Wake up, Kupo!" Hand clutched on your Crystal, the call of the Moogle may finally bring you back to your senses. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Wind, in the Temple located right outside of a city called Trano Golsaucia. At this point, you may realize the breeze originates from the massive green Crystal floating nearby. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding.

Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures. They look pretty tired, but they will be more than happy to tell you everything you want to know. They shall tell you about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light and about what awaits you. Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

There are quite a few people around you as well. For the most part, they are people like you-- All clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. There are also some other Humans, Tarutaru and Hypello in the room, but unlike you they don't have a Crystal, nor do they have a Moogle following them. If addressed, they will say they are the Guardians of the Crystal of Wind and will confirm everything the Moogle said. They will reveal they found you unconscious around the Crystal a couples hours ago, and immediately contacted the Moogles and the government of Aqures Ixen.

If asked about it, both the Moogles and Guardians will explain that Heroes of Light have already appeared in this world within the past year, and they all are in a city called Aqures Ixen. It's the first time Heroes have appeared in this temple. In fact, you probably should go to Aqures Ixen as well. The Moogle will tell you this is where your house is and where the other Heroes will be able to help you. Thankfully, should you decide to take your sweet time to get there, the other Heroes may just come to you.

The Other Heroes
— Anytime —

And indeed, thanks to the efficiency of Mognet and Shoopuf Airline it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around. You may meet them in Trano Golsaucia or in Aqures Ixen, or maybe even in one of the Airships going back and forth between the two cities. They are those who arrived in this world months ago and they have gone through quite a lot. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you there were other Heroes of Light in this world. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers when they told you how they recklessly attacked the Heran Empire to free their friends a few months ago. And most importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a complete and utter disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

Trano Golsaucia
— Anytime —

Should you leave the Temple of Wind and head south, you will reach Trano Golsaucia. It's a gigantic city covered with snow-- To make it simple, this city is a gigantic amusement park. It is the most popular place in this world and of course, there are plenty of people all around. Thankfully, other Heroes of Light are easy to spot: they are the only ones who are followed by a Moogle and holding a Crystal.

And there is quite a lot to be done in this city. Maybe you could stop by the Triple Triad Center to begin a successful career in card games, or maybe you could buy a ticket at the Blitzball Stadium to support your favorite team. If you're the kind of person who relies on luck, you may have more fun gambling in the Casino or betting on your favorite Chocobo in the Chocobo Races. If you're more of a person who enjoys simpler games, maybe you could try one of the numerous carnival-style mini-games found in the city, such as the shooting stand or the treasure chest game.

If you'd like more details regarding all the attractions and games available in Trano Golsaucia, you can find everything here! Of course, all of this requires money and odds are that you may not have a single Gil yet. If your Moogle is nice though, maybe you could ask him or her to loan you some Gil...

Airships
— Every Four Hours —

Upon reaching Trano Golsaucia, you will also have the right to board an Airship. Exceptionally, there is an Airship available every four hours, all because of your arrival so that Heroes of Light can meet each other and go to Aqures Ixen with ease.

The flight itself should take between four to six hours as it will travel from one city to the other on route. This is nothing special for the denizens of this world, but for you it may be quite the experience if you never boarded a plane or any flying contraptions before. The service is nothing special, but there are some light refreshments offered free of charge. Note that most of the employees on Airships are Hypello.

Aqures Ixen
— After an Airship Trip —

Upon arriving in Aqures Ixen, the first thing you will see is the Airship Port in the 12th District. Following that, no doubt your eyes will find the Castle of Aqures Ixen, a classic yet refined structure standing in the city. From there on, characters are free to visit the city-- There are no attractions in this city, but there are scientific buildings, another Blitzball Stadium and even an Observatory serving as base for the Heroes of Light. If you'd like more details regarding all that is available in Aqures Ixen, you can find everything here!

Or maybe -and perhaps inevitably!- you could visit your new house in the 11th or 14th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. It's been a long day, so you could use some sleep. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with...

"Yes!" Robin sighed. She had checked her new robes a few times, looking over her new clothing in an effort to find her book. Nothing worked, though, and she knew -- before the world around her shattered -- that she had it gripped firmly in hand. She knew that it was gone, but she didn't want to admit to it. She had to hope that Zelda was right.

"I had some notes I wanted to check over for a new strategy," she said. "They were tucked between the pages. And the book was interesting, too. And--"

Something about what he said stuck in her mind. She looked at him in surprise, until she caught note of a few things: the similarities in how he looked to her (save for the blue hair...). The beaming, eager smile. What he called her. She stared like a deer in headlights.

"C-Come again?"

"That's definitely a shame," Morgan took a moment to pause and think, looking around. There was even more confusion that wouldn't be out of the question for something on the smaller side to get lost in all of it.

"Do you think it landed nearby? There are a lot of people here, maybe one of them picked it up, looking for the owner? We can ask around, together." Even if they couldn't find it, though, what mattered most was that they were together.

Still, Morgan couldn't help but notice that his mother looked more than a little off-guard. Perhaps there was something still the matter.

"Hm? Are you missing something else?"

Perhaps it spoke to Robin's love of books -- and the bond of mother and son, across time, space, and incredible chance -- that she actually considered what Morgan was saying while her mind reeled with the realization that this was her son. Or, perhaps, that this boy considered himself to be her son! But, no, there were certain things that gave it away. Similarities in mannerisms, his appearance, and the little details that suggested that.

She looked around for a moment, as if to spot the book where it may have fallen -- and then she looked up with widening eyes. "Wait!" she said. "You called me mother! You're--um."

She looked him up and down.

