Event || In Your Worst Memory

Characters: All Heroes of Light. Only those who signed-up can start a memory.
Where: Interdimensional Rift
When: May 27th - May 30th
Summary: The Heroes of Light relive some of their worst memories, with a twist. All characters participating in this will be physically missing from Crystallis for the duration of the event.
Warning: It depends on the memory.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.

"Kali Shashidhwaja."

Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.

And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.

This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

The empire soldiers turned towards her, the lighting hurting the armor but not enough to stop it. Three large missiles came shooting from the armor. A few foot soldiers came running towards her with their gun's raised.

One of them shouted. 'You know the orders. They all have to be killed.'

Without hesitation they took aim at Robin seeing the silver haired girl as the very beasts that they fought. Behind the men was a flash of green before it vanished into the battle.

Robin moved quickly, as she saw them taking aim. She started running, first; the missiles exploded into the ground behind her. She was grateful for that, at least, because those weapons unnerved her. The guns, too, gave her pause. She held a hand out while she ran, cradling her tome in her free hand. She looked between the soldiers, then she stopped. She spun, as the lightning danced over her fingers.

A flash erupted around her. "Here's how it's done!"

The blast of lightning flew from her hand, shooting towards the small group of foot soldiers. When the lightning came close, it exploded out in a ring between them and huge forks of the stuff shot this way and that for the soldiers.

One of the men shouted. "She's a beast! Just like the others! Kill her!" Of course his shouts fell on deaf ears as their opponent casted her spell at the gathering. The soldiers weren't weak against magic but her's was strong enough to knock them out. The man in the armor grunted falling forward. The armor still moved but it's pilot wasn't. It readied another strike though what it could be aiming at was a mystery now that the pilot wasn't in control.

Robin might hear a faint cry beneath the clutter and shouts of war. She might hear that roar again but this time the noise is coming closer. Like a beast trying to find it's child.

Robin watched the machine for a moment. She judged that without a pilot, it didn't pose a great threat. That left the shuffling noise that she heard. She began to move towards the cry, hurriedly but cautiously. It sounded desperate and that put Robin on her guard.

"Hello...?"
greenmagick: (Terra Young)

In the mist of battle is a young girl. With familiar bright green hair and eyes that glowed like the beasts who have gathered to fight the soldiers. "I lost my mommy." There was nothing noting that she was talking to Robin but her small soft voice rung clearly through the air. Terra wiped at her cheeks trying to stop the flow of tears but finding the effort useless.

Soldiers came from behind Robin but their eyes instead set on the young girl. "There is! We must get that child. She's one of them!"

Terra began to run ducking through the crowd as the soldiers tried to follow.

Robin sucked a gasp in sharply. She knew this girl; she knew her as someone older, someone from Aqures Ixen, and recognition took a moment. When it set in, though, she nodded quickly and reached a hand out towards Terra so she could take it, while running alongside her.

"We'll try to find her," Robin said. "Come on. Let's go!"
greenmagick: (Terra's mother)

The soldiers followed close behind the pair. After a few yards Terra's hand will slip from Robin's fingers. Robin will find that while she was around the young girl she couldn't touch anything. Baby-Terra kept running until her breath came out in heavy pants but she didn't cry.

A house slowly rose in the distance and Robin would know that's were they were headed. When they got closer she will see an older woman who's features are delicate like Terra's but her hair is a bright blond with red and brown highlights. It was pulled back and fell in curls just like her daughters. Baby-Terra ran into her mothers arms as the soldiers caught up.

Before their was a chance to speak they aimed at the pair and fired. Robin wouldn't be able to stop it. Unlike the other soldiers from before.

Robin's feet stumbled as she got to the house. She realized how everything was wrong; she realized that Terra's hand slipped through hers. She turned when she saw the soldiers, then, and saw the guns come up. Her eyes widened -- and she leaped, batting at their rifles, but her hand simply passed through the barrels of the guns. She turned, then, and saw Terra -- and her mother.

And then she heard the shot.

"N-No!" she murmured, sharply, and covered her mouth with a hand in terror.

The woman looked up towards the young girl smiling as her breaths became slower. She reached out cupping Terra's cheek as she spoke. I love you The words were unmistakable, "Run... to... Maduin..." Her voice slipped away as her last breath left her body.

The Soldiers could be heard talking as they realized what they did. "Shit. We were suppose to take her alive." Another one spoke up"Kefka's gonna kill us."

There eyes looked towards Terra. "We'll take him the girl. Better her than us."

A loud roar echoed behind her as if the creature felt the woman's life slip away and sought vengeance.

