Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.
"Kali Shashidhwaja."
Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.
And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.
This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

Sephiroth had spent the majority of the scene between confusion, frustration and something-akin to denial as the various facts had been made known to him. If he hadn't visited others memories beforehand he would have had more of an inclination to dismiss the entire thing as just another device meaning to manipulate him; but if it wasn't yet a memory of his- why was it now being shown?
"It's wrong." Sephiroth answered Cloud, but really didn't need to. Between the two of them that had already had revealed future-memories, surely Cloud hadn't forgotten already what was to come next. Just as Sephiroth knew that he wouldn't return from that mission alive.
"It's pulled from a later part...I think."
Re: 2)
Cloud took a deep breath and collected his thoughts. He'd never seen that part of the reactor with his own eyes before and he wasn't sure the vision just now counted. The kids would sneak in sometimes and he had peeked in as a grunt, but he'd never been down to that level.
"I guess so." Cloud frowned as he thought it all over. The memories from this portion were particularly fuzzy, even with how they were somewhat fading since the dream. "Yeah, it makes sense."
Dropping down to sit in the middle of the blackness he rested his elbows on his knees and his cheeks in his palms. "What to do...Do you think Kalki is behind this?"
2)
Snap back to the present, a wholly more comfortable place to be than the past or future currently yet still not without its concerns. Were they to remain here in a world that would show them the darkest parts of their hearts over and over until they broke? Sephiroth's encounter with the small girl in the garden had only ultimately left him with more questions.
"I'm not sure. This seems...larger than Kalki." Sephiroth swallowed an uncomfortable knot in his throat before almost completely doing a u-turn over that thought. "Though, that depends on your opinion. Who is Kalki, really? I saw her in one of the scenes here..."
Re: 2)
He shifted to lean back, resting his palms on the 'ground' behind him. It was a very Zack sort of thing to do. And really it was a bad habit for the both of them considering their military positions. "In the other world she was helping us out. And the people who ran into her as the research facility said she seemed like she was trying to do something about this Calamity thing too, right?"
He frowned, feeling like there was something definitely there but they didn't have all the pieces, "Do you think the version of her from that other world is the same person? Not a doppelganger or whatever she called them?" He was still concerned about what that said about the heroes he knew here and now too.
2)
"No. It was in a garden, earlier. There were others there too...and a strange girl."
Cloud might not yet have stumbled into it during his own journey through the vast memories but Sephiroth had already visited there on his. He didn't know it, of course, but the scene that had played out before him would be the last Sephiroth would see.
"You mean, perhaps she was somehow 'stuck' in the process?" Sephiroth canted his head towards Cloud a little, oddly comforted by the similar way that Cloud leaned back on his palms; it was indeed something that Zack might have done. Which just led thoughts back to Angeal and Sephiroth smiled faintly to himself - some habits, some nuances of personality just couldn't be trained out of a person.
"It's possible. At least."
Re: 2)
Cloud's brow furrowed as he thought. He wasn't at the point yet where he'd take on Zack's personality over his own but he was certainly copying the young hero by this point. It honestly comforted Cloud to do it, a way of pretending that Zack was here as well. Or at least it made him feel like he knew what he was doing.
"Maybe that garden was Kalki's memory or..."
Wait...
"A strange girl...did you see someone before you ended up in...all of this?"
2)
He didn't really care, anymore, if he came across as being negative and anti-social.
He blinked when Cloud back-tracked and smoothly rose his attention back to the boy still lain back so casually on the ground. A definite line had formed between Sephiroth's eyebrows as thoughts were cast back; he'd seen so many other memories at this point that it was proving difficult to get a good handle on time.
"Yes, exactly her. The one that brought us here from Crystallis. Where ever 'here' really is."
Re: 2)
He tried to call out to Sephiroth, but his voice was gone and a second later so too was his body.
