Event || In Your Worst Memory

Characters: All Heroes of Light. Only those who signed-up can start a memory.
Where: Interdimensional Rift
When: May 27th - May 30th
Summary: The Heroes of Light relive some of their worst memories, with a twist. All characters participating in this will be physically missing from Crystallis for the duration of the event.
Warning: It depends on the memory.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.

"Kali Shashidhwaja."

Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.

And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.

This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

"Surely if I can't someone can? Maybe Yunie?" She refuses to think nothing can be done. Fayth spirits...they were more her cousin's categories - perhaps she could get through.

The last words summon a frown, "It's not your job to help me, you should focus on making yourself happy." She shifts uncomfortably, "I'm fine."

A look of bewilderment crosses the Al Bhed's features. She certainly does not recall seeing the girl before - and Rikku is good with faces. Only recently having come in contact with the ethereal and spiritual on the Pilgrimage, the mechanic prefers the tangible. So, she reaches for a face.

Only, the girl before her is more than just a girl. The guardian has only dealt with something more since arriving in this new world once...when she was possessed and played like a puppet, forced to kill her summoner...her family, after touching a dark crystal.

Clover eyes flicker warily, side to side. There's simply no way she can equate that...creature with the child in front of her. Right? In her head it always had to be some monstrous fiend. Nevertheless, she finds herself taking a hesitant step back. She wets her lips.

"...No? No. When."

It wasn't fair. The Al Bhed never really expected to be able to meet whatever had taken her over. She'd played it through in her mind though, as ridiculously outmatched as the young thief was it always involved her attacking. Seeking vengeance for the terrible things it had made her do. Yet how could she, when...

Overwhelmed, Rikku sinks to her hands and knees. Staring at her puppet master. Why did it have to have the face of a child? As much as the Spiran knew it was far more than that, there was no way she could raise her fists and try to strike. It warred with the nature of those she wanted to protect the most. Swallowing the lump in her throat, her voice trembles, "Wh..."

So many things she wanted to ask. She had not been privy to the creature's thoughts, she wanted to know why. Yet, what did intentions matter? Rikku was not one to dwell on the past - normally. These memories, these horrible misdeeds, did keep her prisoner more than most. You can't fix the past though. She should use this time, to try to help the future. "Memories are just memories..." She says it, but there's no truth in her voice. That Al Bhed creed was getting harder to believe in. "What...are you?" It's hard for her to keep looking at the creature in front of her, but she forces herself not to look away.

"The...dark crystals that possessed other heroes?" The child had said it was only Rikku she was close to, and not others, "Were they something like you? Is there a way to stop that from happening?" If she could find a way to stop dark crystals, stop innocent people from being harmed - it would help make up for some of the crimes she felt she committed. It would be, better than revenge.
