Event || Window of Opportunity

Characters: All Heroes of Light.
Where: Aqures Ixen - Everywhere
When: September 25th - From 12:30 to 22:30.
Summary: Heroes of Light will relive the same ten hours over and over again until they find a solution. This may be a blow to what's left of their sanity, but that's also a window of opportunity! The OOC Post is here for more information! It's not too late to sign-up, anyone can still jump right into the event! However, your vote for the total number of loops will not be taken into account any more.

Speaking of which-- Votes are in and this time displacement madness will be solved after 191 loops. Practically speaking, this means characters going through every single loop will live 2 months, 2 weeks, 3 days and 14 hours in the span of half a day. Hopefully they won't mind the food for the day, the clothes they're wearing or what they were doing when the loop started, because that's what they'll be stuck with until the end. There are some events described below, but there will be no NPC replies. Feel free to partake in these events and of course, make your own!

Warning: Too many time loops may be bad for your mental health.

The Flence Salesman
— All Day Long —
There is a salesman from Flence in the city, and he is going for every person he sees in the streets. Adults, children or elders, humans or tarutarus, it doesn't matter to him so long as he can make money! He will try to sell to the characters specialties from Flence and some crystals at absolutely awful prices, but he's open to negotiations and beyond that, he's extremely persistent. Normally, nobody would care about this, but given the salesman isn't be aware of the loop, he'll keep doing the same things over and over again... Hopefully he won't see your characters, otherwise he might just bother them for every single loop.


Moogle Demonstration for the Future of Mognet
— 12:30 => 16:00 —
For a surprise one-day long strike, the Moogles are demonstrating! There are roughly 800 Moogles together (250 according to the government, 5000 according to the striking Moogles) in the demonstration, all singing slogans and some even holding placards with "More Gil and Less Work" or "Give us Kupo Nuts" signs.

They started at 10:00 and left from the 09th District, but they will go throughout every district and explain what their protest is about. They'll finish at 16:00 and will be back to the 09th District to eat Kupo Nuts and drink Chocobo Milk together.


Biggs' Grand Return
— 14:00 => 22:30 —
After a month spent in the hospital, Biggs is finally back! He leave the Hospital at 14:00 and head straight for the Castle of Aqures Ixen. Noticeably he still has a broken and bandaged arm, but he'll pretend to be totally fine and for that matter, he will be as rude and as unfriendly as ever. He will spend most of the day in the Castle, but will go in Palitutu's Lab by 19:00 to meet with Cid. Among other things, he will side-eye everyone and will accidentally splash Cid's coffee on a Hero of Light working there (or on a Moogle, should the Hero have the good sense to avoid Biggs next loop).


Renovation of the Blitzball Stadium
— 15:30 => 20:00 —
The repairs are going steadily and today, a special dome from Trano Golsaucia is being transported and placed on the Blitzball Stadium, brand new and much more modern than what Aqures Ixen used to have! On the downside however, the airship bringing the dome and the work being done on the stadium are all very, very noisy. So noisy that everyone in a two-district radius will be bothered by it.

Under normal circumstances it would have been only for a short time and easilly bearable, but here it will happen for every single loop.


Have You Heard of the Heroes of Light?
— All Day Long —
Throughout the day, a few people are going to go and knock on every doors in the city, to talk about a most fascinating topic: the Heroes of Light! They will speak about how it is said the Heroes of Light are in Crystallis and how they managed to defeat the empire without difficulties back during the attack! Then they will go on and ask for a contribution (hear: money) to help the Heroes of Light in their cause. Of course, these people are dishonest and the money will go into their own pockets, as they don't believe in the Heroes of Light to begin with.

And of course, they'll go knock on doors during every single loop!


The Accident
— 22:29 => 22:30 —
The one minute that started it all. Who is the imbecile who committed the mistake on Palitutu's computer? Is this a Moogle or a Hero of Light, maybe Cid or Biggs? Whoever it is, after the first time, at 22:29 the program will start again on its own and will activate the loop right at 22:30, sending everything back to 12:30. The characters may try to run more programs to block the computer, cut the energy source or even bomb the building if they so wish...

But these archaic and barbaric solutions won't prevent the next loop from happening. Only hard work and scientific solutions shall prevail!

[After watching the Heroes of Light evangelists knock on a few doors, it's easy to see they were suspicious. He approaches them in uniform, and gives them a few questions, completely unimpressed by the total BS they're spewing. The more he listens, the more he wishes he didn't have to approach them. This is crazy.]

...Do y'all actually have any idea what ya sound like right now?

[If you'd rather harass visit the marshal on his own, you can catch him later in the day at his house. He'll be outside his house in Mercury's shelter, brushing the rocket steed's coat and half-humming, half-singing to himself.]

"They sound like religious lunatics. Ones who have so little self worth they have devoted it towards grasping at something they don't understand just to grab a bit of its glory."

She then looks at them and shakes her head, "Nor will your protests about not understanding because of the light sway me like it has not the 11 other times I have witnessed this."

Well, they were about to protest, but the evangelists are confused by what Elizabeth. So is Sparks, for that matter.

"More like just some grifters who're usin' the Heroes of Light to-- wait, what? How many times have ya run into these guys today?"

Because that's what she must have meant, right?

"Just once, but today seems to be going on and on again. It is almost like the abyss of time, but less irritating. Still."

She looks at the evangelists much in the same way a cat looks at a mouse, "Do you need help dealing with them?"

