Event || Window of Opportunity

Characters: All Heroes of Light.
Where: Aqures Ixen - Everywhere
When: September 25th - From 12:30 to 22:30.
Summary: Heroes of Light will relive the same ten hours over and over again until they find a solution. This may be a blow to what's left of their sanity, but that's also a window of opportunity! The OOC Post is here for more information! It's not too late to sign-up, anyone can still jump right into the event! However, your vote for the total number of loops will not be taken into account any more.

Speaking of which-- Votes are in and this time displacement madness will be solved after 191 loops. Practically speaking, this means characters going through every single loop will live 2 months, 2 weeks, 3 days and 14 hours in the span of half a day. Hopefully they won't mind the food for the day, the clothes they're wearing or what they were doing when the loop started, because that's what they'll be stuck with until the end. There are some events described below, but there will be no NPC replies. Feel free to partake in these events and of course, make your own!

The Flence Salesman
— All Day Long —
There is a salesman from Flence in the city, and he is going for every person he sees in the streets. Adults, children or elders, humans or tarutarus, it doesn't matter to him so long as he can make money! He will try to sell to the characters specialties from Flence and some crystals at absolutely awful prices, but he's open to negotiations and beyond that, he's extremely persistent. Normally, nobody would care about this, but given the salesman isn't be aware of the loop, he'll keep doing the same things over and over again... Hopefully he won't see your characters, otherwise he might just bother them for every single loop.

Moogle Demonstration for the Future of Mognet
— 12:30 => 16:00 —
For a surprise one-day long strike, the Moogles are demonstrating! There are roughly 800 Moogles together (250 according to the government, 5000 according to the striking Moogles) in the demonstration, all singing slogans and some even holding placards with "More Gil and Less Work" or "Give us Kupo Nuts" signs.

They started at 10:00 and left from the 09th District, but they will go throughout every district and explain what their protest is about. They'll finish at 16:00 and will be back to the 09th District to eat Kupo Nuts and drink Chocobo Milk together.

Biggs' Grand Return
— 14:00 => 22:30 —
After a month spent in the hospital, Biggs is finally back! He leave the Hospital at 14:00 and head straight for the Castle of Aqures Ixen. Noticeably he still has a broken and bandaged arm, but he'll pretend to be totally fine and for that matter, he will be as rude and as unfriendly as ever. He will spend most of the day in the Castle, but will go in Palitutu's Lab by 19:00 to meet with Cid. Among other things, he will side-eye everyone and will accidentally splash Cid's coffee on a Hero of Light working there (or on a Moogle, should the Hero have the good sense to avoid Biggs next loop).

Renovation of the Blitzball Stadium
— 15:30 => 20:00 —
The repairs are going steadily and today, a special dome from Trano Golsaucia is being transported and placed on the Blitzball Stadium, brand new and much more modern than what Aqures Ixen used to have! On the downside however, the airship bringing the dome and the work being done on the stadium are all very, very noisy. So noisy that everyone in a two-district radius will be bothered by it.

Under normal circumstances it would have been only for a short time and easilly bearable, but here it will happen for every single loop.

Have You Heard of the Heroes of Light?
— All Day Long —
Throughout the day, a few people are going to go and knock on every doors in the city, to talk about a most fascinating topic: the Heroes of Light! They will speak about how it is said the Heroes of Light are in Crystallis and how they managed to defeat the empire without difficulties back during the attack! Then they will go on and ask for a contribution (hear: money) to help the Heroes of Light in their cause. Of course, these people are dishonest and the money will go into their own pockets, as they don't believe in the Heroes of Light to begin with.

And of course, they'll go knock on doors during every single loop!

The Accident
— 22:29 => 22:30 —
The one minute that started it all. Who is the imbecile who committed the mistake on Palitutu's computer? Is this a Moogle or a Hero of Light, maybe Cid or Biggs? Whoever it is, after the first time, at 22:29 the program will start again on its own and will activate the loop right at 22:30, sending everything back to 12:30. The characters may try to run more programs to block the computer, cut the energy source or even bomb the building if they so wish...

But these archaic and barbaric solutions won't prevent the next loop from happening. Only hard work and scientific solutions shall prevail!

A: Moogle Demonstrations

Each loop starts with Kaji here, with the Moogles. He has taken a very specific interest in their plight, and is mingling with as many Moogles as he can talk to. He is also taking a great deal of notes, getting any Moogle's story about their homes, the disruption following Artemicion's disappearance, anything they want to talk about? They've got a ready ear, and Kaji seems to be taking every complaint in stride. In addition, Shinji seems more certain of joining the demonstrating Moogles if Kaji is here. It takes a while before the timid Moogle leaves Kaji's side, but the more the both of them talk to everyone, the easier this seems to get.

Kaji walks along, but he's mostly here as a support, the Moogles should be taking their futures into their own hands, and he's rather proud to see it.

B: House A-14.

When the Moogles break for food, Kaji can be found taking his own break, quietly taking tea on his front porch. There's an extra sly smile on his face, though, because in between compiling notes on the Moogles, he is very carefully writing an ornate letter. Something extra special for someone extra special? Or just another piece in another plot of Kaji's? Maybe both?

Ever since the trip back to the past and him helping the moogle which turned out to be one of the betrayers, Fai has been wanting to help them more and more. So today he was there standing within the group of moogles, some of which were holding tiny little signs. Fai paused slightly as he could hear them speak.

"Maybe you could be a little louder? Would that help any? Maybe raise your signs if now?" Because apparently that was important.

Kaji is quite happy to see another of the heroes there, the two of them have run into each other enough times that Kaji can recognize him on sight. He smiles and raises a friendly hand. "I think they're getting quite good at this."

