Event || In Your Worst Memory

Characters: All Heroes of Light. Only those who signed-up can start a memory.
Where: Interdimensional Rift
When: May 27th - May 30th
Summary: The Heroes of Light relive some of their worst memories, with a twist. All characters participating in this will be physically missing from Crystallis for the duration of the event.
Warning: It depends on the memory.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.

"Kali Shashidhwaja."

Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.

And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.

This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

Morgan doesn't know how much time passes either, but only because he doesn't particularly care. If it meant helping a fellow hero through their dream, he was willing to wait as long as it took.

He can't help but feel relieved when Yuffie sticks her head out of the coat, however. This dream was pretty rough; even with a shield, Morgan was almost afraid that she wouldn't be able to handle it.

"Why would he blame you? None of this was your fault." It's not so much the comment itself, but rather the ease and naturalness with which its spoken that convey Morgan's sincerity.

Yuffie shook her head retreating against the soft fabric of the coat. She hadn't thought she would find comfort in this sort of thing but for the moment she was glad. Glad she met this boy and glad that he had given her something to hold on to. It reminded her that she was here.

"He was so angry with me. I couldn't behave. I couldn't be the princess that he wanted me to be."

She couldn't be the princess that her mother wanted to be either. How could such a sacrifice be worth it if it meant that the ruler her country loved had to die.

He pauses before responding; that was pretty tough to answer. But, they'd already made this much progress, and Morgan wasn't about to give up now.

"I don't think he was angry with you, necessarily, maybe he was angry at the situation? It's not easy being king, especially when your country's at war." This was a notion that Morgan wasn't entirely unfamiliar with.

"But you were just a kid, and I think he knew that too. Whatever he said back then, he might regret it now."

Yuffie knew that her father loved her but he was always harsh. He didn't know how to communicate and he didn't try when it came to Yuffie. He had a country to run and people to worry about. She assumed that her mother had been the one to temper the sharp steel of his voice but with her gone there was no one between them.

She couldn't understand her father just as her father couldn't understand her.

"I don't know..." It was the hardest thing to admit. That she didn't know how her father felt or that she didn't understand. Yuffie was so used to pretending that she knew all of the answers.

Her grip on the jacket tightened as red puffy eyes looked up at Morgan. She was lying on the ground now and her long black hair was fanning around her head in messy clumps.

Looking at Yuffie, it was clear that she was still pretty upset. Morgan couldn't blame her, but finding the right words to comfort her was proving harder and harder. He didn't really know what to say but maybe, maybe that was it!

"You know what? I think that's okay. Not knowing, I mean." Morgan relaxed, and sat down beside her. He'd definitely been through a bit of that himself; granted, his relationship with his father wasn't as strained, but he still struggled to put together what his (young) parents thought of him, as well as piece together the parts of his memory that were missing.

"Family can be really complicated, and sometimes you don't know. But it sounds like you tried, at least, and I think that's enough."

Yuffie curled up next to Moran nuzzling against his side like a kitten. She didn't want to feel alone.

"I just want my dad to love me..." The words were soft and she felt her heart jump in her chest as she spoke. It was something that the young princess has tried to avoid facing but it was the truth. She wanted her father to be proud of her, to respect her and to love her. She knew that the first two were true after returning to Wutai but she never felt like she really earned his love.

He was also a warrior and after her mother died he stopped showing the softer side of himself. Only she was able to really get him to relax.
