Event || In Your Worst Memory

Characters: All Heroes of Light. Only those who signed-up can start a memory.
Where: Interdimensional Rift
When: May 27th - May 30th
Summary: The Heroes of Light relive some of their worst memories, with a twist. All characters participating in this will be physically missing from Crystallis for the duration of the event.
Warning: It depends on the memory.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.

"Kali Shashidhwaja."

Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.

And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.

This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

"It might be a little hard to steal my thunder," Robin said with a wink. She tapped her tome. She could have an ego, especially on the battlefield, even with a heart filled with dread. She nodded, then, and looked out at the battlefield -- and Validar.

He was also staring in confusion, before he raised his hand to begin preparing a spell. Darkness gathered around his hand.

"Spells of that size are rare on this world, sir," she said. "You might have caught his--" Validar let out a loud, piercing cry. A bolt of darkness exploded from his hand, hurtling towards Jade. "--attention!"

Jade reacted quickly, throwing out a hand and calling out: "Magic Guard!" A shield appeared around him for little more than a second, just long enough to absorb the incoming spell when it hit. Not without any pain, though -- a burning sensation ran up the arm creating the shield, making Jade grimace. It seemed their adversary was not to be taken lightly.

"Looks like your friend is getting impatient," he said. He glanced at Robin. "What do you suggest?"

Robin took a moment to consider, before she nodded. "He's impressed with your power. If you can make a show, I can get around him," she said -- even as she hurled a blast of lightning that Validar sidestepped. It was more to cover her voice than hurt. "Then we can flank him and hit him as one."

"Very well. Leave it to me." If it was a show she wanted, then Jade had no intention of disappointing. Validar wouldn't be able to take his attention away, not if he wanted to live. Darkness, was it...?

"O Sword of conviction, loose the might of your brilliant colors! Prism Sword!" Six crystals fell to the ground around Validar's position, refracting light between one another until a seventh crystal struck from above in a blinding explosion.

Validar wasn't an unpracticed sorcerer. He knew how to defend himself, but he wasn't prepared to do it from many angles. He hurled bolts of shadow at three of the six crystals, casting his spells quickly. The bolts of shadow connected with them, but not in time to stop the last from coming down. It struck into Validar, knocking the sorcerer to the side.

He raised his hand, snarling. Shadow swirled and gathered around him, while pulses of purple lightning crackled over his hand. His eyes lit up hatefully.

But true to her word, Robin took advantage of the larger attack to fire one of her own. She sent a blast of lightning for the sorcerer's side. It slammed into him, then pierced through. He screamed and collapsed into a heap on the floor, leaving Robin staring at him.

Validar didn't rise back up. "We did it, sir."

"That wasn't too bad."

In fact, it seemed a little too easy. Every memory Jade had seen so far had involved either severe danger or some sort of psychological stress. Even with the undead horde, this had hardly been that different from any other battle.

He had a bad feeling about this.
