Event || Window of Opportunity
Characters: All Heroes of Light.
Where: Aqures Ixen - Everywhere
When: September 25th - From 12:30 to 22:30.
Summary: Heroes of Light will relive the same ten hours over and over again until they find a solution. This may be a blow to what's left of their sanity, but that's also a window of opportunity! The OOC Post is here for more information! It's not too late to sign-up, anyone can still jump right into the event! However, your vote for the total number of loops will not be taken into account any more.
Speaking of which-- Votes are in and this time displacement madness will be solved after 191 loops. Practically speaking, this means characters going through every single loop will live 2 months, 2 weeks, 3 days and 14 hours in the span of half a day. Hopefully they won't mind the food for the day, the clothes they're wearing or what they were doing when the loop started, because that's what they'll be stuck with until the end. There are some events described below, but there will be no NPC replies. Feel free to partake in these events and of course, make your own!
Warning: Too many time loops may be bad for your mental health.
The Flence Salesman
— All Day Long —
There is a salesman from Flence in the city, and he is going for every person he sees in the streets. Adults, children or elders, humans or tarutarus, it doesn't matter to him so long as he can make money! He will try to sell to the characters specialties from Flence and some crystals at absolutely awful prices, but he's open to negotiations and beyond that, he's extremely persistent. Normally, nobody would care about this, but given the salesman isn't be aware of the loop, he'll keep doing the same things over and over again... Hopefully he won't see your characters, otherwise he might just bother them for every single loop.
Moogle Demonstration for the Future of Mognet
— 12:30 => 16:00 —
For a surprise one-day long strike, the Moogles are demonstrating! There are roughly 800 Moogles together (250 according to the government, 5000 according to the striking Moogles) in the demonstration, all singing slogans and some even holding placards with "More Gil and Less Work" or "Give us Kupo Nuts" signs.
They started at 10:00 and left from the 09th District, but they will go throughout every district and explain what their protest is about. They'll finish at 16:00 and will be back to the 09th District to eat Kupo Nuts and drink Chocobo Milk together.
Biggs' Grand Return
— 14:00 => 22:30 —
After a month spent in the hospital, Biggs is finally back! He leave the Hospital at 14:00 and head straight for the Castle of Aqures Ixen. Noticeably he still has a broken and bandaged arm, but he'll pretend to be totally fine and for that matter, he will be as rude and as unfriendly as ever. He will spend most of the day in the Castle, but will go in Palitutu's Lab by 19:00 to meet with Cid. Among other things, he will side-eye everyone and will accidentally splash Cid's coffee on a Hero of Light working there (or on a Moogle, should the Hero have the good sense to avoid Biggs next loop).
Renovation of the Blitzball Stadium
— 15:30 => 20:00 —
The repairs are going steadily and today, a special dome from Trano Golsaucia is being transported and placed on the Blitzball Stadium, brand new and much more modern than what Aqures Ixen used to have! On the downside however, the airship bringing the dome and the work being done on the stadium are all very, very noisy. So noisy that everyone in a two-district radius will be bothered by it.
Under normal circumstances it would have been only for a short time and easilly bearable, but here it will happen for every single loop.
Have You Heard of the Heroes of Light?
— All Day Long —
Throughout the day, a few people are going to go and knock on every doors in the city, to talk about a most fascinating topic: the Heroes of Light! They will speak about how it is said the Heroes of Light are in Crystallis and how they managed to defeat the empire without difficulties back during the attack! Then they will go on and ask for a contribution (hear: money) to help the Heroes of Light in their cause. Of course, these people are dishonest and the money will go into their own pockets, as they don't believe in the Heroes of Light to begin with.
And of course, they'll go knock on doors during every single loop!
The Accident
— 22:29 => 22:30 —
The one minute that started it all. Who is the imbecile who committed the mistake on Palitutu's computer? Is this a Moogle or a Hero of Light, maybe Cid or Biggs? Whoever it is, after the first time, at 22:29 the program will start again on its own and will activate the loop right at 22:30, sending everything back to 12:30. The characters may try to run more programs to block the computer, cut the energy source or even bomb the building if they so wish...
But these archaic and barbaric solutions won't prevent the next loop from happening. Only hard work and scientific solutions shall prevail!

It goes~ ... It goes way too much of the same. [If you know what he means. Always interesting finding out who goes back in this loop and who resets.]
no subject
Oh -- you, too, huh? The time looping thing?
[Ven scratches at the back of his head, frowning.]
What's it been, like ten times now?
