Summary: The battle for Aqures Ixen is about to begin! The Heroes of Light are going to do their best to defend Aqures Ixen, but will this be enough? Feel free to participate and reply to appropriate threads. New top-level threads will be posted regularly as the battle progresses.

[It had taken Vincent a bit to catch-up, as moogles were fast and agile. Part of why they made such good messengers. Catching up, he noticed his companion flutter after another of the machines. Stopping on a nearby-roof-corner, Vincent took careful aim and fired. The crack of gunfire adding to the chaos around them, as he moved to further cripple, if not finish off, the moogle killer that Kopula had already damaged.]

[Kopula turns towards Vincent, flashing the hero a sheepish grin. He probably shouldn’t have just flew off like that but he wants to protect the offices and those he knows who work there. With his blade in hand he turns towards another, just in time to see it lash out at his fuzzy torso.

Kopula is forced to the ground this new moogle killer moving in on the prone moogle. He grabs his blade and tosses it upwards but the pointed end only managed to lodge in the machines side.]

Kupo!

[It's alright; Vincent understands the desire of the other moogle to help. He's seen it many times among his comrades in Avalanche. Focusing, moving closer to be certain of his shot.]

Kopula! LEFT side, now!

[The little moogle is hopefully taking his hint, and dodging as the moogle killer moves in closer. Since Vincent fires, and the loud crack of the shot echoes. A charge-shot, to double the power of it, and hopefully allow his companion to regain some footing.

The gunslinger himself is moving to dive and roll in a dodge. Another moogle killer is taking aim at him. He's a larger and more obvious target, and it's a close escape. ]

[Kopula instantly does what Vincent commands, moving to the left as the killer flies passed him and into the sights of the gunman. He hasn’t been working with Vincent for more than a few days but it’s enough time to gain a level of trust in combat.

His sword flashes in the dim light as the rain bounces off its smooth blade. The steady falling of water doesn’t hinder the moogle much except it makes the grip on his sword a little less firm.

Kopula strikes at the moogle killer near Vincent using their tag team skills to take down another enemy. There are so many of them and Kopula can only hope that those inside are safe.]

[Vincent appreciates the trust; he has and will do his best to see that it is well earned. The rain doesn't hinder Vincent's sight at all, though it makes his movement more difficult. Especially as these are designed to combat moogles, who are already slightly quicker and more agile than a human.

He is praising the fact that he switched jobs recently, and trained, or he would be getting more than just light-bruises and scratches, and the occasional glancing blow from a bullet. Others are joining in, even as he's keeping his focus on Kopula. Careful in his aiming, conserving his ammo for shots he is certain he can make connect.

It is far from an easy battle.]

[Kopula dashes out of a moogle killers path and down towards the ground. He hears Vincent's shots and smiles as he watches the killer wobble and then drop from the air. After taking away their speed these killers are easier to defeat though that was mostly for heroes such as Vincent.

The moogles had speed but they weren't a powerful race. Kopula had trained with Zelda to be able to use his speed, size and sword to the best of his abilities and that training was becoming useful today.

He smiles up at the rain, feeling his joints ache as he flutters up into the air.]

They keep coming, kupo.

[How many do they have? He dodges from another and then brings his sword down just before it's able to catch him. His blade bites against the metal and he holds on as if his life depends on it.]

[Vincent stayed focused, eyes darting around the battlefield with practiced efficiency. Noticing other heroes who'd come to help, along with other moogles. Little surprise to him, given how he'd heard Ophelia talk sometimes.

Hopefully she was staying as safe as she could be.]

Unfortunately they won't be driven back like human foes would be.

[Twisting to his left, dodging and then diving slightly down into an alley to avoid several shots. Only moving out from cover to repeat carefully aimed shots, as Kopula is occupied with the moogle killer he speared. Vincent is drawing fire from the others for now, as he ducks back into cover.]

[Kopula seems to be holding on for the ride. A few of the moogle killers aim at him but they only succeed in shooting down the machine that he rode. He flutters into the air with that one down and then strikes at another before moving next to Vincent’s hiding spot to rest. He’s been at this for a while now and he doesn’t have a job like those around him.

His little chest heaves slightly as he looks up at the tall man.]

How many are there? Can we possibly hold them off kupo?

[There are a lot of people fighting but most are moogles which gives them a slight disadvantage.]
