When: May 27th - May 30th
Summary: The Heroes of Light relive some of their worst memories, with a twist. All characters participating in this will be physically missing from Crystallis for the duration of the event.
Warning: It depends on the memory.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.

"Kali Shashidhwaja."

Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.

And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.

This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

Cloud hesitated. Why would he run? They should both get out of here, right? Or at least he'd help her escape. All too noble, and the hesitation turned to shock as he watched her change form in front of him. He moved back at her push, but he was still kneeling between her and Maduin with his mouth gaping.

Thanks to his memories of the other timeline he knew that she had another form, but to see her change into it was something else entirely.

And then the spell was cast. The young blonde began to turn, looking at the oncoming energy just before everything turned topsy turvy. He tumbled across the ground only getting singed by errant blasts thanks to Terra. Dazed, it took him a few seconds to look up and call out to her.

"TERRA!" Frantically he looked to Maduin next, praying he wasn't about to cast that spell again.

Maduin roared in triumph. Terra laid still across the hard ground. She tried to move but her muscles screamed in pain. Her fur was singed and it was obvious that she was hurt though she wasn't dead yet. A growl rose in her chest as bright red eyes turned and looked towards Maduin.

It was as if the Terra Cloud knew was lost.

Maduin roared again readying another attack as Terra slowly moved to her hands and feet.

Lost or not, someone had attacked some he wanted to think of as a friend. They didn't have the closest bond, and he was probably one of the few people close to Sephiroth who was amusingly blind to the bond forming between those two. But none of that mattered. She was a fellow hero and someone he hoped to call friend.

Even as Terra began to move in response to Maduin's preparations, Cloud was already back up and taking aim. He fired a shot at the Esper before ducking his head to shouldercheck the beastman in the chest.

Maduin towered over Cloud but his attack was enough to disrupt whatever spell he had been getting ready to cast. As if by magic men in armor and soldiers appeared around Cloud taking aim at the mighty Esper that was reaching for the small blond haired boy. Before he could attack again they fired, riddling his body with bullets and open wounds.

A horrifying scream echoed from his chest as his tail flicked and destroyed the soldiers behind him, and yet, even as he fought more appeared until he was outnumbered by their forces.

Terra appeared to be invisible to them all now. She had fallen back to the ground and was slowly turning back into the green haired girl that Cloud knew. There was no screaming as her body shifted and changed. She was to tired to scream.

Stunning Maduin was a boost to Cloud's confidence. He was still terrified but at least he had done something to help. That's when the soldiers showed up and Cloud's horror turned in their direction as the bullets began to fly.

He wanted to stop this creature. He wanted to help Terra. But he didn't want to hurt this thing like this. Deep down he was sure that he didn't have the full picture of this but...

Realizing there was nothing he could do to help Maduin he rushed to Terra's side, kneeling down beside her. "Come on. We have to go."

Terra was to tired to move and she was only vaguely aware of the activities around her. She didn't know the state of her father or the ferocity of the soldiers fire. Everything hurt and she felt wounds reopen as she shifted spilling warm blood from her body.

She whimpered softly shaking her head back and forth.

"Go.. run..." Her voice was only a whisper as she fell back to the ground.

Behind him Maduin was slowly becoming encased in a dark blue crystals and try as the soldiers might, nothing was getting through it.

Cloud couldn't just let it go. He remembered the faces of his fellow soldiers as they died at the hands of that AVALANCHE insurgent. It was supposed to be a simple escort mission. They weren't expecting someone with a Death materia on hand. In the end Cloud was the only one to survive and only because of that Turk.

He wasn't going to let Terra die here while there as something he could do.

Whether she wanted his help or not, he made to haul her up into a fireman's carry. It wasn't the best plan, but if she was left here then who knows what would happen.

There was a soft cry as Cloud moved her and he will quickly find that blood is pooling from her side as he moves her. It trails down her leg and then drips onto the ground as her life slowly slips away. Bright blue eyes look over at Cloud through long dark lashes as she tried to bring the world back into focus.

"Run...Leave ...Me."

She felt her body shiver and then as her world when dark the world around Cloud did as well. The soldiers disappeared and then the sky and the scenery around them. Soon it was only the glowing crystal of Maduin, Cloud and Terra who was slowly slipping from conscious.

A deep voice echoed from the crystal as Cloud moved away. "Protect my daughter..." Moment later that disappeared too and Cloud was valved into another memory with no knowledge of what happened to Terra.