Glances at Fai with a smirk. "They have these in your world?" Demonstrations? Labor unions? All of the above?

He turned around, leaving them to chant the same thing over and over before shaking his head slightly. "No, this wasn't that common, if there was odds are I would of had to handle it or something." No instead he went around killing people, but he wasn't going to be open about that one anytime soon.

"People were loved and respected in my world, but that was so long ago for me now. It's werid to think about now. What about you?"

Hmmm. That's a pretty good question, actually. Kaji looks over the Moogles, and shakes his head a little. "Maybe in other parts of the world. Maybe before Second Impact. There were definitely a lot of people who should have organized like this. Whether or not they would?" Kaji shrugs and smiles. "Not always the Japanese way."

"In the aftermath of a disaster," Kaji waves a hand as if to indicate the buildings around them, "some people just feel lucky to still be alive. Don't want to make any more waves. It takes courage for the little guys to stand up and say 'Hey, things are still not okay.'"

"Well, even I have to admit things still aren't okay, but for these guys it's been that way for at least twenty eight years. I know because I had to help a moogle with deliveries while the rest were on strike back then. You would have thought they would of had more equal rights, but... things seem the same." He looked over to them slightly, it was quite a shame really, but he didn't even know how to help in that situation.

"It's so easy to overlook them, because they aren't human," Kaji says disappointedly. "Some people think that it's almost a charity, to let the moogles do work that no one else wants to do. But they don't realize just how powerful they are. And the way that the moogles live and get treated says a lot more about the humans in charge than the moogles, themselves." This much, Kaji understands all too well.

"Any info broker back at home would give their left arm for a network like this." Kaji shakes his head. "People in control of the information flow have a lot more power than people think."

"Isn't the world here full of other species though? Human is but one of the many, yet you never see them on strike." It just made it seem like they were treated much worse than the others, but Fai knew how powerful they could be, after all if they didn't have Mognet no one would be able to have anything delivered and everyone would be isolated.

"I know how we can help our own moogles, but one just hopes they figure out that moogles are doing an important job and are trying there best even thought one has left them."

Ib comes out to join him on the porch. She's bored today. And bored little kids can get pretty nosy.

"What are you writing?"

Kaji shifts over in his seat a little so that Ib can see more clearly. "Letter. It's for a super-secret mission." He raises an eyebrow and looks at Ib exaggeratedly, as if appraising her. "Ah, but you can keep a secret. C'mere."

It's...oh dear, it's a love letter!

She scoots over excitedly, wondering what secrets could be contained within the- Hey! Since when did he have a girlfriend? Her voice goes hushed as she scans the page.

"Is that... a love note?"

She quickly looks for a name. It better be someone nice. And pretty. And someone she knows.

Check, check, and check...because it's Zelda. "Sort of," is Kaji's answer. "Okay, really it is, but it's not a serious one."

Kaji's tone matches Ib's own, as he tells her the secret. "So, did you know that someone else from Zelda's world came here with her? Link? He's kind of quiet, but you met him, right?"

"It's not?"

She frowns. How do you write a not serious love note? That sounds sort of mean. But she's not really sure where he's going with this, so she nods.

"I've met him. But what does he have to do with this?"

"Because I'm not the one who's in love with Zelda. He is. I knew it, as soon as I met them. The one time I've seen him not be so quiet was when it was about Zelda. He loves her, and it's not just like family."

"Men and women should always be honest about their feelings, especially towards each other. And if they can't figure that out, sometimes they need a helping hand. Therefore," Kaji holds up the letter.

"Oh! So you're writing it for him!"

That's okay then. Although for the record, Zelda would have been approved to date Kaji. There's not too many ladies who would pass muster, so she should be proud. But this is fine too. Ib smiles.

"That's really sweet."

"Not...quite..."

"If it were just me writing a letter and signing it with his name, that would fall apart pretty quickly. It wouldn't be his words, you know? For it to mean anything, he has to tell her that he loves her."

"So I'm making him think that he has some competition." Kaji. What are you teaching the ten year-old!?

Only the best lessons clearly. She's intrigued by this idea though.

"Will that work? What if he gets mad at you?"

"Oh, he's going to get mad at me." Kaji nods to emphasize it. "I know that going into this. It's a little bit of the point. But it's going to make him admit to Zelda what he feels. Once he knows I wasn't serious, maybe he'll forgive it."

"Well, yeah, but-"

Now she's concerned. Link seems like a fighter type. That could get dangerous.

"What if he... challenges you to a- a duel or something?"

That's a thing people do, right? She saw it in a play a few months ago.

On most of the loops, Kidd finds her way to the moogle protests. While she knows she can't affect that much in the events going on, she still worries about the little fluffballs and Bonnie is doing her own part for moogle empowerment and Kidd is happy to see it.

She's noticed Kaji in the crowd as well and she decides to wander over to the man to chat him up. "So do you think they'll finally get what they want this time? These strikes have been a fairly regular thing." Moreso today.

Kaji smiles and nods at Kidd as he approaches. "I can only hope. I'm willing to do whatever I can to help them, without taking the fight out of their hands."

He frowns a little, but Kidd is one of the right people to float this kind of suspicion to. "Maybe problems have been going on longer than they've needed to, because their...last director...wasn't doing his job." There's a twinge of guilt there, and Kaji drops his tone of voice, because this isn't a popular name to say around here. "We should have investigated Artemicion closer."

Kidd nods and purses her lips, "Aye. I hadn't even considered his involvement. Even with Bonnie championing mooglekind it seems I underestimated them."

She watches the demonstration and her own moogle carrying a sign. "We've likely all been taking them for granted." Or at least enough people were. After a moment of quiet she glances back to Kaji. "I'm having my people trying to track Artemecion down. Hopefully we'll hear something soon."