[At least...]
no subject
no subject
[...sooo he's making himself more useful out here. Although the same monster cycle is quickly losing its appeal.
Anyway! He gives that bike a once-over, his cheer returning.]
So what're you up to? Going for a ride?
no subject
Oh, Ventus is admiring his bike~ He grins and nods!]
Yep, I was! But then I saw you, and thought that we should show each other our best moves! No matter how tired or hurt we get we'll be reset, so there's nothing to worry about, right?
no subject
well. Not literally, but basically. Ven perks up.]
Oh, yeah! I didn't think of it that way. ["That way" being "we're totally free to be more reckless than usual," huh.] Sure -- I've got Dragoon and Dancer on now. How about you?
no subject
[Manami gets off his bike and lays it carefully on the ground, for lack of anything to stand it up against.
Dancer, eh? He's not seen that one in action yet.]
Dragoon and-- [He grins narrowly as he takes the spear from his back.] You know, telling what jobs you have is like showing your hand of cards... [His expression then breaks into a smile.] But Illusionist is my other one.
[Even though it gives up an advantage, it's just sparring~ You could say it will even make it more interesting.]
no subject
Sure.Dancer probably won't be too useful in the middle of a fight, but hey -- practicing that kind of stuff is what sparring's for, so it might be worth a shot.]
All right! Anything you wanna focus on, or should we just jump in?
[
haha Dragoon jokeHe grins as he readies himself -- which still feels a little odd, psychologically, since he has to hold himself a bit differently depending on whether he's using the halberd or his Keyblade.]no subject
Mmm~ I'll try to warn you when I'm using the wind so you can watch. But you know, wind is wind. [He shrugs lightly, grinning. It's not like he can call it. There's not always a good wind.]
Other than that~ [He idly twirls his spear] let's jump in.
[He looks forward to seeing how strong Ven is! Manami waits to see how he'll open, his stance still somewhat relaxed but his spear gripped firmly.]
no subject
He's the type to get things started more often than not, so he initiates with a quick and simple dash forward, braking near the end with an equally simple and pretty predictable jab of his spearhead. Nothing fancy or terribly strong, but it still warrants parrying or dodging; it's a test move above all else, trying to get an estimate of Manami's ability.]
no subject
So, he had admitted to not having fought against an Illusionist. Manami smiles thinly as he changes his posture to a ready crouch, then summons an illusion of a wyvern to appear in the distant sky behind himself. Let's see how distracting that is to Ven~
And seeing as his illusion is still a ways away, relatively speaking, he approaches Ven with a simple jab of his own.]
no subject
As often as Ven goes into the plains, he's used to keeping an eye on his surroundings -- but he's also used to plenty of background noise, visually speaking, so for the moment he assumes that distant shape in the corner of his vision is just a bird or something else. He's much more concentrated on that jab, which he counters with a sweep of his spear to knock it off course -- and he adds some significant strength at the last second, intending to disarm if Manami's not paying attention.]
rolls back in here 10 years later, sorry... /o\
In any case, time to get things rolling.
Manami brings his illusion soaring swiftly closer, out of his own range of sight but fully in Ven's. And he's sure to make sure the illusionary wyvern looks angry~
With most of his concentration on that, his attack is a simple jab with his spear again, although he is curious to see if Ven really is more predisposed to countering than evading.]
haha it's ok!
...But habits die hard, even with the installed instincts of his Jobs -- so when he notices the approaching shape, this time Ven drops his stance to twist in place and jerk backwards to avoid that jab, and the maneuver manages to look much more natural than the previous.]
Hey--!
[Y U P that thing looks ticked, and there's no time for a warning -- so using the momentum from his dodge, Ven turns, falls into a crouch, and then leaps into a Jump, intending to meet that wyvern on the way and try and knock it off-course.]
<3 !
And while Ven is Jumping at the illusion, Manami focuses more of his attention on it. The wyvern screams defiantly as it gets 'knocked' by Ven's attack. Although, even with his ability to fully control the perception of reality, how a thing feels when you hit is is a difficult thing to replicate... Ven will probably notice something wasn't right.
Ah, well! When he comes down from the Jump, Manami will be there to meet him with Dragon Breath! In that respect, the wyvern's purpose as a distraction is accomplished.]
no subject
Dancer skills might not be useful in a one-on-one match, but the stats are something else when combined with old habits. In this case, the familiar sight of a fire spell is enough to get him moving, Dancer helping him leap sideways to land on his free hand, pivot, and redirect his momentum to land on his feet again in a quick backwards trot, narrowly avoiding the magic.]