Sparks isn't sure what that means, so he just shoots Elizabeth a raised eyebrow. But as far as dealing with them, he shakes his head.

"Nah, just gonna write 'em up a ticket since solicitation like this is a fineable offense. Maybe that'll be enough to help dissuade 'em from this nonsense."

He shoots the con artists a pointed look. He knows they're up to more than that, but without more evidence, this is the best he can do for now.

"This day hasn't seemed.... Longer than usual to you? Ah well."

She peers at the con artists and tilts her head, "Such is your right as an embodiment of law dealing with a disciple of chaos I guess."

"No...? Dealin' with these fellas is sure draggin' it out."

He finishes writing up the tickets and hands them off to the grumbling evangelists, who shuffle off. Sparks just shakes his head at them.

"I gotta feelin' I'm gonna see 'em back in town tomorrow."

"Then is this perhaps the tenth or eleventh time you have had to deal with a group like this?"

Olivier has passed behind him many times by now, and she's getting tired of hearing him try to dissuade the con-artists.

"Trust me, you're wasting your breath on them," she says when she passes behind him this time. Next time the loop restarts, she'll probably avoid this street. When he takes not of her, he'll notice she's not in her usual standard street clothes nor uniform, but something much more feminine.

He'd just bust the evangelists, but he has no real evidence on them. It'll require more investigation, but for now he could at least try to get them to stop.

"Reckon it sure feels that way. But maybe I can get through their thick skulls and--"

Sparks does a double take at Olivier. Wow.

"And, uh. I..."

Now he just feels stupid. He awkwardly clears his throat and tips his hat at Olivier like it's nothing.

"... And I oughta write these folks up a warning for solicitation. Thanks for the suggestion, General."

Sure, that'll work. Sparks hastily takes out his ticket book and starts writing the annoyed con artists up.

"You'd have better luck escorting them out of town. They probably don't even live here with the hustle they seem to be running."

She noticed the double take, but doesn't comment on it or his apparent issue with words at the moment. She is pretty sure it's the clothes. She usually dressed this way when she wanted to catch people off guard.

"I'm sure they don't. Reckon they'll be takin' their leave nice 'n hasty once they all got their tickets. Y'can pay yer fines by mail."

The evangelists all exchange glances and grumble at Sparks as they're all handed their tickets. He starts herding them towards the nearest town gate when he turns back to Olivier.

"Care to help me rustle these fellas outta here?"

[Bloom couldn't help but sigh, it seemed it wasn't just the one off and they seem to be everywhere.]

I don't think they really care what they sound like. But they aren't breaking any laws yet, so we can't do a thing.

Reckon they ain't. However, according statute 4546A, subsection D, what they're doin' is solicitation, a fineable offense. So some tickets are in order.

[He takes out his ticket book and starts to write them up.]

Reckon they've also won themselves a first-class police escort outta town, too. Excitin', huh?

[He shoots the con artists a sarcastic smirk before tearing out the tickets and handing them over. They grumble something about persecution before taking them.]

[Bloom wondered if she should really consult the book again to check it over, but she knew he would more likely be right. This type of thing seemed to be his life after all, something she knew he was more than use to.]

I'll make sure to remember that for when I see them next time. I never would have thought I'd be learning something new today.

[Sparks knew the codes inside and out, just like he did on Mars. He's been on Crystallis long enough to be able to recite them in his sleep at this point.]

Reckon ya should, cuz I have a feeling they'll be back. [He tries to mumble that to her out of earshot of the evangelists, as he starts corral them towards the road out of Aqures Ixen.]

They could do other better things than bothering people during this time.

[It bugged her a little bit to say the least, but she wondered if perhaps just giving them a fine will actually solve this problem or if they will just bug someone else later.]

I wish I could do more though.

A lotta people could be doin' better things at any time, really. Doesn't mean they will.

Do more? Just keep an eye and ear out for any more of these fellas, that's all ya can do. Hand out enough fines, 'n they might finally get the picture.

Okay, but I guess it's not just about the job, it's other things in general. Don't you wish you could do more?

[she meant to visit one of these days- and after a few run-ins with the evangelists, she's giving them a wide berth. Hopefully they've passed his place for the day. And what an opportunity, besides! She gives Sparks a bright smile as she approaches, ears up.]

That's sounding pretty good, there.

[Sparks can almost carry a tune. He's not good, but he's not terrible either. The horse seems to be enjoying it, though. Sparks gives K'pandolu a tip of his hat in greeting.]

Y'think so? I mean, yeah. 'Course. Out of practice, I guess.

She smiles wryly.]

We've all been busy, of late. [to say the least. Ah, but now she turns to the horse, brightening a little.] And this is your steed, I take it?

[He can be in key. Keeping it there is a whole other story.]

Yep. Mercury, this is K'pandolu. K'pandolu, Mercury. Rocket steed. Sidekick. Was able to talk once. Not no more, thank god.

[He pats the horse on the nose despite the muttered disparaging remark. He seems like a pleasant creature though, if weird. Most places in the multiverse didn't have half-cybernetic horses, if they had horses at all.]

Hello, Mercury. [and she moves in, the better to look at him from up close, giving his neck a pat. With a quick glance back at Sparks:] Some induced condition, I take it?

What, the robot parts? Reckon it's not as much of a condition as it is his usual state of being. I guess they ain't got rocket steeds where yer from then. People 'round here ain't even seen a horse, let along a cyborg one. He's kind of a celebrity now.

[Not that Mercury seemed to mind the attention, like right now with K'pandolu.]
