Event || Window of Opportunity

Characters: All Heroes of Light.
Where: Aqures Ixen - Everywhere
When: September 25th - From 12:30 to 22:30.
Summary: Heroes of Light will relive the same ten hours over and over again until they find a solution. This may be a blow to what's left of their sanity, but that's also a window of opportunity! The OOC Post is here for more information! It's not too late to sign-up, anyone can still jump right into the event! However, your vote for the total number of loops will not be taken into account any more.

Speaking of which-- Votes are in and this time displacement madness will be solved after 191 loops. Practically speaking, this means characters going through every single loop will live 2 months, 2 weeks, 3 days and 14 hours in the span of half a day. Hopefully they won't mind the food for the day, the clothes they're wearing or what they were doing when the loop started, because that's what they'll be stuck with until the end. There are some events described below, but there will be no NPC replies. Feel free to partake in these events and of course, make your own!

Warning: Too many time loops may be bad for your mental health.

The Flence Salesman
— All Day Long —
There is a salesman from Flence in the city, and he is going for every person he sees in the streets. Adults, children or elders, humans or tarutarus, it doesn't matter to him so long as he can make money! He will try to sell to the characters specialties from Flence and some crystals at absolutely awful prices, but he's open to negotiations and beyond that, he's extremely persistent. Normally, nobody would care about this, but given the salesman isn't be aware of the loop, he'll keep doing the same things over and over again... Hopefully he won't see your characters, otherwise he might just bother them for every single loop.

Moogle Demonstration for the Future of Mognet
— 12:30 => 16:00 —
For a surprise one-day long strike, the Moogles are demonstrating! There are roughly 800 Moogles together (250 according to the government, 5000 according to the striking Moogles) in the demonstration, all singing slogans and some even holding placards with "More Gil and Less Work" or "Give us Kupo Nuts" signs.

They started at 10:00 and left from the 09th District, but they will go throughout every district and explain what their protest is about. They'll finish at 16:00 and will be back to the 09th District to eat Kupo Nuts and drink Chocobo Milk together.

Biggs' Grand Return
— 14:00 => 22:30 —
After a month spent in the hospital, Biggs is finally back! He leave the Hospital at 14:00 and head straight for the Castle of Aqures Ixen. Noticeably he still has a broken and bandaged arm, but he'll pretend to be totally fine and for that matter, he will be as rude and as unfriendly as ever. He will spend most of the day in the Castle, but will go in Palitutu's Lab by 19:00 to meet with Cid. Among other things, he will side-eye everyone and will accidentally splash Cid's coffee on a Hero of Light working there (or on a Moogle, should the Hero have the good sense to avoid Biggs next loop).

Renovation of the Blitzball Stadium
— 15:30 => 20:00 —
The repairs are going steadily and today, a special dome from Trano Golsaucia is being transported and placed on the Blitzball Stadium, brand new and much more modern than what Aqures Ixen used to have! On the downside however, the airship bringing the dome and the work being done on the stadium are all very, very noisy. So noisy that everyone in a two-district radius will be bothered by it.

Under normal circumstances it would have been only for a short time and easilly bearable, but here it will happen for every single loop.

Have You Heard of the Heroes of Light?
— All Day Long —
Throughout the day, a few people are going to go and knock on every doors in the city, to talk about a most fascinating topic: the Heroes of Light! They will speak about how it is said the Heroes of Light are in Crystallis and how they managed to defeat the empire without difficulties back during the attack! Then they will go on and ask for a contribution (hear: money) to help the Heroes of Light in their cause. Of course, these people are dishonest and the money will go into their own pockets, as they don't believe in the Heroes of Light to begin with.

And of course, they'll go knock on doors during every single loop!

The Accident
— 22:29 => 22:30 —
The one minute that started it all. Who is the imbecile who committed the mistake on Palitutu's computer? Is this a Moogle or a Hero of Light, maybe Cid or Biggs? Whoever it is, after the first time, at 22:29 the program will start again on its own and will activate the loop right at 22:30, sending everything back to 12:30. The characters may try to run more programs to block the computer, cut the energy source or even bomb the building if they so wish...

But these archaic and barbaric solutions won't prevent the next loop from happening. Only hard work and scientific solutions shall prevail!

