Even though the tough times it's best to try and have the good.

Who: Fai D. Flourite and AU!Yuna
What: During the downtimes of building Fai drags Yuna away for a romantic date... or as romantic as one can be currently.
Where: At a random spot in the city and another secret spot.
When: August 26th
Warnings: Cuteness

[Today had been another busy day and Fai had been doing the best he could to help, but even with him they didn't manage as much. After all they had to work from the ground up, which he knew would take a while. But with the work done for the day and the sun slowly starting to set, Fai decided to go pay a visit to a certain someone and see if she had the time. he had things prepared, all he needed now was her.

Making his way over he could see her, working hard as per usual. A smile was firm on his face as he slowly started to make his way behind her, hoping to catch her by surprise and when he was close enough he wrapped his arms around her so that his hands were in front of her face.]

[He paused for a moment before looking over. Currently Yuki had been doing something in front, sweeping the floor with his tiny little broom. After all there wasn't much he needed to do in the kitchen since most of it was ready by now.]

Yeah, well a couple anyway. But then again the time they got was the time I did as well... That was rather fun.

[Not so much for Kurogane, sadly but he felt like he had fun. Yuki soon poked his head up from behind the counter, hearing the spoons as he soon started to put the broom down before making his way to take the bowls.]

Ah, I think I understand. You have told me a bit about your world after all. Though I assume you've learnt that isn't always the case. Although it is usually one of the main reasons.

[Yuna sits back, giving Yuki plenty of room to clear the bowls.]

I knew a lot of people who drank for that reason. I had always sought to give them hope so I didn't touch alcohol. After Sin was defeated there was no reason not to but it just didn't come up.

[She paused for a moment before continuing.]

When I ended in the city, that world. It was like a nightmare. Whenever people were able to get alcohol they did and that's where I was introduced to it. I think... it was a bonfire. The first time.

[Yuna smiles at the memory. As horrible as the city was there were happy times too. It was very much like living on Spira before Sin had been defeated. There could be happy times but there was always a threat lingering over head.]

[He picks up the wine glass, twirling the liquid in his hand quietly. He was listening, but it gave his hands something to do even for a brief moment.]

So... Was the world you were at before better or worse than your own world?

[From what he can gather they seemed similar or the same, but he knew he couldn't be certain anyway.]

They were similar in a lot of ways but Spiria is changing for the better. The world I was in before this one… I never knew its name. It was a city but no one lived there except for those who were trapped there. It was a place of nightmares but even so we always found something to smile about.

[Even if it was just each other’s company.]

You’ve been to many worlds right? How would you compare them with your home?

[That certainly sounded like an interesting place to say the least. Not pleasant of course, but interesting. Different. At the question though his hand started to twirl the wine as he looked at the contents.]

I have. I lost track on the sheer number, but there was always something different compared to what home was like. [Or whichever place he considered home now, he didn't have one. He didn't think he told her that really. When he finally settled the glass down after taking a sip Yuki came out carrying two plates.]

Here we go. I don't know the posh name for this, but it's chicken with two kinds of potatoes, carrots covered in a nice chicken gravy, kupo!"

It made Fai smile slightly, well it didn't have a posh name as far as he was aware as well, but it was something. "Thank you, Yuki-chan." he spoke as Yuki was already off to deal with the counter and get some cleaning up done.

[Yuna takes a sip of wine, smiling as Yuki brought their food. It is lovely, perfect even. Something about the dish reminded her of home though they often ate fish living on an island.]

Thank you Yuki. It's perfect.

[Her expression softens as she picks up her fork and flakes off a piece of chicken. It looks as if it's cooked perfectly and the wine is perfectly selected to compliment the dish. She carefully took a bite.]

It's good. [Just so Yuki knew her praise wasn't only from sight. It is then that Yuna looks back at Fai, her smile wide and a little flustered.]

I wish I could see it too. I know you mentioned your journey to me and your friends. It's something I can understand, at least a little. [Her journey was a little different.]

