For his crew, it was the appearance, for MarKus, it was his approach. That kinda stuff is best for assassinations and pranks, and Vincent didn't seem like he cared for the latter at all.

Maybe one day he could produce elemental bullets, but didn't a job class do that for him. He had Gunner but... he didn't ask for it, or want it. It kinda just happened.

"More to give us an advantage against the enemy. The Empire has a lot of machines they like to use so, lightning-element weapons are going to help a lot. Particularly for those who don't know machines like I do. I assume you do to since, Yuffie likes to say there's giant robots back in your world?"

Sadly Vincent is not carrying the requisite jobs or experience at this point to fire elemental bullets. It was worth asking about in any case. Listening carefully, Vincent nodded and looked over the cart.

It was not usually his style, but perhaps a back-up weapon with the lightening element would be useful.

"Somewhat. Our world is much more advanced technologically than here. I am familiar with training-robots and AIs to assess one's skills, among others." A pause, his head tilted. "If she means the WEAPONs, I am not sure I would classify those directly as 'giant robots' alone."

"I used to work on huge machines that people would control from the inside. Like... a massive suit of armor bigger than these buildings that fired bullets and lasers bigger than YOU are. I used to build and fix them. I kind of miss it but I suppose that's why I ended up a blacksmith."

The closest thing he could see to having a mech he could pilot was a Magitek Knight but...

"At least she tells me the level of tech is close enough I can build one if I really wanted to."

Interesting. Powered armor suits that might fit around a human Vincent could easily conceive of. The idea that they might be as large or larger than the buildings would take more thought. Not the least of which was how complex they would have to be, to be at all controlled well.

It was one thing to pilot an airplane or a submarine. Quite another few levels in complexity, in his mind, to try to pilot something that large, complex, and vaguely humanoid.

"It is probably why you are a skilled blacksmith, if you are used to much more complex mechanisms than are found here." It was easier to figure out simple mechanics, once one was familiar with more difficult and complex ones. Given the ease MarKus had made Vincent a firearm, he could believe it of the other.

"Yeah, but this place has it's limits. OR rather... some of our 'overseers' are being totally selfish on the level of technology here. I'd like to build my own machine, like I had back home but... fuckall if they won't explain the whole power source thing." he gripes.

And then he finally comes out with it. "If they weren't being stupid and obviously selfish and evil, I'd probably go to the empire and see if they'll share the information. I'm not going to deny it's crossed my mind, just for the sake of information, but... they're fuckin evil. Well, not evil but they're... UGH, don't get me started on morality shit..." he gripes, even if Vincent didn't GET him started.

"Point is, they're the perspective bad guys, and that's not where I belong. I just want a robot damnit."

Vincent was used to tirades like this from his time adventuring with Avalanche. Generally it required very little on his part for a response, and was usually enlightening. If slightly exasperating or annoying when done too often.

Then again, he could see that this was a trait MarKus and Yuffie shared. Along with a penchant for doing their own thing regardless of others. Not out of any sense of malice, simply because of head-strong youth. No wonder they were dating; privately Vincent wished them luck.

"Perhaps during the attacks you'll be able to claim some salvage and look at their power-sources." He himself was looking over the stockpile, and hefted up a long knife. It had been years since he had fought close-up, but having a back-up would not go amiss. "May I?" Asking permission, ready to pay if he must or be told no.

Both of Vincents comments are met with a shrug.

"Sure, go ahead." He wasn't the first to ask from equipment from the emergency lightening barrel. The weapons weren't of the best quality. You know, the stuff MarKus would proudly boast about.

Those weren't they.

"So... what really brought you around? I saw Yuffie earlier and she's not with you now."

Vincent took the dagger, securing it by the holster for his fire-arm. It didn't need to be supreme quality, since it was a back-up. His eyebrow raised at the question. "She tends to act on her own. I've been learning and practicing the quick routes around the city."

Ahh, so it was by chance.

"I see. Well we're going all over town. Not any backroads though. We know where we're headed, and we're going right there." He pantomimes his hand going right down the path.

Vincent nodded his head, following where MarKus pointed and cataloging it to check around later. "I will keep my eyes open." Bringing up his left hand, Vincent gave a little wave and turned to head off back to his routes.

He would keep an eye out for MarKus's stashes, and point anyone towards them if needed, while he was running around and patrolling.
