Because all of this makes sense [OPEN]
Characters: Yuffie and OPEN
Where: Aqures Ixen, also heading out of the city.
When: May 14th to May 20nd -ish
Summary: These chains of action make sense to Yuffie.
Warning: N/A
Rearranging some of MarKus's(or Spark's) things (or others – before meeting)
She would never take things and keep them, not anymore anyway. She just enjoyed moving her friends things around when they weren't around. If something caught her eye she might borrow it for a short period of time but she would always give it back. It was a distraction and it kept her skills sharp. There were many things filtering through her thoughts but nothing made sense when she finally went to put the pieces together.
Yuffie might be digressing a bit but it was the only way she really knew how to deal with everything. She wasn't sure if she should feel happy. Did she diverse to feel happy? Everything happens for a reason right? Maybe it was suppose to happen?
[ooc: Feel free to have Yuffie swipe anything. She'd look at it and then give it back or if she knows you, you can catch her moving your things around.]
Sneaking into windows (for those she knows - after meeting)
Her footsteps were silent as she moved across the gleaming grass. It wasn't so bright in the dark but the moons light was enough to make the area far to bright for Yuffie's liking. She couldn't really hide. She moved across the yard glancing at the window that stood like a checkered line marking the end of a race. It wasn't so hard to get to.
Yuffie should have probably turned invisible to do this but that wasn't as much fun and there was a purpose to her visit. The meeting had her thinking and this was her best chance to finally do something. She didn't think the other heroes were going to do anything so quickly so she was going to leave and try and do things herself.
There were just a few places she had to stop by first.
She moved up towards the window moving silently as she carefully began to open the sliding glass. She peeked in the window waiting for her eyes to adjust to the darker room. Let's hope her target was asleep.
Leaving town (Maybe not permanently or at all – after meeting)
Mooshoo finally caught up to her as she walked away from the city gates. A bag was slung over her shoulder and she walked with a purpose. She should probably leave with company but that didn't really cross her mind. She wanted to do something and this was one of the few times Mooshoo was trying to talk her out of a crazy idea.
”...This isn't a good idea” Mooshoo watched Yuffie his expression filled with worry. He usually let her be watching as she grew and changed over time. He knew that people cared about her and she cared about those around her and yet she was trying to do things on her own again.
“Come on. Mushu. It will be fine. I can't just do nothing.” She flashed him an angry stare.
”....you shouldn't go alone...”
“Yeah, I don't think anyone would want to come with. Besides I have even more people I want to protect.” She meant to make it sound like she was complaining but her tone became wistful and soft as she spoke. Yuffie knew a handful of people who'd get pissed if she just up and left.

20th May - Sneaking into windows
Brutal honesty was very much one of Sephiroth's defining traits. He'd always tell it like it was regardless of whether it was appropriate to or not. However, that attitude was also a curse; a lot of other Heroes had appealed to his good nature to open up to them and share his own burden but Sephiroth had refused them all. He didn't want to talk about events that he would bring about in the future of their Planet, they repeated around in his subconscious enough without having to be talked about openly.
Since the meeting, he'd been a lot sterner about it as his own problems weren't relevant at all in the grander scheme of things even if Genesis might insist that many answers might lie literally beneath his skin; wound into the very fabric of his spirit.
"Some things are best not to be discussed, Yuffie." Sephiroth looked down and away momentarily, his bare toned chest rose and fell with a heavy breath as he walked the few paces back towards the end of his bed. The long tail of silver hair tied back at the nape of his neck swishing with his steps and just brushing past the waistband of loose grey cotton pants; pajama bottoms for all they appeared.
"Tifa..." He thought back to the brunette who had recently put herself in his way when he'd returned to Aqures, the words she had said were repeated by a handful of others. They had made sense, he wasn't the man that was in the dream. Yet-
"...I think she might have taken to drink more, as a result of what was experienced. Can't say that I blame her, at that." He then turned and sat down on the edge of the yet-still-made bed and rose his gaze again to Yuffie. Looking over her curiously as if trying to fathom how to explain, yet not explain to her. He suspected, since she were older too she'd probably have a good idea about the things he'd not-done-yet, too.
"I...wasn't myself."
20th May - Sneaking into windows
Yuffie liked that Sephiroth was blunt, it meant she could take his words at face value and even when he's an evil bastard. He's still honest.
She watched his hair as he walked away. It was always interesting how it swayed. Her own hair had grown an inch or two below her shoulders and she wondered it she could get her's as long as Sephiroth's. Would it be that pretty? Her thoughts were pulled back on topic when he mentioned Tifa's name. She blinked studying him curiously as he sat down.