[Yuna gently picks up the fabric, smiling wistfully at the design.]

Your stitching is very good. It’s usually hard to get it this even.

[Her gaze looks back at him while placing his work back on the table.

It isn’t that she didn’t want to talk about the time loop. She just wasn’t sure what to say about it, she feels more than a little useless which isn’t a feeling that she’s okay with.]

I just came to check on you but you seem to be doing fine. I’m glad.

Yeah, I'm fine! I never thought I could run out of things to do, but that's what it's starting to feel like. [It's a joke, mostly. Although he wouldn't have made it if he knew he was going to be spared from the majority of the loops later, unlike some others.

He sits on the couch again, moving his stuff to the coffee table in case Yuna wants to join him. Given her compliment on his stitches, though--]

So do you sew, Yunie?

[Yuna takes a seat next to him, her legs stretched out in front of her and crossed at the ankle. It feels like she's running out of things to do to and it's slowly driving her insane.]

A little.

[It's nothing that she perfected.]

One of the acolytes taught me.

Oh, yeah? [He reclines a bit, staring at the ceiling in thought.] I learned a few simple things around the castle. Then I made a friend once who needed help on fixing up a dress; it was a lot of work, but it was fun, too. [And he learned a lot from it, enough to keep on picking up some skill with it even now.] Rae said I shouldn't waste the talent, but I don't know what I could do with it.

[It's just for kicks, really, and doing small favors for Rae.]

[Yuna laughs softly.]

A dress? That sounds amazing, you can always make clothes for people. I'm sure they'd like it.

[She's almost curious about this dress but she won't ask in case he doesn't want to share.]

It is an amazing talent.

Hmm... Maybe if I get good enough one day. I couldn't tailor another ballgown on my own just yet.

[He picks up the bag again, picking at where some of the threads have started to get tangled.]

I don't mind doing small stuff for now, though! Especially if others like it. [If this time loop thing goes on for too long, he could even try different patterns and gauge which one Rae likes best and surprise her with that one and

wow he really hopes this doesn't go on that long]

So they're making really good progress on the stadium, huh? [considering they can hear the construction from the yard.]

What would you wear a ballgown too?

[Not that Yuna's ever worn anything than fancy nor has she had a reason too. Either way it sounds nice.

She smiles at his next comment and then turns as if looking out where the stadium was. Lately it's been the same progress but they could at least practice.]

Yeah. I've had a lot of down time lately.

[She want to play again.]

It was a... [What did Cinderella call it?] A royal ball -- at a palace. I met a girl who really wanted to go, but she didn't have time to finish her dress. So me and another friend got it done.

[The memory makes his smile grow. He's just naturally the type of person of loves helping others, and Cinderella's reaction made all that work ~~and nearly getting mauled by a cat~~ more than worth it.

But anyway--]

Well, I'd be up for practicing some more anytime! It's been a while and I don't wanna get rusty.

[He's been focusing so hard on training since his recovery that Blitzball practice slipped his mind.]

[Yuna smiled with him, it sounds like a really nice memory.] It must have been an amazing dress then. [Things made with care are far more amazing than things bought or at least Yuna thought so.]

[At the mention of Blitzball practice her smile widened a little bit more.]

We can practice without the stadium if you want.

[Water might be a little cold since it’s going into winter but that never really bothered Yuna. It’d be fun and she liked the idea of doing something through these time loops.]

[Ven quickly sits up. His handiwork might reset by the time they're done, but he's got this thing more or less memorized by now, anyway.]

Sure! Got anywhere in mind?

[...Basically "do I need to grab my Keyblade" just in case it's outside the city.]

[Yuna laughs softly. She doesn't have anywhere specific in mind though there is a place that she used to practice, at least when she first arrived.]

There is a lake. You can see it from the west gate and it wraps a little bit around the city before expanding slightly. I used to practice there.

[It's just outside the city but it isn't to far away and they'd probably be safe without anything to crazy.]

[Oh! Well, that sounds pretty close. Taking along weaponry is probably unnecessary.

So he nods as he stands, taking a moment to responsibly gather all his craft supplies into a bag and setting it aside so they're not in the way for whoever comes home next.]

Okay! Ready if you are!

[Eager McBeaver over here.]

[Yuna laughs softly. She doesn't have much with her so there isn't anything for her to collect.]

