Event || Window of Opportunity

Characters: All Heroes of Light.
Where: Aqures Ixen - Everywhere
When: September 25th - From 12:30 to 22:30.
Summary: Heroes of Light will relive the same ten hours over and over again until they find a solution. This may be a blow to what's left of their sanity, but that's also a window of opportunity! The OOC Post is here for more information! It's not too late to sign-up, anyone can still jump right into the event! However, your vote for the total number of loops will not be taken into account any more.

Speaking of which-- Votes are in and this time displacement madness will be solved after 191 loops. Practically speaking, this means characters going through every single loop will live 2 months, 2 weeks, 3 days and 14 hours in the span of half a day. Hopefully they won't mind the food for the day, the clothes they're wearing or what they were doing when the loop started, because that's what they'll be stuck with until the end. There are some events described below, but there will be no NPC replies. Feel free to partake in these events and of course, make your own!

The Flence Salesman
— All Day Long —
There is a salesman from Flence in the city, and he is going for every person he sees in the streets. Adults, children or elders, humans or tarutarus, it doesn't matter to him so long as he can make money! He will try to sell to the characters specialties from Flence and some crystals at absolutely awful prices, but he's open to negotiations and beyond that, he's extremely persistent. Normally, nobody would care about this, but given the salesman isn't be aware of the loop, he'll keep doing the same things over and over again... Hopefully he won't see your characters, otherwise he might just bother them for every single loop.


Moogle Demonstration for the Future of Mognet
— 12:30 => 16:00 —
For a surprise one-day long strike, the Moogles are demonstrating! There are roughly 800 Moogles together (250 according to the government, 5000 according to the striking Moogles) in the demonstration, all singing slogans and some even holding placards with "More Gil and Less Work" or "Give us Kupo Nuts" signs.

They started at 10:00 and left from the 09th District, but they will go throughout every district and explain what their protest is about. They'll finish at 16:00 and will be back to the 09th District to eat Kupo Nuts and drink Chocobo Milk together.


Biggs' Grand Return
— 14:00 => 22:30 —
After a month spent in the hospital, Biggs is finally back! He leave the Hospital at 14:00 and head straight for the Castle of Aqures Ixen. Noticeably he still has a broken and bandaged arm, but he'll pretend to be totally fine and for that matter, he will be as rude and as unfriendly as ever. He will spend most of the day in the Castle, but will go in Palitutu's Lab by 19:00 to meet with Cid. Among other things, he will side-eye everyone and will accidentally splash Cid's coffee on a Hero of Light working there (or on a Moogle, should the Hero have the good sense to avoid Biggs next loop).


Renovation of the Blitzball Stadium
— 15:30 => 20:00 —
The repairs are going steadily and today, a special dome from Trano Golsaucia is being transported and placed on the Blitzball Stadium, brand new and much more modern than what Aqures Ixen used to have! On the downside however, the airship bringing the dome and the work being done on the stadium are all very, very noisy. So noisy that everyone in a two-district radius will be bothered by it.

Under normal circumstances it would have been only for a short time and easilly bearable, but here it will happen for every single loop.


Have You Heard of the Heroes of Light?
— All Day Long —
Throughout the day, a few people are going to go and knock on every doors in the city, to talk about a most fascinating topic: the Heroes of Light! They will speak about how it is said the Heroes of Light are in Crystallis and how they managed to defeat the empire without difficulties back during the attack! Then they will go on and ask for a contribution (hear: money) to help the Heroes of Light in their cause. Of course, these people are dishonest and the money will go into their own pockets, as they don't believe in the Heroes of Light to begin with.

And of course, they'll go knock on doors during every single loop!


The Accident
— 22:29 => 22:30 —
The one minute that started it all. Who is the imbecile who committed the mistake on Palitutu's computer? Is this a Moogle or a Hero of Light, maybe Cid or Biggs? Whoever it is, after the first time, at 22:29 the program will start again on its own and will activate the loop right at 22:30, sending everything back to 12:30. The characters may try to run more programs to block the computer, cut the energy source or even bomb the building if they so wish...

But these archaic and barbaric solutions won't prevent the next loop from happening. Only hard work and scientific solutions shall prevail!

[She knows what you really want, you monster. If he gets it, it's not going to be through any admission of hers. She flops down on the grass to sit beside him, heaving a sigh of disgust.]