At least he wasn't weirdly close anymore. "I've been watching her." Yuffie wasn't about to let her friend get hurt anymore. She's suffered enough and yet she can't get Cloud off his lazy ass to support her.
Yuffie sighed. "I figured." She lightly tapped her toe against the floor. "I know. After the whole crystal thing. I remembered a lot. I was sorta glad you were away. I don't like you. You know that so I don't see why I should repeat it. I don't think I'll like you no matter what and not because of the crazy you. Because your arrogant and you like to do things yourself and you make friends of mine worry. Do you know how annoying that is?"
She hated him. It wasn't a feeling that would ever really go away but that didn't mean she had to yell at him every time she saw him or spoke to him. That took far to much energy.
20th May - Sneaking into windows
As for his hair - it was starting to get back now to the length he'd had it before the Battle at Esdham. Still, as a result, of what had caused it to have to be cut Sephiroth quite often wore it up and back out of the way now. Gone were the days where he'd proudly let it fall free and know that it wouldn't get in his way.
Yuffie's words though, Sephiroth had not been expecting. So much emphasis had been put on the things that he had yet-to-do as opposed to what he had already done in his life before being brought to Crystallis that events such as the Wutai war had been washed out into the background. Yet, Yuffie made no mention of that either - she seemed to have picked out other reasons for him to deserve her hatred.
Not that he wholly agreed with them. His arrogance had taken a large smack down during the course of recovering from his broken leg and even if he had reverted into carrying himself in a similar manner Sephiroth liked to think he'd learned from it. As for doing things himself; that was just how he was - it's better to deal with his own problems himself. That third part though-
"No...I don't." He answered, steeling himself mentally for the barrage he was certain to get next.
20th May - Sneaking into windows
"You know. I have a lot of reasons to yell at you and I could go on about how I don't like you but.." Yuffie took a deep breath before continuing. "I need your help." Which was hard for her to admit.
"You have a mind for war and with this stupid... damn... crystal thing happening." She had been spending to much time with MarKus who swears often when he works. "I want to sneak into the Empire. I've been told countless times that it is stupid to go alone so I'm not doing that but I don't want anyone else to get hurt. I don't want to broadcast my plans so I'm visiting those I think would want to help. I don't think you want to help but I'm asking."
She didn't really want his help either but she knew that he was familiar with ShinRa's tactics and while she wasn't going to go as far as that company she needed someone who could fight dirty so that none of the heroes would die or be captured.
20th May - Sneaking into windows
Sephiroth had half prepared himself for a verbal barrage from Yuffie, given her previous comment which seemed to lead that way, that at first he missed completely that she came here looking for his help. He raised his gaze from the floor to look over Yuffie more carefully as she continued, though managed to suppress the urge to fold his arms up. He'd overheard something of a new plan forming at the meeting but had hoped it wouldn't get very far off the ground.
"I think you may really have lost it, Yuffie. What do you possibly think you could learn by leading a group of greener Heroes back into Imperial territory?"
20th May - Sneaking into windows
Yuffie shook the imagine away and walked over towards the window with her back to the SOLDIER. Her arms crossed over her chest and her tone was short, flat, a little annoyed but not yet angry.
"I don't know but it's better than sitting on my ass." She took a deep breath. "I'm not part of the military. I can't just trust people to tell me what to do." Despite the face that Yuffie was childish she was still a princess and she wanted to choose the right course. Her father, she knew, would wait and bid time while learning more. She didn't feel like she could do that.
"Maybe they know something we don't."
20th May - Sneaking into windows
He watched Yuffie as she walked back over towards the window, wondering if she were thinking of leaving so soon. Well, he'd hardly welcomed her idea with open arms. It begged the question what Yuffie had even expected from him.
"They know a great deal of somethings that we don't, that's for sure." Sephiroth took great effort in lightening his tone, knowing that patronizing Yuffie now probably wouldn't help, though certain habits in the way he spoke would probably never go away.
"Marching in there after them isn't the way anyone is going to find them, though."
20th May - Sneaking into windows
Maybe she hoped that he wasn't the man she knew and being here would stop that from happening? Except that she wanted ShinRa to be torn down and Sephiroth had done a pretty good job of doing that. She shivered at her own thoughts before pushing them away again.
She had to focus even though it was hard. Her shoulders remained tense and it was obvious that she looked ready to bolt. She wasn't comfortable around Sephiroth no matter how many people sung his praises. Her thoughts shifted to Rikku remembering what her fellow captive had told her.
