Summary: The Heroes of Light relive some of their worst memories, with a twist. All characters participating in this will be physically missing from Crystallis for the duration of the event.
Warning: It depends on the memory.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.

"Kali Shashidhwaja."

Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.

And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.

This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

The wolf turned to see the blond man, shifting into a defensive stance. An enemy? With a low growl, Link seemed to warn the stranger that if he meant them any harm... that would be met with teeth and claws alike.

The rumbling in the wolf's throat alerted Midna to someone else's presence. Her vision was blurred, foggy and hazy because of the over exposure to light. "Wh..." the words caught in her throat, but she forced them out in a breathy whisper, "who...?"

Cloud raised a hand and took a half step back, trying to calm the wolf. He didn't want to fight it. He was pretty sure it wouldn't go well for him in any case.

"Uh...Midna...right? It's me, Cloud. One of the other Heroes." He winced as he talked to her. She sounded worse than she looked. "I....how can I help?"

Cloud... heroes... something about all of that meant something, she was sure of it, but the pounding sensation behind her eyes was starting to numb now instead. If there was even a fraction of a chance he could help, then...

"Pl... please," laying on her stomach, she lifted a shaking arm, her small pointed fingers twitching as she gestured towards the castle in the distance.

Turning his head sharply, the wolf's ears twitched as he focused on something in the distance... three goblins charging their way. Jumping to the side quickly, Link just managed to avoid being hit by the flaming arrow sent their way, as he barked loudly, heading towards them to attack.

Of all things, the goblins were actually a welcome presence. Cloud wanted to help but he wasn't sure what to do. Taking the wounded hero from the back of the wolf was probably something that would have gotten his hand bitten off. With the approaching monsters, Cloud now had an alternate way to contribute.

He unslung his rifle and took aim, backpedaling to put some steps between himself and then before firing at one. The shot was a solid one and the goblin dropped like a stone. "GO@ I'll take care of them!"

He may have been a stranger, but if he was going to take down the golins, then he was a welcome one. Link ripped at the throat of one he had lunged at, and once satisfied that it wouldn't rise again -- jumped off with a "Rarf!" in Cloud's direction.

Off he ran towards the castle, meeting more of the pests from the front as well.

There were enough goblins and not enough cover that Cloud knew he couldn't stand and fight for too long. Long enough to let the others escape though. Another shot and another goblin dropped. He risked a glance over his shoulder at the wolf.

"GO! GET HER OUT OF HERE! I'LL CATCH UP!"

Pressing forward with another kick of his back legs, Link ploughed into the group of goblins in front of him with his head down. When he felt Midna losing her grip, he chanced a nudge back to try and get her body more centred on top of him... and met with a solid wall in the process.

From where he'd been forced to stop, the wolf shook his head free of the stars the impact had inflicted, and stepping in front of Midna, who now lay on the ground, protectively.

Pillars engraved and pulsating with a red magic fell from the sky, revealing a barrier around all three of them.

Cloud heard Link's reaction to the impact more than the impact itself. Seeing the wolf knocked silly while trying to keep his passenger balanced pulled Cloud's focus from his fight. He gave a nearby goblin a kick himself and then moved to kneel beside the metamorphosed hero.

"Are you okay? Do you want me to carry..." He stopped as he watched the pillars fall, looking around in confusion, "What is this? What's going on now?"

From the ground, Midna coughed and sputtered as though trying to say something -- using all the strength she could to reach out her small hand towards the two of them.

Link's eyes shifted from side to side, anticipating the arrival of the creatures of Twilight -- from the opening in the sky that appeared above them. Three Shadow Beasts appeared, as though on cue, one a short distance away, and one focused on Link.

The other, turned its sights on Cloud.

Cloud's hand rose in kind, offering an open palm for Midna to take.

The contact only lasted the barest of seconds though before they found themselves interrupted by the approaching creatures. Cloud turned and raised his rifle once more but his eyes had less steel in them now. These were clearly not like the goblins from before. The masks they wore were especially ominous.

"Take her and go....I'll....figure something out..."