Can we stop by my house? I have a few Blitzball's we can lose.

[When you are kicking a ball really far, that happens. She smiles softly, stepping across the room and towards the front door. She pauses with her fingers hovering just above the door handle.]

Ready?

Sure! [Come to think of it, maybe he should get a few himself after this loop mess is over; maybe he can improve on his own a bit and surprise her sometime! ~~Some habits never die.~~

Ven's right behind her, only slowing to make sure he has his key on hand to lock the door once they leave. Once that's found--]

Let's go!

[Yuna smiles brightly, leading the way from his house to hers. It isn't so far and she's excited so she might be running there. Without needing to unlock the door she slips inside. She already knew that Celes was here because he's been doing the same thing each day.

She doesn't look to see if Ven's still behind her. She runs to the basement which is where her room is happily situated and grabs a few Blitzballs. Some need to be blown up though.]

[Ven makes sure not to fall behind, easily keeping pace with her and following her in. He waits at the top of the stairs, though, and once she returns he moves to help her with a laugh.]

Think we'll need the extras?

[Can't hurt, though!]

Probably.

[She smiles brightly, passing over a few of the deflated balls to Ven. She puts one to her lips and slowly begins to blow the plastic material up. Soon enough she’s holding a full sized Blitzball. Of course these are just used for practice, a real Blitzball isn’t just filled with air but this works well for what Yuna has in mind.]

I usually lose or pop these.

[Yuna tosses the ball up bounces it once on her head, watches it hit the ceiling of her house and then quickly bounce back to the floor where Yuna proceeds to chase after it.]

But they are good for technique.

[Once she’s saved the ball she tucks it under her arm and then walks towards her front door.]

[Well, at least if they lose or pop any of these, she'll have them back in a few hours. Excuse to be a little more rough and reckless? Maybe.

Ven mimics her and blows up one of the balls he was passed, and then follows with the rest tucked under his arm.]

So what kind of technique do you wanna work on this time?

[Once Yuna had the ball blown up she lightly bounces it in her hands. She looks back with a smile trying to think about the different shots she knows.]

We can practice the Sphere Shot or the Jecht Shot.

[Which technically has a longer name but it’s hard to call it that without giggling so she’ll leave that unsaid for now.]

[He might have heard the announcer at her games mention one or both of those -- it feels like so long ago that he's not sure -- but it doesn't do much to call a visual to mind.]

Oh! Do you use 'em a lot?

Sometimes.

[She taught them to herself after Tidus had disappeared. The Jecht shot still isn't perfect but it's her own.]

I can show you? I think the Sphere Shot is the first kick I showed you.

[That feels so long ago.]

Oh, yeah? Well, I could definitely use some practice with the basics, too! It's been a while.

[Before he was shot, which is starting to feel like a lifetime ago.

Then again, where would that leave his life before Crystallis? Two? Technically three?]

I've focused so much on training with my Jobs -- hope I didn't forget everything.

[That's said with a grin -- mostly a joke.]

[Yuna doesn’t really believe that Ven has forgotten everything that he knows. Even so she’s willing to start from the basics. Once they are outside and in place she passes. She places down the Blitzball taking a moment to look over the horizon. A slight smile pulls at her lips before she turns back to Ven. Her palms clapping together.]

Alright!

[She gently flicks the ball on top of her foot and then lightly kicks it over to Ven.]

Let’s see what you remember.

[At least then she’d know where to start. Behind her the water shimmered in the soft light of the sun, a slight breeze blew over them chilling the surrounding area.]

Got it!

[He flicks the ball onto the toe of his shoe and kicks it up into his hands, rotating it idly for a moment as he thinks over what he remembers. Then, with a nod, he tosses the ball up and catches it on the top of his head, balancing for a few seconds -- and bounces it again, twists, and kicks it towards Yuna before it can hit the ground, although he curbs the strength he puts into it so she can catch it without a problem.]

Something like that!

[Yuna catches the ball in between her palms. A light smile pulling at her lips as he kicked the ball perfectly to her. Really he should part of the team and she doesn’t understand why he’s not.]

That’s good. How many times can you bounce it on your head?

[She is almost positive that he’s up to a very high number. Yuna usually goes until she loses count and then starts over again.]
