Zelda’s voice was curious but gentle. She knew that some heroes had something like the Ultima Weapon in their own worlds but she didn’t know anything about it. As it was, she didn’t know anything the weapon in Crystallis except that it was a weapon that was somehow alive. The concept of such a thing was familiar to the young goddess. Just because it was a weapon didn’t mean that it doesn’t have a soul.
“You have experience with it?”

K'pandolu nodded, fingers curling at her side. "…I only ever fought that Weapon, though," she said quietly. "It was… a construct of the Allagan Empire, of the Third Astral Era, built as a countermeasure against the greatest opponents the Empire's foes could muster- the primals. You would have to ask another for the details of its build, I fear, but- it is the core of the Weapon that concerns me. He… Lahabrea said it had remained a mystery even to the Allagan scholars…" Had perhaps, in all likelihood, been kept a mystery, but she kept that thought silent. "Empowered by the power of the primals, that allowed the Weapon to cast the ultimate magic- and it devastated the area around us. If control of this Weapon was seized by someone else… I fear the worst."

“What are the primals? Are they like the ancients here?” She was only left wandering what it was the ancients had entailed for the ultima weapon. It was created by them to fight the calamity which was why the hero’s crystals were able to call it. It has a devastating power as well which means that her worry was perfectly grounded.
Zelda looked over to the group planning that particular part of the strategy. “I don’t know its construction or how it will work once it’s hacked but I believe a hero of light plans to control the weapon.” Though that doesn’t mean it’s safe.

K'pandolu followed the other's gaze, frowning. It was no comfort to her, either. "… Ultima was cast from under the control of its then pilot," she said. "I know that we will all do our best, and yet…" She sighed, closing her eyes for a moment. "If we survive, we should have the chance to examine it closely, at least." It seemed like an avenue- or something to investigate, at the very least.

Which only made her wonder how the Empire managed to keep it contained.
Zelda sighed softly. “I don’t know. From what you are saying the Primals sound more like the summons here.” Except that summons were bound and there power limited somehow. Zelda can’t say she knew how it worked. It was far out of her range of knowledge.
“I wish I could comfort your fears but I can’t.”

"Summons…" She'd heard that before, and she frowned, thinking. "What manner of beings are they?"
Her expression dropped, and she looked away for a moment, trying to collect herself. It was- not entirely a surprise, if she thought about it. Such issues couldn't simply be set aside with a few words. "Then," she said, drawing herself together, gaze up to meet Zelda's, "have you any thoughts on what contingencies we could put in place?"

“I haven’t thought about it.” Her voice was soft, almost regretful. She wasn’t doing a good job of working to keep people safe or at least that’s how she felt but she silently steeled herself looking back up with her usual confident gaze. “I can try and think of something. Maybe the pilot and the hackers will be able to think of something. I don’t know much about how the weapon works or what might be effective.” It was a logical answer but Zelda didn’t like it.

She smiled and deep down she wished that they could do more but she knew the truth of their situation and her experience with wars were all through memories that were given to her by the goddess. They weren’t her own. Even so she’d have confidence and she’d have hope.
She would do everything that she can.

"Let us both do the best we can, then," she said, hand over her heart. "Until next time."
