Event || In Your Worst Memory

Characters: All Heroes of Light. Only those who signed-up can start a memory.
Where: Interdimensional Rift
When: May 27th - May 30th
Summary: The Heroes of Light relive some of their worst memories, with a twist. All characters participating in this will be physically missing from Crystallis for the duration of the event.
Warning: It depends on the memory.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.

"Kali Shashidhwaja."

Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.

And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.

This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

Well, that's interesting. Though she'd no time for thinking it, choosing to attack the soldier with the radio to start with instead- if she can possibly help it, she'll stop that message getting through. Should that succeed, she'll take out the other soldiers before heading after the girl, taking the radio with her- and if not, she'll simply run.

K'pandolu was able to knock out the soldiers though she hears a chilling laughter on the other end of the radio. He had gotten part of the message across though there was no way to know how useful it was.

She could take the radio but she will find little use for it. The soldiers would be sending in their positions but the terms they use won't make much sense to the visitor. As she ran she'd notice a flash of green appearing across her vision before disappearing. It can be assumed to be the young girl but there wasn't a way to tell for sure.

There was a deep guttural roar that echoes in front of K'pandolu and a softer roar of a child that sounds out to meet him.

That would have been handier if she understood what the soldiers were talking about, but that hadn't been the point of her taking it in the first place. No one else can use it if she's holding on to it, after all. Though that would't preclude any other soldiers radioing in their own sightings.

…not much she can do about that, though.

She followed the flash of green when she spotted it, listening and watching for any further signs, and picked up speed when she heard the roars. Whatever this was, she wanted to know.

As she moved forward she would come to the source of the mighty roar. His hair was silver and while his features suggested something close to human his whole body rippled with a dangerous power. He waved a claw through the air and the soldiers before him erupted in fire as flare lit beneath their feet.

The young Terra ran to the mans side hiding behind him as more soldiers came to meet him in battle. Magitck armor rose around him but he didn't appear to concerned by it.

There was a shout and the young Terra ran out of sight once more. Maduin, the young girls father, turned towards K'pandolu as if setting her in his sights. He roared again this time shouting over the collection of soldiers. "STAY AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER!" Power rippled in waves around him as if it was about to come crashing down.

Was that- Ifrit? No… another. What was the name the woman had said?

But the sense of power around him was strong enough that surely even one who had never previously encountered a primal would know, and it drove all thought of that out of her head.

"Hold!" She held out her empty hands, speaking quickly, hoping most of all for time. "I am no imperial! My name is K'pandolu Tohka, of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, and I come here seeking to aid your child! If you allow it, I would defend her with you."

The irony of asking that did not escape her, and she prayed that whatever it was that allowed the primals of Eorzea to sense the defeat of others wouldn't reach this being. Still, she felt this was most likely to be what she was here to do.

There was a dark laugh as he looked at the woman before him. Whatever he saw it wasn't who K'pandolu said. "Lies. You are darkness. Calling us monsters. See who the real monster is." His muscles ripple and change. Sickening popping sounds ring out as his body grows.

"I will show you what monsters we can truly be." Maduin grew to his full size, his power unleashed as he looked down at her. A growl rippled through his chest and his newly formed teeth snapped seeing her only as prey.

Slowly knights appeared as if preparing for the final battle with this monster. Maduin was beyond reason. His home was dying around him and all because of the fear of men. Fear in a power that wasn't theirs.

K'pandolu hissed, one hand going to her claws. She'd never even seen a transformation like this. How was it possible? But the fact of the matter was, now she had him to deal with- and none of her companions. Those soldiers were there, but she didn't want to rely on them, even if they could defeat this beast. Y'shtola would have made a better assessment of the situation, without her advice, K'pandolu had to make her own decision.

She held her ground for a few more moments, then shook her head, reaching for the power to strengthen her defences. His words reminded her of Titan, summoned in the name of protecting the kobolds, and she knew first hand how dreadful the primals could be. "I'm the last person you need to say that to. And I believe I'm not your enemy. If you want to fight- look around you!"

She didn't bother gesturing, keeping her eyes on Maduin, waiting to see what would come next.

He didn't seem to hear her words as the soldiers around him formed into lines. To him she was just another, standing among them like she belonged in that twisted culture.

A loud roar echoed from his chest as lighting pulsed from his body. He held has hands out and the power was unleashed aimed at those who have collected around him. K'pandolu was in his path seeing her as a soldier and paying her no mind. She can run from him but if she stays he will fight and she was positioned to get hit either intentional or not.

The soldiers around her fell and men in armor took their place reading missiles at the great beast they sought to destroy.

That was undoubtedly a mistake, staying where there were imperials about. She made an effort to defend herself all the same, arms up and turned away to try and keep from taking the worst of the attack. It still hurt, worse than she remembered Ifrit's flames being, and she wondered- was he possessed of more than two elements?

But this was hardly the time for such thoughts. She stared up at Maduin for a moment, debating, then glanced at the soldiers around her and decided. These ones seemed distracted, but for how long? And there were others, surely…

She took a few steps back, and activated Fists of the Wind, to aid her movement. Then, taking a moment to centre herself, she ran- moving around the soldiers as best they can, in the direction she remembered the young girl heading.

Elements weren't so restricted to those who could use magic in the Esper world. Terra herself took on aspects of her father being able to use fire and lighting as well as a bunch of other spells.

The war waged on as the soldiers continued to beat down the terrifying beast. Even without K'pandolu's help he would be defeated like he had 13 years before. Another loud roar echoed through the world as K'pandolu ran towards the young girl. She wouldn't find her and each step away from the conflict made the world slowly vanish.

First the sky and then the mountains in the background. After a moment only K'pandolu was left and then she was ejected from the dream.
