Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.
"Kali Shashidhwaja."
Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.
And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.
This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

One of them shouted. 'You know the orders. They all have to be killed.'
Without hesitation they took aim at Robin seeing the silver haired girl as the very beasts that they fought. Behind the men was a flash of green before it vanished into the battle.
no subject
A flash erupted around her. "Here's how it's done!"
The blast of lightning flew from her hand, shooting towards the small group of foot soldiers. When the lightning came close, it exploded out in a ring between them and huge forks of the stuff shot this way and that for the soldiers.
no subject
Robin might hear a faint cry beneath the clutter and shouts of war. She might hear that roar again but this time the noise is coming closer. Like a beast trying to find it's child.
no subject
"Hello...?"
no subject
Soldiers came from behind Robin but their eyes instead set on the young girl. "There is! We must get that child. She's one of them!"
Terra began to run ducking through the crowd as the soldiers tried to follow.
no subject
"We'll try to find her," Robin said. "Come on. Let's go!"
no subject
A house slowly rose in the distance and Robin would know that's were they were headed. When they got closer she will see an older woman who's features are delicate like Terra's but her hair is a bright blond with red and brown highlights. It was pulled back and fell in curls just like her daughters. Baby-Terra ran into her mothers arms as the soldiers caught up.
Before their was a chance to speak they aimed at the pair and fired. Robin wouldn't be able to stop it. Unlike the other soldiers from before.
no subject
And then she heard the shot.
"N-No!" she murmured, sharply, and covered her mouth with a hand in terror.
no subject
The Soldiers could be heard talking as they realized what they did. "Shit. We were suppose to take her alive." Another one spoke up"Kefka's gonna kill us."
There eyes looked towards Terra. "We'll take him the girl. Better her than us."
A loud roar echoed behind her as if the creature felt the woman's life slip away and sought vengeance.
no subject
And she began to wonder. Just who was this creature?
no subject
She didn't scream or cry out. Instead she roared except that she was a young girl and so it didn't sound so threatening. The creature she called to responded as if hearing her cries and knowing exactly where his daughter was.
The ground rumbled beneath Robin's feet as the monster slowly moved closer. The soldiers were frantically glancing around trying to pull the girl away even as she called out to her father.
no subject
What did it hurt to try?
Another bolt of thunder screamed down from the heavens, splitting the skies. The lightning shot down for one of the soldiers near Terra, though not next to her. She didn't want to risk hurting her.
no subject
His hair was silver and while his features suggested something close to human his whole body rippled with a dangerous power. He waved a claw through the air and the soldiers erupted in fire as flare lit beneath them.
The young Terra ran to the mans side hiding behind him as more soldiers came to meet him in battle. Magitck armor rose around him.
"That's my father." Her voice was soft as the Terra that Robin knows stepped into view. Her eyes were on the silver haired man before her as if he held the answers the young woman sought. Before she could say more Maduin, her father, turned to Terra and casted Flare at her feet. She didn't move from the blast and the one attack was to bring her to her knees.
no subject
Robin swallowed. It confirmed what she suspected -- what she already knew -- that this was a memory. She couldn't change what happened here; even if she did, it wouldn't have really changed anything. It was a terrible thought. Robin's eyes sank, slowly, towards the ground.
"I'm sorry," she said, her voice growing quiet. "This was where you grew up? This... world?"
And these soldiers, Robin realized, took her from it.
no subject
The man before her didn't see her as his child. Instead she was just another enemy. He roared again as his power built. The air around him charging as he changed form.
Terra watched realizing why she had transformed into that beast. Her father had chosen to be human for her mother but he wasn't. He was the creature before him now how sought only to kill those who ripped his family apart.
no subject
But, Robin thought, that rage likely wasn't enough. Even if she couldn't intervene, she couldn't change what was happening here. She shook her head sadly.
"I'm sorry, Terra."
no subject
The beasts eyes then fixed on Robin as if seeing the girl for the first time. He roared loudly before throwing a wall of flame at her still form.
no subject
It was too late. Maduin struck Terra -- the older Terra, but still his daughter -- down. Robin's eyes widened with terror, before she looked up at the creature. She saw the fire that he hurled -- and she spun, before thrusting a hand out. A wave of thunder fired, slamming into the wall of flame, and held it at bay for a moment. She ran to throw herself between Terra and the Esper.
"Wait!" she called out. "We--we aren't your enemy! We aren't of this world!"
no subject
The soldiers around him began firing and Maduin took care of them with a flick of his tail. Then those in armor came shooting missiles at him. He roared and his eyes glazed over in rage as he sent dark magic at everything around him.
Robin might remember the spell as Ultima and she was also in it's path.
