If we got room for 'em. Too many of them stayed behind. Why the heck they didn't listen, I don't know. We can try movin' as many as we can, but as we're expectin' soldiers to be air-dropped in, reckon no place is all that safe.

[Sparks ran a hand down his face, sighing shortly. This was like having a flashback to his USSA Academy exam, with its no-win situation. Not that he got a chance to finish it. Not that he needed to in order to know he was going to win it. And he would win this, too.]

Rekon I don't like the idea of them bein' all grouped up in one place, in case that gets attacked. But... if we can convince 'em to move outta their homes, that'll be the first obstacle anyway.

"No place is safe," Albel agreed. "But some districts are going to be a higher priority than others."

It might be harsh, but it was the truth. They didn't have the manpower to save everything. They had to concentrate their forces to protect what was deemed more important. Anything other than that...

"If their things are so important to them, let them take the barest necessities. But they'll be easier to protect if we know where they all are. Other than that, they can sleep in a tent off the street for all I care. But I'm not going to be responsible for people dying for their own stupidity, staying somewhere essentially inaccessible."