That creature, Robin realized. The same one that she heard before; its cries weren't only because it was being attacked. It was angry because its home was. Its family. She turned, slowly, to look behind her.

And she began to wonder. Just who was this creature?

The soldiers advanced on Terra as if unconcerned with the body that laid before her. The little girl tried to run except she was quickly caught by the soldiers firm grip. Her mothers' voices echo in her thoughts and as the roar rises through the chaos Terra replies to it.

She didn't scream or cry out. Instead she roared except that she was a young girl and so it didn't sound so threatening. The creature she called to responded as if hearing her cries and knowing exactly where his daughter was.

The ground rumbled beneath Robin's feet as the monster slowly moved closer. The soldiers were frantically glancing around trying to pull the girl away even as she called out to her father.

Robin wasn't sure whether that creature could understand her -- or see her. She seemed unable to affect things earlier, but who knew whether it would remain? The tactician backed up, watching as they grabbed at Terra. Her eyes narrowed -- and she looked towards the creature, then towards the soldiers. She raised a hand up.

What did it hurt to try?

Another bolt of thunder screamed down from the heavens, splitting the skies. The lightning shot down for one of the soldiers near Terra, though not next to her. She didn't want to risk hurting her.
greenmagick: (Maduin)

[personal profile] greenmagick 2015-06-02 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
For the moment Robin was invisible to the scene and her lightening useless. As the her bolt clashed against the ground it was as if the balance of the scene cracks. She's now in plan few of those around her though they seem more concerned with the man hovering in the hair behind her.

His hair was silver and while his features suggested something close to human his whole body rippled with a dangerous power. He waved a claw through the air and the soldiers erupted in fire as flare lit beneath them.

The young Terra ran to the mans side hiding behind him as more soldiers came to meet him in battle. Magitck armor rose around him.

"That's my father." Her voice was soft as the Terra that Robin knows stepped into view. Her eyes were on the silver haired man before her as if he held the answers the young woman sought. Before she could say more Maduin, her father, turned to Terra and casted Flare at her feet. She didn't move from the blast and the one attack was to bring her to her knees.

"Your father..."

Robin swallowed. It confirmed what she suspected -- what she already knew -- that this was a memory. She couldn't change what happened here; even if she did, it wouldn't have really changed anything. It was a terrible thought. Robin's eyes sank, slowly, towards the ground.

"I'm sorry," she said, her voice growing quiet. "This was where you grew up? This... world?"

And these soldiers, Robin realized, took her from it.

Terra shook her head feeling weak as the attack drained her. "I don't remember this place." She had been to young when they came. All she knew was what the Empire had showed her.

The man before her didn't see her as his child. Instead she was just another enemy. He roared again as his power built. The air around him charging as he changed form.

Terra watched realizing why she had transformed into that beast. Her father had chosen to be human for her mother but he wasn't. He was the creature before him now how sought only to kill those who ripped his family apart.

Robin swallowed, but she nodded. She knew what that was like. She had no memories, either; if she saw her father, she wouldn't know him, she suspected. She looked sideways at Terra and hesitated, her head bowing. It was terrible, she thought, to have to witness this and know how her family ended. She couldn't help but feel the rage that Maduin must have.

But, Robin thought, that rage likely wasn't enough. Even if she couldn't intervene, she couldn't change what was happening here. She shook her head sadly.

"I'm sorry, Terra."

Terra shook her head looking back at Robin. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean for you to see this." She smiled before stepping forward. Her father could see her but he only saw her as those trying to tear his family apart. His claw swiped down her front and Terra crumbled to the ground.

The beasts eyes then fixed on Robin as if seeing the girl for the first time. He roared loudly before throwing a wall of flame at her still form.

"No, it's okay. You--wait!"

It was too late. Maduin struck Terra -- the older Terra, but still his daughter -- down. Robin's eyes widened with terror, before she looked up at the creature. She saw the fire that he hurled -- and she spun, before thrusting a hand out. A wave of thunder fired, slamming into the wall of flame, and held it at bay for a moment. She ran to throw herself between Terra and the Esper.

"Wait!" she called out. "We--we aren't your enemy! We aren't of this world!"

The monster was beyond reason. He saw his home burned and his family be torn apart. He didn't care what was to come anymore, he fought like the beast he was. Power rippled from him in waves as if he was the essence of magic itself.

The soldiers around him began firing and Maduin took care of them with a flick of his tail. Then those in armor came shooting missiles at him. He roared and his eyes glazed over in rage as he sent dark magic at everything around him.

Robin might remember the spell as Ultima and she was also in it's path.