You have no idea. A man saw fit to lose all of his clothes and run multiple laps around the cafe. Honestly, I question this world's judgment sometimes over the people it elected as Heroes.

[ Good,then it would be better if she didn't talk too much about her endeavors with him. He would tease her forever and a decade about it until he got bored obviously. Well, calling him a monster isn't wrong either Rukia. He wouldn't blame you if you decided to nickname him that. ]

Somehow, I doubt you're kidding about that. Lucky for me, nothing bizarre happened while I was lazing around here enjoying the breeze. At least, until you came by with a marker, Shorty. Nice try though. You got lucky the first time but I don't think round two is happening.

[ He replied laughing a little. ]

Well, between you and me, I am no Hero either. These guys made a mistake and I'm not interested in working by the whims of others.

[She flashes a mischievous smile. He'd better be careful, Rukia can be fairly impish when given the proper motivation. Yuri's already got the personality for it. Rukia reclines on her hands, regarding him with a curious tilt of her head.]

Why do you say that? You came to my aid quickly enough, I'd consider that to be heroic.

[Does he just suffer from a low self esteem, or are heroes completely over-the-top windbags of do-gooding where he's from?]

[ He grinned at her mischievous smile. Yuri was ready to play her game when he felt the need to. She was a bit of a sneaky little thing, he'll admit that much. ]

You call that Heroic, I call it doing what's right.

[ He replied with a shrug. ]

You don't have to understand it really. I'm no hero.

Are they not the same thing?

[He doesn't seem like the modest type, so she can only guess he feels guilty about something...or perhaps he just doesn't measure up to someone he considers to be a better hero? She should have read his file.]

Any time you put the needs of another before yourself, you become that person's hero, whether you consider yourself a hero or not. In that regard, you are my hero.

[An excited Moogle 'kyaaaahhhh's in the treetops overhead, to which Rukia directs a flat stare. She needs to be more careful about what she says when Chappopo is around.]

...I'm so glad she's not aware of the time loop.

Not at all. If you think being a Hero means you're doing the right thing, then you're wrong. There's more to doing what's right than doing good. Sometimes it means getting your hands a little dirty.

[ He replied seriously to Rukia without obvious bluntness. He didn't see any of it as the same thing because they were different. If he were a good person he wouldn't have killed those people to benefit the rest of the world. He's definitely no modest at all. ]

You're a bit strange, Shorty, but hey it's not like I have the right to stop you from calling me whatever you want. Just don't expect me to live up to any expectations. I'm definitely not that guy.

[ He replied with a brief laugh. Yuri shot Chapo a look for the sound she made. ]

Oh yeah? She isn't? Seems like Acrisius is in the same boat.

It sounds as if you're thinking of something specific.

[Rukia gazes at him curiously, holding one knee loosely to her chest. She knows a little about 'doing the right thing' instead of 'doing what's lawful' herself.]

What did you do that makes your hands so dirty as you claim them to be?

[She's not sure if he'll answer her or not, but she isn't afraid to ask him about it. How else will she know? She's sworn off snooping through people's files without their permission, though if he decides to give her the go-ahead, she'd probably take him up on it. Even so, she'd rather hear it from him instead.]

[As for expectations, she just smiles with a mild shrug.]

I'd be satisfied with friendship.

[Hopefully that's not too high an expectation for him.]

[ As in he's dropping the talk about it for the time being. He doesn't change his views on what he believes in and Rukia won't be able to sway him too much from it. She can try though. However, Yuri has a different track of mind compared to other people. ]

Why don't we leave those campfire stories for later. I'm pretty sure there are more important things we need to be concerned about than my past.

[ He replied using his sword to get him off his feet and then tucking it back in his sash. She could ask what she wanted but it was a subject he wouldn't be sharing with a mere stranger. Not that he cared about hiding it. It wasn't something he needed to bring up. ],/small>

[At this point, it's not so much trying to change his mind as it is understanding his point of view. Honestly, she just doesn't get it. She watches him stand, then sighs, and follows suit.]

And what important things would that be? Napping in the same spot three days in a row?

[She brushes the grass off of her black hakama.]

I'm not trying to be nosy. Whatever you say to me, you say in the strictest confidence. There is much I don't understand about you, and I had hoped to learn it from you directly instead of through a research file.

[She's still aching a little from that previous discretion.]