20th May - Sneaking into windows
Just like when they had all jumped on the bandwagon in the name of some heroic rescue attempt. Doing exactly what was indicated for them to do, and now that thing was loose and beginning its expansion.
"I wouldn't have thought you'd want to go back there-" He suggested as Sephiroth took a careful glance over Yuffie's body language again. Though she looked about ready to bolt, he knew enough of the pain of the experiences she'd been through; both Yuna and Rikku had been hurt by the experiments, it made sense to him that Yuffie too could still be hurting but doing her best to hide it. Just like another person in the same room.
"-so soon."
20th May - Sneaking into windows
“I don’t want to go back.” Yuffie’s words were harsher than she meant them but she didn’t care. It hurt. It still hurt and there were times she woke up screaming because she felt that poison burning her skin. How could he understand?
She felt herself shaking and had to swallow to stop showing weakness in front of Sephiroth. “I need to do something.” Her voice was soft almost inaudible.
20th May - Sneaking into windows
All along he carefully watched Yuffie, not allowing his expression to shift in anyway as she first bit back, then slipped and recomposed herself. It was a comfort to know that his intuition was as sharp as ever and that he'd been more than right. He didn't need to understand the specifics and how they left a trauma that the kid-ninja was still trying to get over; that she had been through something equally painful was easy enough to see.
Sephiroth rose from the edge of his bed and tilted his head downwards in Yuffie's direction; kind of a nod with an inquisitive gesture rolled into it. Still though, he wasn't sure what he caught from Yuffie's murmuring.
"Don't go back then. There might not be any opportunity to get you out again like last time."
20th May - Sneaking into windows
Yuffie looked away if only to spare herself a gaze that she found far to unsettling. Why had she even come to ask him anyway? She kept wondering that. It felt like a good idea at the time and even now she wants to leave but she wants to stay. She can't even explain it. It was annoying.
She sighed looking back over at him with a slight pout to her lips. "I know that. I know I shouldn't go back but... should we be doing something? You're a hero too right? Aren't you doing anything?" He was always the go get stuff done sort of guy wasn't he? Yuffie wasn't really sure. Besides his living and bathroom habits she knew very little about Sephiroth.
20th May - Sneaking into windows
Oddly, Sephiroth found himself caught between the same poles of thinking. Partly wondering why Yuffie had even come here; to seek his support seemed hardly likely, she'd not needed his say-so for anything before. Partly wishing she would just leave him be already. But perhaps it was that battered shred of heroism within him that couldn't let her be knowing that she wasn't going to be Ok.
"Right now. It's not clear exactly what we should be doing; not that it's changed much from when we first got here." He sounded a little off, perhaps even more than a little unsure, but as Sephiroth continued he seemed to find a foothold within the point he was trying to make.
"I joined the military, to give myself that something to do. It feels right to do that, like I'm contributing in the meantime. I intend to help out with the airship; since I think that's important too."
20th May - Sneaking into windows
"I guess that's important." She didn't know what to say to him. She could tell that he was unsure at first but it was as if her question only dissolved the doubt from his mind.
Yuffie kept her gaze steady looking up at him before turning to look back towards the window. This was so annoying. "I can't do that." But he could, he could be a hero when she couldn't do anything.
Her fingers curled into fists. Why was it so frustrating?
20th May - Sneaking into windows
But surely Wutai's defeat paled in comparison to the great despair that Sephiroth personally had a hand in dealing to every living thing on their Planet? A future that would come to pass regardless of his actions or what he spent his time doing in Crystallis. But what if something happened, what if he changed, he knew it was a possibility.
"Why can't you?" Sephiroth focused himself onto the subject of the late-night conversation and resolved somewhat to close the lid on his own insecurities for that reason; it was strange, but it wasn't the first time he'd helped to give others advice and had it work out for the better. It wasn't ever as if he tried particularly hard, somehow, it just turned out that way.
He noted how tense Yuffie was becoming and offered an additional comment, taking care to at least make it sound less of a snap than his first question.
"I'm sure that you have something that you are good at that, that can be of some use."
20th May - Sneaking into windows
There must be something that she can do.
"I have an idea!" She didn't smile but there was a gleam in her eye that Sephiroth might remember from when Yuffie got a really bad idea. "I have to go."
She stepped towards the window opening it quicker than anyone should be able to. She looked back at Sephiroth as if she was about to say thank you except that she didn't.
"Later."
