[Open] For mingling with the Major
There had been so much clouding his judgment back then, before his stasis. There was still a great deal of that which still pressed against his thoughts from time to time but his resolve still held from when he had made the decision to refuse to worry himself to the extent that he had before. There wasn't anything to be done about the would-be facts.
Now he had more than enough to occupy himself with and he meant to do well with it. Sephiroth was very obviously 'on-the-job' as he turned to Lydia as she approached him. There was a fleeting moment where he'd expected a 'Major' instead of his name to be spoken, considering how totally he immersed himself in his job role, but at the same time he smiled just at the fact she did use his name - it reminded him of how no one had addressed him by any rank, back home.
"Hm. Hello Lydia." He even remembered to drop the 'Ms. Deetz'; point for his memory.
Re: [Open] For mingling with the Major
"I was asked to make sure this was put in any plans. Ms. Armstrong and Lady Ashelia and some others are planning to hijack an airship. So if one turns on its friends in the battle on the Empire's side, don't be surprised." It amused her, and Lydia was both glad and jealous she wasn't part of this beyond being a messenger.
[Open] For mingling with the Major
The Major didn't startle visibly so much, though Sephiroth's long-lashed eyelids rose a fraction making his eyes seem a little wider, in response. The gesture showed off the remnants of the mako gleam that they would still hold for a few months yet since his return from stasis. Unless used to them, they might be a little startling given as his pupils slitted like a cats.
"Olivier and Ashelia are..." A slow blink, followed a series of three as Sephiroth tried to wrap his head around what Lydia had said. Naturally he had no idea that either had left the City, having been back in Esdham since the start of the month working.
"..." Finally, Sephiroth relaxed his expression again with a slow shake of his head.
"Well, I suppose that's good to know."
If they hadn't already gone and gotten themselves killed, or worse.
Re: [Open] For mingling with the Major
"They're not alone, and they were pretty confident about it. I think they just stayed behind after some others of their group were going to try and steal a sub too." Lydia shrugged, smile slightly shy.
"I haven't heard any more. That was all I was given." But it was important, and she'd done what her teacher asked. "I've been packing though. I'm going to be with one of the last evacuation groups. I've been helping get others ready and out as well."
[Open] For mingling with the Major
He was all the responsible General in charge once more, as he continued to look over Lydia as she continued. Careful, almost cold in manner, as behind his facade thoughts raced to put possible outcomes and variables together.
"Thank you, for coming forward with that information." And truly it was appreciated. Should the others have managed to sabotage an airship it would give them something that the Empire could not expect. He followed with a short nod.
"For every innocent life, whether they be of our number or not, that manages to get through this, their lives will be indebted as much to those that stay and fight as much as they will be to those that help them to escape."
Re: [Open] For mingling with the Major
She shook her head, smile going slightly shy again. "I'm not looking for thanks. I just thought you'd like to know. Everyone is encouraging me to leave, and I am listening. I wish you all luck."
[Open] For mingling with the Major
Though really his head was momentarily occupied thinking through what a commandeered airship might do for the military effort. Identifying that particular airship and keeping track of it might easily become a problem and having a rogue element on a battlefield was forever the tacticians worst nightmare.
"It's probably for the best. I had hoped that more would listen to those reasons."
Re: [Open] For mingling with the Major
A brighter grin, a bit impish. "I still have to tell you about my adventure in Stiltzkin's castle, after all." Ok and maybe a bit of pride there too, before she went back to serious. "I know you'll do your best. I hope others will be safe and not make it too difficult for you."
[Open] For mingling with the Major
Sephiroth knew well that he had a responsibility now, to make sure as far as he could that would not be the outcome.
"You'll have to put all about it in a letter to me, once all this is over." His smile widened for a moment then, refusing to answer how others might make it difficult for him. He'd only really just began to form a list of obstacles he'd have to get around, in his mind for pondering later on. Obstinate Heroes and stubborn citizens were really only the start of his problems.
Re: [Open] For mingling with the Major
"I'll do that. Be prepared for a book. And sketches." A promise, because it was her way of reassuring herself that they'd all get through this. Taking a step back, she waved, and turned to go. "Be safe, and I'll be cheering you guys on as much as I can!"
