"No you idiot. For the heroes. They're all enhanced with a lightening element. They're going to be pretty fucking effective when the Empire tries to bring their machines in here." he has to explain in detail.

"That said, I've seen war. It's pretty inevitable that the fighting will end up in the city, so we're setting up near the gates so we can either stop them at the gates, or keep them on the outside."

"Lightning weapons?" Now that was actually intriguing. Albel didn't bother to ask permission before he withdrew one of the swords, looking it over and testing its weight. Not bad, not bad at all. He wasn't unfamiliar with enchanted weapons and armor.

This could be a good little boost in their favor.

"Hmph. As long as you aren't sending the untrained to their deaths." He replaced the blade. "These could work nicely."

"I'm not sending anyone anywhere. But if they're going to fight on their own power, at least I can put something in someone's hands that gives them a chance." he explains.

"Not everyone left... they're stubborn, or t want t ostay and protect their home. It's not my business to tell them no. It's my business to give them the tools to do what they choose to do. Dig?"

Albel snorted. "If they wanted to protect their home, they should have enlisted. At this point, it's selfishly protecting their house and getting in our way."

It might be harsh, but Albel didn't have room for compassion at this point. Anyone who really wanted to defend anything should have made the commitment earlier. He briefly looked at the other bundles in the wagon.

"If anyone has any training, let him fight. But a fool who can't handle a blade is just going to get himself hurt." He shook his head. "If they insist on doing something, they should act as a distraction to give the real fighters an opening -- or move the children of stubborn, fool parents who kept them here."

It was upsettingly true. Undeniably true.

"Well like I said, it's not my place to tell anyone what to do. If they wanna fight, I can put a tool in their hand, but... until I have my tools, I can't be the big damn hero around here."

"Your tools?" Albel's eyebrows rose, not understanding. "You made these well enough, what else does a blacksmith need? Besides those crystals you took?"

Though, he would have considered those components, not so much tools.