[Fai stuck his fork into a bit of potato, both normal and what he could gather was sweet potato as he took a bite, letting the flavour stay on his tongue before swallowing. It was pretty good considering Yuki just picked put random things.]

Maybe someday you can, although not quite sure how considering.

[Since he isn't sure other people besides those who paid the price could use Mokona. He wondered how something like that could work. As he finally tried the piece of the chicken his smile falters only a little bit as he went deeper and deeper into thought.]

Until then we have to deal with the problems here. Which I don't mind since helping is considered normal at this point.

Yeah.

[Yuna looks down at her plate with a warm smile.] I'm hoping I can help more. Maybe with research on the crystal? I know many are looking into Jessie's... Palitutu's work.

[She isn't sure what she can do to help but she's going to keep trying.]

I do wonder, when I leave here... would I end up somewhere else? I mean, it's happened to me once before. [She takes a bite of potato and then another sip of wine. She doesn't mean to keep thinking and this hardly seems a good topic for a date but she can't stop wondering. There is so little they know.]

Researching is always an interesting thing to do.

[Something that he might be interested in doing himself really. If it gets answers that was always something he wanted. This was a thought that passed through his head as he had taken another bite of the meal.]

If you mean in another world, who knows. I know I would for reasons. I choose to willing travel, however you could end up back to your original home without having to make a wish for it.

[Yuna isn't sure she wants to think of the future. Even at the end of her journey it was something that made her nervous. There really is no way to know what will happen next and all she can do is stand against the changing currents.

She takes another bite of her food washing it down with a sip of wine. A soft smile pulls at her lips as she looks over at Fai.]

Would you take an interest in research then?

[She knows that Fai mostly stays in his shop though his recent efforts have been admirable.]

[He was always the kind that liked having information and not being left in the dark. Best to be trying to understand the situation than not at all and having to worry the whole time.]

I would be interested, when I travel I prefer to know what is going on than not at all after all.

[He had taken another bite of the chicken with a smile.]

Though I guess there will be a lot of people who would want to get involved anyway, so who knows.

[Yuna smiles, taking another bite before speaking again.]

If not, I’ll be happy to tell you what I’ve learned.

[She still plans to come by his shop often.

With a smile she places her fork down, her food mostly finished. She can’t eat anymore though the meal was lovely. Yuna takes a sip of wine glancing around for Yuki. It’s strange eating like that. Yuna knows that things have changed some but it feels like how it was before. Friends talking about whatever might come to mind; it’s comfortable though unlike usual there is less alcohol involved.]

We'll just see, after all I can seem to read faster than the average person thanks to my Scholar Job. So that could come in handy.

[Although he hasn't quite fully mastered it quite yet, that would still take a little longer. Placing his fork down finally, he had finished. All that was left was Yuki to come out and take the plates. He knew Yuki had something else figured out but he wondered if that could be saved for later.]

Yuki-chan~

[As if he knew that was coming, Yuki was already nervously coming out, slowly going to the table and picking up the plates.]

Would that be all, kupo?

[Yuna looks over as Yuki comes out and smiles. She doesn’t know when it happened but she feels fondly towards the shy little moogle. She always sees him trying his best even when he’s a little nervous.]

Yes, it was wonderful. [Her smile grows with each word.] Thank you Yuki!

[There are times she addresses Yuki as Yuki-chan as well but it’s only when the little moogle is doing something particularly cute. Yuna can’t help herself; Celes is never like that though he is a lot more rash and loud than Yuki. It’s probably a good thing that her moogle wasn’t here.]

[He soon took the plates away, staying in the back as Fai had figured to finally stand up moving over to Yuna before holding out his hand.]

I think we'll save desert till later, don't you think?

[His hand was still extended for the other to take.]

Now what we do next is all up to you. It can be something romantic, or something normal. It's all up to you.

Yeah.

