[Saori once again took to the rooftops to get around. That is until she sees someone all too familiar. And what does she do to greet her former co-worker? Land several feet in front of him.]

Long time no see, Sparks. Sorry, I would've come back to the police force if I had known I was let go the moment I went into crystal stasis.

[That sure gets Sparks to stop and blink for a moment, before he clears his throat and adjusts his hat. The driving rain is keeping it tough to hear people coming, especially when they're jumping down from rooftoops.]

Well, now. Back just in time for the fun stuff. Hope yer well rested.

You can count on me, Sparks. I can stay up top and make sure no one gets the drop on you guys. Besides, it'd be a good time to get back into gear with my job skills.

If we both make it out alive from this, I'm turning my application papers in ASAP and giving you free lunch for a week.

Sounds good. But don't get yerself spotted, either. Dunno how much of the situation yer up on, but they've got airships comin' in. Lots of 'em. And I'm pretty sure there's some spies in town already.

Don't worry, I got my best jobs on me right now. [Hitting the enemy won't be a problem as a master monk, but getting hit was a different story.]


They're really not holding back on us this time, that's for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if they choose a war of attrition mindset this time. And if that's the case, pace yourself, Sparks. We might be in it for the long run.

Reckon you could be right. They know we don't have the numbers they do, so all they gotta do is keep up a steady pace themselves. Meanin' we need to bring them to us for the fight. Lead 'em to where we want 'em to be and make 'em fight on our own terms.