[ It's fine if she doesn't get it. Yuri is a bit more complicated than he appears to be honest. It's not her fault that she's confused about him. He often leads people the wrong way because that was how Yuri liked to act. It was easier this way for him to be honest. ]

Nah, more like some adventuring. I'm kind of bored of napping under a tree and little missy here is trying to draw on my face. I assume other folks might be interested in pulling little pranks too with this mess.

[ He laughed a little as he started walking though slow enough for Rukia to catch up. ]

Well I guess you'll have to stick around and find out? I'm not the type of guy that likes to talk about myself, unfortunately for you.

[Adventures? She's interested. Any sort of training she can glean from this loop will surely be beneficial, and after running into that hamster, she's loathe to enter the calm plains on her own. She hastens to catch up to him, though he needn't slow his stride for her sake. Her steps are quick and confident.]

I wouldn't call it unfortunate. It's different, though.

[Rukia looks up at him, her brow creased in perplexity.]

I'd always wished more people would reach out to me, and try to get to know who I am. I apologize if I presumed you would have the same needs.

[She faces forward again, her expression thoughtful.]

I would like to understand you better. Perhaps another day.

[ Yuri was fine with that as well. Of course, if she could gain anything from the experience, than it would be better. Yuri wasn't opposed to giving her a hand when she needed it. He puts a hand on his hip and stops briefly. ]

Yeah? To each their own, I suppose.

[ He replied with a smile still on his face. ]

You got the wrong guy for that reasoning, Shorty, not that it hinders our relationship or anything. Why worry about the past while we got the present and future to look forward to?

[ He replied, softening his gaze a bit at her response. He wasn't trying to hurt her feelings or anything. ]

You'll get that opportunity soon enough. I'm actually not that hard to get.

[She blinks up at him. Is that what she's getting wrong? Is she trying too hard to impress her own emotional tactics on him? Rukia knows she's not the type to talk about what's bothering her. She supposes it's possible that what's bothering him doesn't exist anywhere outside of her own mind and assumptions. But still... How will she know when there's something causing him trouble? No one is completely carefree, and he's so tight-lipped about the past that she can't help thinking there really is something buried in his past that's giving him trouble today.]

[But he's asking her to let it drop either way. Begrudgingly, she does so, as she doesn't have any real alternatives.]

Would you tell me if there were something bothering you?

[She'll just ask it directly then. The expression on his face is a little more reassuring. If he could at least give her this, she wouldn't have to fret any further.]

[ Yuri was a lot more complicated than he led on so she was right on that. The tactic didn't work on someone who was well aware of many things in his life. He was always aware of the misfortune and fortune that he brought to others and himself, though his shitty luck never seemed to have changed since he found himself here, but there were people that made things a bit better for him to deal with. Yuri was not the type to share his issues or personal matters with anyone. He often kept it to himself.

Flynn was one of the few that he was pretty sure he confided to in regards to those problems but Flynn had always been with him since they were young. They strangely understood each other to some extent, even if it meant punching and beating each other up to make that point. ]

Probably not.I don't like getting all mushy with people about my feelings.

[ He shrugged. Aka, he's close to dropping this conversation too. ]

You shouldn't worry too much about my well being shorty. I get by.

[Rukia frowns, glowering at him. Then she relents with a sigh.]

At least you're honest about it.

[It's not like she's much better. After so many years of feeling isolated and alone, it's difficult for her to open up to other people about the things that bother her. So in a sense, she can understand. And since he answered so truthfully, she knows a little more how to react with him. When he calls her shorty again, she jabs a finger into his side. Stop that.]

Anyway, it's not a question of strength. I know you're capable of taking care of yourself. Just know that you may call on me for assistance, whenever you wish. I would like to return the friendship and help you've given to me.

[ He's not sorry for what he's saying at all really. ]

Honest is what I do best, Shorty.

[ He replied as they resumed walking. Yuri didn't find it isolating or lonely to not tell people about his problems. Really, he already had, but the person wasn't around for him to complain to right now. Yuri would just keep most things to himself until the time was right. He didn't need to involve people he hardly knew into his own personal problems. ]

Naturally. I'll let you know if there's anything I need. How's that sound?

[She smiles. The nickname still annoys her, but she's starting to pick up a little bit of affection. As long as that's there, she can't get too angry.]