"You're a little old to be my son," she said, tilting her head to the side. "I couldn't be--but I can see the similarity..."

Morgan just shrugged his shoulders, smiling.

"Yeah, I came back with Lucina and everyone else, remember? You were the one who found me at the temple and explained the whole time travel thing to me." He paused for a moment, thinking. Something was clicking together in his head.

"Actually, this is a lot like that time, too. I wake up in a strange temple with no idea how I'd gotten there, but right when I need you most, there you are!" Something about in invisible bonds and all that.

Still, something seemed off. If she didn't think she could have a son his age, wouldn't gba mean that she didn't remember meeting Lucina, either? Or any of the other kids? Something was definitely off. It could only be...

"Mother! Don't tell me this time you've lost your memory!" ...Again.

...Again.

Robin's shoulders slump, because that was the first thought that went through her mind: she lost her memory, perhaps again. Morgan mentioned one person she knew; she had encountered Lucina before (though she hardly knew the truth about her, much less the full truth). Then she sighed. "I-I hope not!"

She looked up, tilting her head to the side. "I didn't--Lucina was from the future? Is from the future? That explains quite a bit. We were marching to take care of Mad King Gangrel, when everything happened..." When the world shattered. She lifted her head, tilting it to the side. "I don't think I lost my memory."

She paused, then awkwardly corrected: "I don't think I lost more of my memory."

"Huh, that's weird. Last thing I remember we were going to fight Grima." Morgan blurts it out, almost without thinking. As far as he remembered it, things with Grima had already kind of started by the time he joined the team, but if his mother didn't remember anything after Gangrel, there was no way the dragon was something she'd know about. Or the Validar thing. Maybe that was something he should leave out, it wasn't really a pleasant conversation. Or, maybe that meant she deserved to know. It was a tough call. Suddenly, he had a lot more respect for what his sister went through.

Still, there was a part of him that couldn't help but feel sad, even if he was trying not to show it. He didn't have many memories, but the ones he had with his mother were some of the most important! It didn't really seem fair that his mother was here and she didn't remember anything about him, but there wasn't much he couldn't do about it now. Except make new memories, of course.

It begged the question though, why didn't she remember? If it was just another case of amnesia, it wouldn't make sense for her to remember up to Gangrel, right? Maybe it was something else."

"Hey, do you think maybe that world-shattery thing had something to do with it? It brought us all the way here, but maybe it got messed up in the time stream or something?"

"Grima?" she asked, tilting her head, but then she shook it. No, that could wait for later; she shouldn't find out what might be and what could be, when she needed to concern herself with what was. His question was a very good one, though, and that made her think. Even if she felt distracted, for a moment. Something about that name.

Grima...

Her expression grew distant, but then lost it, and she smiled. Despite knowing him for all of a minute, she had to be proud of him: he found a likely explanation for this quandary! That's her boy. "Yeah!" she said. "I think that must be it. If it can break the space between worlds, there's no reason that whatever is happening can't break the flow of time, too. We know that's possible, too, because of what you mentioned before."

She tapped a finger against her chin. "Very good! You reasoned that out--oh!" Her grin turned into a sheepish smile. "I'm sorry, but I don't know--the lack of memory thing, you see--ah, what's your name, son?"

[personal profile] nosferatanking 2015-05-14 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Morgan can't help but grin at the compliment. Sure enough, even two (or twenty) years ago, mother was still mother. As sad as he was about the missing memories, any fears he had about not being able to make new ones vanished instantly.

"I'm Morgan, it's nice to meet you! I'd ask your name, but I already know you who are, haha." He wasn't entirely sure that 'nice to meet you' was the phrase he should be using here (after all, was it really possible to meet someone you'd known your entire life?), but this probably counted as the first meeting for Robin.

Robin, the other Robin, who had been floating behind Morgan's back, took the lull as an opportune time to fly forward, interrupting the conversation. "This is all well and good, kupo, but don't you think we should be moving on? We don't have all day to spend in this temple, kupo!" Morgan immediately pulled the moogle back, making a frantic 'be quiet' gesture.

"It's wonderful to meet you too!" Robin said. She smiled and clapped a hand down on Morgan's shoulder. She wanted to hug him, but it felt like it might be awkward. There were, of course, many questions -- like who his father was! -- but she didn't quite know where to start yet. They could figure that out with time. Every indication was that she would be here for awhile. The moogle's voice brought that to mind, as she peered over his shoulder at her.

"She has a point, kupo," Marc voiced, walking up next to Robin. "We should also check on the other fresh arrivals. Some of them might not be taking it so well. Besides."

The grumpy moogle looked at Robin (the human version) and Morgan, before looking at the moogle Robin. "You two happen to have been assigned the same house."

"Oh!" Robin exclaimed. "Good. That will make things much easier!"

He turns towards Marc, his excitement at that last statement palpable, even from a distance, "Really? That's fantastic!"

On top of meeting all of the new people here, he'd also get to live with mother! In an actual house! He hadn't known what to expect when he'd woken up here, but so far, this place seemed very promising. He was excited to learn as much as he could here.

As tempted as he is to hug his mother when she puts her hand on his shoulder, he'll refrain from the time being, instead opting to grab Robin's hand and drag her towards the exit with him, his moogle hovering close behind. There were so many things to talk about! Where would he even begin?

"Then, should we get going? It sounds like we have a lot of people to meet!"

Robin nodded, eagerly -- and was surprised when he grabbed her hand. It was something that she might do and the similarity struck her immediately. It brought a smile to her face, though. This was all a great relief, she thought. Having a son, even one that she didn't know she had, made life easier. Her feet skipped a few times, but then she hurried after him.

"Yes!" she agreed. "Let's go meet them!"