[She is too full to eat anything else anyway.

Yuna takes Fai's hand letting the warmth seep into her fingers as she rose from her seat. She doesn't need help getting up but she enjoys holding onto Fai's hand.

His next statement tints her cheeks a light red.]

Something romantic or something normal? What would we do that's romantic? [She feels like there is a very fine line, unless he's talking about something else.]

You know, I don't actually have a clue.

[If mostly because he's never been in anything quite like this before. Romance and those types of feelings were something he never felt and never really had to. Pretending was one thing being genuine is another.]

I think that's why I was letting you decide since I figured you would know more than I would right now.

[Yuna wishes that she could stop blushing but her mind is racing with thoughts that don’t feel like her own. She shakes her head and then pulls a smile over her lips. It’s obvious that she’s a little nervous but she’s happy.]

It might sound boring but let’s go for a walk. I think it’s romantic and he can head outside the city.

[It’s dark out but they’d be able to handle themselves and they can head towards the coast. The night is still warm thanks to the hot summer sun and by now stares would have begun to shine.]

[As he watched her, Fai was wondering just what was going on in the young girls head to make her blush to much. He knew it couldn't be anything he said since he hasn't teased her this whole time. Then what exactly could it be? maybe he'll ask later. But for now he simply nods as he starts to show her towards the door, letting Yuki clean up the table and blow out the candle for the mean time.]

A walk isn't boring. Especially at night.

[She will agree that walking isn’t boring and she’s a little happy to hear him say so as well. She steps through the door, letting the cooler night air calm her nerves. It’s nice and she can’t feel nervous when she’s able to breath in the fresh air that brushes past them.]

I think so to.

[She keeps her hand in his, walking towards the city limits. A broken down city isn’t very romantic but walking through the plans outside would be or at least Yuna thought so. She’s never really tried so hard to think about something like that. More often than not things happened and they were rarely planned.]

[There was nothing he wanted to say right now as his hands couldn't help but grip the others as they walked through the cold but yet rather refreshing air. It was a nice breeze and after a hard day of work it felt really good. When they reached the limits his mind wondered how far it could be before there would be monsters. He hoped they wouldn't wonder that far.

Still keeping a tight grip on her hand, but not too tight he continued to walk.]

You know, one never really appreciates what beauty there is until you find yourself in a situation like this.

[Yuna can't banish the smile that's taken over her lips. Just being able to walk with Fai like this made her heart skip in her chest.]

Really? I've always found myself stopping and staring at places as I journeyed on my way to Zanarkand but then.. [She pauses, her gaze looking up towards the bright dots that litter the sky.] I always thought it'd be my last time looking at it. It's a habit I haven't really broken.

[Yuna steers them slightly,, snaking their path around the city and towards the chococo farm. She remembers a cliff on the far side of the farm where the water would crash against the rocks and the moon would hang overhead. It'd be safe enough to travel to at night, as long as they were careful.]

You'd be surprised.

[Then there are those that cause situations like Acid Tokyo and ruin everything. Now that he thought back to that, he was hoping that those people really did do what they had to make it better. Then again since it was Clow in the past, he already knew the answer.]

I think I know where you are going. [Helps that he world near the farm when he first arrived here really as he gives a sly smile before going right back on topic again.] But at least your habit isn't a bad one. I think that's cute. Then again what isn't cute?

[Yuna's gaze lingers on the stars before turning back towards Fai. He is one of few who could probably surprise her with the things he's seen though she isn't going to pry.]

Do you? [She isn't surprised if he caught on to her plan.

As he continues her cheeks flush a bright rosy pink.] Um.. what isn't cute? You mean about me?

[He nodded slightly, glancing up at the stars as they walked. It seemed peaceful and nice. Something they all needed right about now. He did have some idea about her plan and he didn't mind either, it was a nice place after all.]

Yes. There are plenty of cute things about you, I can't think of something that isn't. Not a bad thing either if I am honest.
