Event || In Your Worst Memory

Characters: All Heroes of Light. Only those who signed-up can start a memory.
Where: Interdimensional Rift
When: May 27th - May 30th
Summary: The Heroes of Light relive some of their worst memories, with a twist. All characters participating in this will be physically missing from Crystallis for the duration of the event.
Warning: It depends on the memory.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.

"Kali Shashidhwaja."

Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.

And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.

This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

Rikku gave an encouraging nod, rising from the ground in tandem.

After Yuffie unleashes her spell, the Al Bhed reaches into her alchemy pouch to pull out a grenade. "That's the spirit." She had not known the ninja long, but Rikku hated to see her prison mate held captive by such awful memories. So the thief pulled the pin with her teeth and lets it fly, shouting at the guards all the while. Rikku would fight beside Yuffie now, as she wanted to but could not back then.

It lands with perfect precision at the feet of the soldiers as they get ready to fire off another round at the young child, though it does nothing more than the ice attack, the explosion makes them temporarily invisible in the resulting blast -- the percussion as it goes off drowns out the repeat sound of their guns this round.

Yuffie continued casting Ice and then she started to punch the air. She put everything into every swing of her arm, every frustration and ever pain that held her in that awful place.

She threw her arms to her sides tapping into one more matiera. "Shiva!" The ice summon comes down and covers the scene in ice before disappearing once more. Yuffie fell to her knees having finally exhausted herself. She was to tired to feel anything and all that was left was a numb feeling. She looked back at Rikku.

"I haven't stop blaming myself." It was a general statement but she felt that she could face it now, with all the other feelings out of the way.

Rikku's hand rests lightly atop Yuffie's shoulder as the dark haired thief catches her breath. "I can understand that." The dark truth of her words is evident in the girl's tone. In many ways Rikku blamed herself for what happened at Home. For being on a Pilgrimage with Yevonites and not being there to protect her people, for the cascade of events that seemed to lead the Guado to their doors. There were no quick fixes for survivors guilt, unwarranted as it may be.

"But, it was good to see you fighting. Not giving up."

Yuffie looked over at Rikku and grinned. "I really suck at giving up." Rikku was one of the few who's seen Yuffie reach her breaking point, even then she hadn't wanted to give up. She fought, she cried but she hadn't thought her soul was crushed.

Luffy had made her think her soul was broken and that annoyed her more than anything else. It was why she fought with him, trying to convince him and herself that he was wrong. Her determination always saw her through.

She felt a single tear roll down her cheek as the dream slowly began to fade to darkness. Yuffie couldn't say why but it was as if her determination was fighting back the painful repetition. The houses faded, then the soldiers, her mother and then the young girl.

Yuffie looked at Rikku one more time with a smile. "I guess it's over." Her words were distant like an echo as Yuffie disappeared too. The pair now thrown their separate ways into new memories.
