Event || In Your Worst Memory

Characters: All Heroes of Light. Only those who signed-up can start a memory.
Where: Interdimensional Rift
When: May 27th - May 30th
Summary: The Heroes of Light relive some of their worst memories, with a twist. All characters participating in this will be physically missing from Crystallis for the duration of the event.
Warning: It depends on the memory.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.

"Kali Shashidhwaja."

Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.

And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.

This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

Only one thing could stop the woman and her storming hair, and lest those men learned to jump meters in the air to stop her, well, they'd not be any time soon. Tazendra was left to work offense as the woman descended upon them, surely frightening the masses as she approached.

And perhaps moreso as she touched down on the ground, standing proudly and utterly unfazed by their efforts to stop them at this point. It was only Taz herself that stopped her from totally wiping them from the battle field, and off into some other county as their carried on the wind.

Landing meant that they could be approached, but the winds had knocked away most of the soldiers. The only two that remained were clearly guarding the entrance to the tent-topped wagon, swords drawn and free hands gripped to the wagon structure for support. "Halt! Come no further."

Tazendra nodded to them. Last time, she'd come with Khaavren to arrest Prince Adron. Here... well, she wasn't exactly an enemy. She'd acted in self-defense. Perhaps she should have made signs she wanted to parley. Well, too late now. "We bring a message for Prince Adron." How much time did they have left? Should she just charge in? She recalled these guards would be killed by her past self and that of her friends.

The guards exchanged a look. On the one hand, these were obviously two sorceresses. On the other, Tazendra's House was clearly visible, even if there was some doubt if her companion was even human. A Dzurlord had all the deceptive ability of a sack of stones. The first guard spoke. "Identify yourselves, sheathe your weapons, and give your parole, and we will see if His Highness can be interrupted."

"Weapons... I'll not cut my hair nor clip my nails." she says, a bit on the aggressive side as she raises her hand and shows her nails. She wore too little to be carrying a weapon or dagger. Sure, perhaps in her hair but... that would be cumbersome.

As for identifying. "I'm not of your world. I am Valvalis, Elemental Lord of Wind, and I come at behest of my companion. So show your respect."

As much as she can be angry and authoritative, were those the right words for the act?

"It doesn't matter who you are," the guard said. "His Highness can't be disturbed."

"Bah," Tazendra said. "This is taking too long. Valvalis, if you could clear these two from the area..."

She suspects the two are expecting they will attack, and not anticipate a less violent attempt. And wind could launch someone a long way...

It could launch them well away, and leave them safe, or crippled. Val preferred somewhere in the middle as a wave of her hand sends a strong gust toppling the two men over and rolling back a ways, the impact and thrashing leaving them, one way or another, incapacitated.

"Like so?" she says, falling in step behind the Baroness.

"Just so!" Tazendra strode into the tent.

There was a man crouched there, fair of skin and hair, but still having the height that marked Tazendra's people. His hands were positioned over a collection of blue-purple opalescent stones; both he and the stones were glowing and he was deep enough in concentration that he had not registered the intrusion.

Tazendra looked them over. She'd learned a lot in the hundreds of years since first seeing Lord Adron work Elder Sorcery. The spell was quite advanced, but she couldn't yet tell if it was finished. "Your Highness! You must stop this at once!"

He looked up, his eyes almost seeming to be glowing with the same light. "I'm sorry. You are too late. The spell has just taken effect." He seemed relaxed. Perhaps a little smug, but like he was trying to downplay it.

Behind Tazendra and Valvalis, the arrival of another party was evident.

"Oh dear... seems like I should've moved faster. I'm sorry Tazendra." she pouts as people head into the tent. Were she to 'dismiss' them as she had others before, the whole tent would be blown away as a consequence. After all, the wind simply can't start from inside and blow out.

Well, it could but it would still take the tent with it as a consequence. "Do you mind, we're having a private conversation here." she huffs as she steps up towards the invading party.

The invading party was the Tazendra from the past and her friends, one clearly wounded. The wounded one staggered forward, causing the present Tazendra to pause, reaching out tot he man as if to support him. He spoke as he approached Adron. "Your Highness, I have the honor to arrest you in the name of His Majesty; please give me your sword and come with me." He didn't seem to register the fact that one of his companions was duplicated, nor that Valvalis was present.

"Bah," the present Tazendra said. "There is no time for that, Khaavren." She looked at Adron. "You must end the spell quickly."

"Even if I wished to, which I do not, it is beyond my control," Adron said.

Valvalis might not sense it, and the three men with the past Tazendra certainly didn't, but both versions of Tazendra and Adron startle. "What was that?" the two phantoms of the past said, with Adron adding, "It was not of my doing."

Present Tazendra looked down. "We are now decidedly too late."

[OOC: I'd say one more comment of plot is in this memory before it loops, but Val is free to ask what the hell.]

"So now the thing we came to stop shall come to pass. It would have been nice to see the better outcome." she huffs, waving a hand at the invading guards and sending them, and probably the tent outside.

"So... what is it we should prepare for. There's chance for the two of us to escape, is there not?"

"Bide," Tazendra reached for the Orb to cast a teleport spell, without considering that the spell Adron had cast was seriously messing up the source of her magic, and trying to use it without the filter was what had made things so dire. Thankfully, she had enough sense to realize she couldn't have the power and control to get even herself clear. "I cannot. The range of destruction will outpace even you, my friend."

Adron had left them for the moment, his head bowed as if he'd realized exactly what was about to happen. He'd drawn the few people he could together -- really, only the people Valvalis had knocked down, including Tazendra's past self. He beckoned the current Tazendra and Valvalis over. "Take hands, all of you, if you value your lives."

The glow was getting bright enough to blind, and the ambient power around clear enough to sense.

After everyone was in place... Adron looked at them all one last time. "Farewell. And, don't tell them I meant well."

* * *

the teleport was disorienting enough to knock most people on their backs, but Tazendra was up right away. Because even before she opened her eyes, she knew that events hadn't continued. It was morning, they were back to the hill she arrived at, the armies were preparing to fight, her past self was dismounting some distance away, and she could feel the Orb humming along in her mind as if it wasn't about to be ripped out of the universe to save it.

"Blood of the Horse. This is the same place we were but an hour ago, and at the same time."

She didn't understand what was going on here. Though, perhaps revisiting her own past twice wasn't that much stranger than once. "Valvalis? Are you present?"

And now we're at the end!♥

Val took playful offense to being told she couldn't get away fast enough. However she played along with the warning and took hands with Taz and some other. At least the man who'd ruined everything apologized, but why tell them to say he didn't mean well... perhaps for reputation?

Well, no matter...

---

Because she was awake now. Awake in her bed, looking about as though expecting it to be part of a dream. She'd left Tazendra behind in her own dream.
