Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.
"Kali Shashidhwaja."
Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.
And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.
This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

Unfortunately, simply charging the sorcerer in question seemed easier said than done. "If we take care of these ones, can you get through to him?" If he was from Robin's world and her enemy, it made sense to appoint her as the priority fighter, especially since Ven could handle large numbers at once even on his own.

She glanced to the side at the lord, as his blade cleaved into the chest of another Risen. It burst into smoke as she he wrenched the blade free. "Chrom!" she said. "Ventus will help us get through these!" The blue-haired man looked up and blinked; then he glanced briefly at Ven. Robin asked him: "Are you ready?"
"I am," Chrom said. He looked back at Ventus and smiled. "You have my thanks, friend."

Anise swatted several Risen away as she approached. Her usual Black Mage attire had been swapped with a decidedly more pink garb, and she was riding on a rather large stuffed animal, about two or three times her size. It appeared to be able to move on its own.
There was something about the place (and the entire situation) that made Anise feel off. The enemy was pretty obvious, but that didn't make what they were fighting any less creepy or gross. What were this things, anyway? Were the glowing red eyes really necessary?
Thankfully, they seemed pretty easy to take care of. For the moment, she'll do what she can, and help Ventus clear out a path for Robin and Chrom.

The same could be said of the girl, but she looked as out-of-place as Ven did and that suggested she was another observer; either way, he flashed her the same smile.
"Sure, we could use it!" Glancing at Robin, he added resolutely, "We'll go on ahead and handle these guys. You two focus on the leader!" Those weren't orders as much as the first thing that came to mind and made the most sense, so after a nod at Anise to say he was ready, Ven darted forward to drive back the next line of Risen with a stream of fire that whipped out ahead of him.

She started running forward, her sword gripped in hand. The tactician covered for Anise; when a Risen came at them, her blade sweeped into its side. The steel sword lodged there for a moment, before the Risen shuddered and burst into so much dust around the sword.
Chrom, in the mean time, ran in next to Ven. His sword flashed out, chopping into a second Risen, and bringing it down.
Validar turned when he saw the lot of them approaching. The tall, gaunt sorcerer's eyes lit up with anger as he swung a hand out. Inky darkness swirled around it, like a black and foul mist, before he hurled a bolt of pure darkness straight towards Ven. "Your numbers," he hissed, "mean nothing! I will fell the lot of you here!"

Anise nods towards Robin. She wasn't sure, but the white-haired tactician seemed pretty familiar. Had she met her in Chrysallis before? It did kinda seem like it was her dream, given how well she knew everything.
Now she had a better look at the sorcerer, though, and wow was he even creepier than she first imagined. He definitely gave off the vibe of someone who would raise the dead, and normal necks didn't look like that.
At any rate, it looked like he was attacking one of them, and that really wasn't okay. She rushes over with Tokunaga, trying to pull her companion out of the way.
"Hey! Look out!"

Amid the chaos, that bolt of darkness was spotted a second too late and Ven prepared to do his best to block it -- only for the attack to pass harmlessly (if narrowly) by as he was abruptly tugged aside. He shot his rescuer a grateful smile -- he still wasn't sure what the giant doll thing was about, but it certainly worked, and Ven rarely judged anyway -- and a nod. "Thanks!"
He'd barely gotten that out when another couple Risen loomed up near them. Ven instantly shifted and dashed between them, but with a roundhouse swing of his Keyblade that left more flames in its wake to send them both crashing to the ground in burning heaps.

The Risen collapsed when Ventus struck them. They stayed clear of him -- partly because of where Validar focused his firepower -- and they came rushing for Chrom and Robin. Falchion swung out, cutting through another, and then he leaped into the air to stab down into another Risen.
Robin jumped back from the axe swing of one. She threw her hand out -- and lightning caught it in the chest. The zombie flew back, slamming into the wall, before it burst apart into dust. She started running a moment later, darting towards Validar's side.

Even though Anise is able to jerk Tokunaga to the side to dodge the brunt of the blow, the momentum is a little too much, and she's sent tumbling to the floor in the process.
She shoots a glare at the sorcerer before hastily climbing back up on the stuffed animal and twirling her staff. There was no way they were gonna lose to a bunch of weird zombies.
"Feel the hammer of light! Limited!"
Anise aims the attack so that it'll take care of any of the Risen that Ventus missed; the ground sparks as a beam of light falls from the ceiling, causing light damage.

"Go!" As he cast it, several anti-gravity orbs spun into existence around him, whirling outwards with Ven at the center. In their wake was a field of magic that stretched a decent distance in all directions; any Risen caught within its limits would be pinned in place, assaulted under the weight of the magic, and those who survived would be hurled backwards at a crippling speed. He was careful to make sure none would crash into his allies, at least; no sense in clearing the area if he wasn't careful about it.

A few staggered, but most were handled. That left Validar, who nimbly threw a bolt of lightning into the charging Robin. She yelped as she flew back, hitting the ground with a thump.
He turned, then, and loosed two bolts of darkness -- one for Ventus, one for Anise. "Your strange magic won't be enough," he snarled at them. "I'll handle you!"
no subject
Speaking of which, ugly-looking guy. Bolt of darkness. She should do something about that.
"Guardian!"
As the spell came closer, Anise tucked back into Tokunaga and was enveloped in light. It wouldn't block all the damage, but it'd stop enough that she wouldn't have to worry for a bit.
After the attack, she throws a worried glance in Robin's direction; that last attack looked like it hurt. A lot. She didn't really have any healing spells, but what she could do was keep the enemy busy while Robin recovered.
She charges forward with Tokunaga, trying to catch the sorcerer in an uppercut.
"Surge Breaker!"
no subject
With the immediate Risen cleared, it seemed best to hang back as the spellcaster while the others charged forward. Taking aim at the sorcerer himself, Ven cast Blizzara since he had a straight shot from where he stood.
no subject
He let out a yelp, and came rolling up to his feet. His eyes locked onto Ventus's, as he saw the blast of ice coming. He threw out another bolt of shadow, this one catching the ice and blowing it apart before it got in close.
The Cura that Ven cast got Robin back on her feet, though. She started to run in, too, one hand on her side. It still ached from where the blast of shade caught her. She had the sword gripped in her hand; her eyes narrowed sharply. It would take a second for her to close the distance, though.
"Thanks!" she called to Ven.
Validar turned, firing a blast of darkness for Anise again. Then he turned, and loosed one for Robin, but she leaped over this one.
sorry for the wait!
It didn't make her any less angry, though. "I'll get you for that!" Before attacking, she glances back towards Robin. If the tactician was rushing up behind her, that meant that she had to keep the Sorcerer busy for the time being. No problem.
She rushes forward again, intent on catching Validar in another attack.
"Guardian!"
A small circle of light emits from under her. It wasn't a terribly powerful attack, but hopefully it would be enough to get Validar to stagger while Robin closed the distance.

--his actual Keyblade. It wasn't just a throw, since it was also subtly guided by wind magic, but the effect was the same: faster than his previous spells, it wound around Robin's path, seeking to hit Validar from the side. Even if it was countered, it would at least divert his focus further.
No worries!
Then Robin was on him. She stabbed her sword into his side. The sorcerer let out a scream, as the blade pushed between his ribs. When the tactician drew her blade free, it was slick with blood.
He shot off a spell into her -- the blast of darkness hit Robin, hurtling her back and to the floor -- but it was a last bit of defiance. He crumpled to the ground after that. Blood pooled underneath him, then.
