[Minako send Artemis out to gather those who said they would help as she started to look at her list. She still had a few things she needed to do before the party could begin, but first all she could do was wait for others.

When the party was starting Minako was going to go about and do her own thing until the time was right.]

So you've been around here for a year... I would have been here a year next month.

[She can't remember how she knows when exactly, she just did. Not that she minded as she felt her world was still safe for the time being.]

But I think we've all earned a day off. Just relaxing and recharging is the best thing.

Yep. Surrrre is.

[He takes a sip of his drink, and looks like he's trying to think of something to say.

It's pretty obvious that Sparks has absolutely no idea how to relax. Or what to do with himself when not on duty.]

Uh. So. How's... the... weather?

[dragonflame]

Considering we both are here right now, we both know what the weather is like.

[She could tell quickly he wasn't sure how to relax, she guessed she could try and help at least.]

How about we discus something else that we might not know like... Home life, perhaps?

...Right. Um. Do you mean, like home life here, or back where we're from? Cuz here it ain't much to speak of.

[Because he spends most of it at work, you see. Not that it was much different back home. Which dawns on him.]

'Kay, well, it wasn't much different back on Mars, neither. Marshalin' is a full-time duty, pretty much.

Either really, that's always a good start to figure out a person, don't you think?

[She paused if only briefly.]

Ah... How is it a full time job though?

I'm pretty much the only law enforcement is how. Actually, right before I got here, I had just hired my first-ever deputy. Who uh, is probably holdin' down the fort now. 'Less they sent in a new marshal since I been gone.

[There's a sad thought. Especially since Red and Jim where both here crystallized, and Croach was an unfortunate victim of Kalki. Who would it even be? Spark's shoulders slump, and he's quiet for a moment before he realizes this is pretty depressing for a party conversation with a lady. He straightens back up and clears his throat.]

But, y'know, there's always somethin' happening, even on a backwater planet like Mars. Crime never sleeps. Somethin' like that.

What about you? What did ya do back home?

Wow, that must have meant you did a lot of work if you were the only one in a huge place. That's impressive.

[She thought about it, but wondered if they should try and move onto something else, but she couldn't think of anything off the top of her head.]

As for me, I was a student still learning about being a fairy since every year there is some new form I needed to master while trying my best to deal with a situation we always found ourselves in.

[Darn right it was impressive. He's pretty proud of himself.]

Well, what can I say. They hired the right guy for the job.

[Part of what Bloom says catches Sparks by surprise though.]

Wait, what? Did you say "fairy"?

[It was impressive, but made Bloom a little sad at the same time. It meant one never had a break and didn't seem to have anyone to ask for help when one needed it. This was why she was always happy to have her friends. Even if sometimes she would leave them for one reason or another.]

Though at least here you have others working in the same profession, so you have help, which is a good thing.

[She nodded slightly, with a small smile.]

I did, that is because I am one. Though here I am not because they somehow took powers that one could never take.

What, really? I know they kinda, like, overridden people's skills 'n stuff with the Jobs. I didn't know they could just take away the stuff that makes you you. [That's creepy.]

All they did to me at first was make me a bad shot. But I got that back by takin' the right Jobs.

Yeah, for those who had abilities they get them taken away as well. But I've adapted to using jobs that are close enough to what I am use to. It's why I have Black Mage equipped a lot of the time.

[She nodded slightly, there were some things that she wasn't a s good at anymore, but nothing outstanding as her powers either way.]

So people can find a way around it. Just have to be clever about it.

That's why I got Gunner on currently. Makes me feel like me again, I guess. Even if this backwater planet still uses guns with bullets.

[So antiquated. But he can't expect a planet with no electricity to have laser pistols.]

What did your worlds guns use if not bullets then?

[Since as far as she was aware it was bullets on her home.]

Lasers, of course.

[There's a beat as something dawns on him, and he looks at Bloom like he's trying to figure it out.]

So. What year're ya from? If we're, like, from a place that even has the same years.

What year? Well it's was 2015 where I was from at least.

[She already figured they might not be from the same year at least since things were so different.]

Whoa. Yeah. So I'm, like, from 3014. Reckon it still might be different worlds, since I ain't ever read anything about fairies in history class, but -- [a shrug] -- it's a big universe out there. Who knows.

[dragonflame]

Wow, that's many years into the future. That's still amazing for me even if I know of other worlds out there. But as for fairies, they weren't very well know in some places and for reasons in my time anyway.
