Event || In Your Worst Memory

Characters: All Heroes of Light. Only those who signed-up can start a memory.
Where: Interdimensional Rift
When: May 27th - May 30th
Summary: The Heroes of Light relive some of their worst memories, with a twist. All characters participating in this will be physically missing from Crystallis for the duration of the event.
Warning: It depends on the memory.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.

"Kali Shashidhwaja."

Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.

And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.

This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

This world is capable of drawing us here from many different points in time. After death is probably just another time it can draw from. But thanks.

"Just so." She looked back at the screen for a moment before she had to turn away. It was just too disturbing - Ashelia had seen a lot of death in her life, had herself ended many, many lives, but the way these images were stylized, the chaotic music...

She shook her head, holding back a shudder. "My...my husband lies in crystal stasis at the bottom of the Heran Research Facility. I've often wondered if he would be in the same situation..."

The queen sighed. Not the time. "The transition for you must have been jarring, indeed."

[Disturbing is, of course, the entire point. Murders and executions are bad enough, but Monokuma always made sure every death was a spectacle that could never be truly forgotten.]

...Oh. I'm sorry.

[She can't think of what else to say to something like that, but her sympathetic frown is as genuine as she can make it.]

It was really strange at first, yeah.

"Have you...found new purpose, at least?" the queen asked haltingly. "That you continue on at all speaks to your integrity and willpower, but without such a purpose..."

Yeah. I'm going to do my best for this world's future too. I wasn't able to save all of my friends at home, so as long as I'm here I want to make sure no one has to die or fall into despair.

"From the sounds of things, your actions here could do much more to save them than anything you could have done before," Ashelia responded. "Death is never easy to weather, let alone your own; there is nothing for it but to keep moving. Onwards and upwards, yes?"

Maybe. The situation in my world is already really complicated and desperate. But I trust the people I left behind. If anyone can finish the work of saving and rebuilding it, it's them.
