Event || In Your Worst Memory

Characters: All Heroes of Light. Only those who signed-up can start a memory.
Where: Interdimensional Rift
When: May 27th - May 30th
Summary: The Heroes of Light relive some of their worst memories, with a twist. All characters participating in this will be physically missing from Crystallis for the duration of the event.
Warning: It depends on the memory.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Everything around you freezes, nearly as if time itself stopped, as if the world was frozen in time. And before you have a chance to understand what is happening, you can hear a voice right behind you.

"Kali Shashidhwaja."

Should you turn around, you may see a child who seems to be the only one aside from you unaffected by what is happening. And as she stares right at you, it makes no doubt these strange words are aimed at you. But before you can reply to her, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you know it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, Crystallis vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see.

And once again you feel different: all the powers from your Jobs are fading. Not only that, but you might find that your Crystal is gone and your clothes back to what they were before you woke up in Crystallis. It is silent, cold and before long it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you... And yet, slowly the world reforms around you. The darkness fades away and a new world appears, yet at the same time this is not a world.

This is a memory. The question is, is it yours or that of someone else?

"How could, how could you!" Zant relinquished his grip just slightly, granting Zelda an opportunity to breathe while he continued to hang her in the air, stomping his feet in what appeared to be a bit of a tantrum. When that finally passed, he pointed accusingly towards the imp.

"Still your tongue for a moment, whelp! You dare not speak of my god so easily! I will tell you of both magic and the oppression of ages... The people of our tribe -- a tribe that mastered the arts of magic... were locked away in this world like insects in a cage! In the shadows we regressed, so much so that we soon knew neither anger nor hatred...nor even the faintest bloom of desire..." he shook his head woefully as he continued. "And all of it was the fault of a useless, do-nothing royal family that had resigned itself to this miserable half-existence!" A pause, as a scimitar was summoned in his hand, adding with a hiss, "I had served and endured in that depraved household for far too long, my impudent princess."

Zelda's fingers managed to curl some into his grip but it wouldn't stop him he he choose to squeeze with all his strength. She felt the cold rush of hair fill her lungs at Midna's distraction and in that moment her head cleared. The faint ringing tone fading as her thoughts gathered.

Princess?

She couldn't say anything though she has had more than enough guesses to understand. A world of darkness, a princess and a curse; Zelda's heart reached out towards Midna and yet the young goddess couldn't say a word.

Zelda kicked holding to land a blow to Zant's legs and have it be enough to release her but she also knows that strength wasn't something she had in comparison to others that she knew.

There was a small sound of defiance from the imp, and a louder growl from the wolf that she rode. Never taking her eyes off of Zant, she slipped from the sacred beast's back and eased herself onto the floor, making her moves carefully lest it trigger a further reaction from the depraved man that held all the cards.

Her eye flashed over to Zelda for a moment, though she wasn't able to keep the contact for long -- her feelings of shame overwhelmed any chance of looking the other girl in the eye for too long.

"You're wrong... you were wrong then, and you're wrong now... The path you've chosen will only lead the world to ruin, Zant! Both the light and the dark... And neither one is yours to control!"

As though on cue, the wolf leapt forward, teeth bared, heading straight for the false shadowy king.

With the beast jumping towards him, in tandem with the kicking that Zelda was doing, Zant released the blonde girl, slashing through the air with his unarmed hand. Link, as though repelled by the gesture, flew backwards, hitting the wall of the chamber hard and slumping to the ground. With a grunt, the wolf twitched, making the effort to try and rise again quickly.

"Foolish Midna... My Midna... as though you ever had any say in the matter..." and then there was a grin. A sickening, stomach-churning grin that revealed his sharp teeth as he wound backwards with his scimitar, laughing madly as he swung the blade down, aiming straight for Zelda's neck.

Zelda gasped as her knees crashed to the ground. The shock was enough to leave her frozen in place as her body reacted to the sudden jolt of pain. It hurt but she had to focus on Zant and Midna first and so she pushed the thought from her mind.

She turned towards Zant, her hair flaring out behind her in golden waves of sun. Her bright blue eyes widened as the flash of steel glinted off her skin. Everything froze and then she felt the bite of cold steal against her neck.

"Mid-"

It hurt but then the pain faded and everything was gone.

It all seemed to happen in slow motion, but no matter how slowly the time passed, Midna still couldn't move quickly enough. Even though her feet at left the ground and she was mid-jump, her eyes wide with panic, she was still too far away as the blade swished effortlessly through the air... and through Zelda.

Something warm and sticky hit Midna's cheek. Mouth agape, she was on the floor as well, on her knees reaching out -- as those blonde locks sprawled across the ground, rolling, rolling... as the glassy, lifeless eyes stared back up at her.

A scream sounded all around them, as the pool of blood spurting from Zelda's headless neck covered everything...