Hey! [It's not the spell that bothers him, but DUDE THERE'S AN ANGRY DRAGON THING WHY AREN'T
YOU...
worried...
...wait. Wait.]
no subject
[Nope, you might not want to 'wait', because now that Manami has let go of the illusion, he can put his full attention on trying to hit you with his spear!
With a grin he Jumps. Of course, because he's up against another Dragoon, this won't be so simple. He's not practiced this technique much, but nothing like a spar to really give it a go!
He uses Vanish to instantly move himself from the peak of his jump to just behind Ven's right side, aiming to hit and disable his right arm. Because he's falling from his jump when he reappears his swing is a bit awkward though. (He'll need a lot more practice to get the timing and movements right! But still, cool trick, right!)]
no subject
Moreover, he wastes no time in switching his his grip on his halberd so that his left hand is dominant. His right isn't hurt so badly that it's out of commission, but since they're training, he might as well pretend it is for the sake of the experience. Rather than reeling from the blow, he immediately counters -- by way of launching forward as he casts Spirit Surge, his speed increasing significantly halfway through the motion. He goes for a sweeping horizontal strike, and this time he doesn't hold back on the strength he puts into it.]
no subject
Even as he was rightening his own stance from his own attack, Ven was coming at him again, using Spirit Surge right in the midst of the attack! Manami brings his spear up defensively, but the force is still enough to send him flying back and knock the air right out of him.
The burning in his chest, the numbness of his arms, the gash in his side where the spear tip caught him-
He pants heavily, getting to his feet as quickly as he can, smiling broadly, ecstatically.]
I'm... alive...
[He has to use Spirit Surge too now, to even keep up with Ven.]
no subject
He smiles as he brings his halberd back around, risking a brief moment's rest with its shaft against his side -- just enough to let him readjust his grip.]
Gettin' serious now, huh?
no subject
He smiles easily, but his eyes are still telling of the intensity of his focus right now.]
Arakita-san complains that it's like a switch. When it's 'off', I'm too easy-going. When I'm 'on', I can't hold back~ Heh- that's what he says~!
[Right now, Manami doesn't have much left for doing special attacks, so he'll show off one more Illusionist ability. --Well, maybe a couple abilities.
He charges straight at Ven, but mid-stride uses vanish to move himself into Ven's blind spot. Once he reappears he uses disguise and copies to make himself look like Zelda-san, and make five copies of her around them.
Ven's instincts are good though- Manami keeps his spear ready to deflect what might come his way...]
no subject
He turns in a quick circle, clearly startled by that double trick. It takes him a moment to remind himself that it's only an illusion, but then he rights his grip on his weapon, remaining tense and doing his best to keep his attention divided evenly between each of the copies. There might be something that gives the real one away, but he can't pick up on it on such short notice.]
I'm gonna guess only one of you can actually hit me. [Of course, the trick lies in not being duped by a fake for so long that the real one can land a hit... Still, he doesn't waver, but keeps turning on his feet.] Who wants to go first?
no subject
Manami mentally applauds how quickly Ven recovers from his surprise and analyses the situation.
Welp, he knows what he needs to work on now: making his illusions more tangible!
That will have to wait for another day, as he's running low on power to make this magic as it is. He- and the other four Zeldas- shrug slightly with a smile, then all close in on Ven. It looks a little strange as all five of them wield an unseen spear, Manami aiming to sweep Ven-kun's feet out from under him and make him yield at spearpoint.]
no subject
When in doubt, choose All of the Above, right?
Ven would normally try to cut it a little closer, but since he can't watch all five, that would be too risky. He hesitates only a heartbeat before Jumping again -- but on the way up he uses Mirage Dive to summon two clones of his own, and he cuts the Jump short with Crescent Moon -- which all three use. As a bonus, it requires a keen eye to follow and pinpoint the real one -- but either way, it's a group attack, so it has a good chance of hitting all five Zeldas if they don't scatter quickly.]
no subject
Rolling away, his spear knocked from his hand, Manami comes to a stop and lays still with his face down for a long moment, just catching his breath. He feels light-headed from having used so much of his magic up, and his ears are ringing from the Crescent Moon.
Then, he starts laughing lightly into the grass between deep breaths.]
Haa- hahaha- haah. That's it for me, I think! You're really good, Ven-kun! I should call you 'senpai'! Ahh, I didn't even get to show you my wind-assisted Jump! I'll do it- just give me a sec~
