Event || Window of Opportunity

Characters: All Heroes of Light.
Where: Aqures Ixen - Everywhere
When: September 25th - From 12:30 to 22:30.
Summary: Heroes of Light will relive the same ten hours over and over again until they find a solution. This may be a blow to what's left of their sanity, but that's also a window of opportunity! The OOC Post is here for more information! It's not too late to sign-up, anyone can still jump right into the event! However, your vote for the total number of loops will not be taken into account any more.

Speaking of which-- Votes are in and this time displacement madness will be solved after 191 loops. Practically speaking, this means characters going through every single loop will live 2 months, 2 weeks, 3 days and 14 hours in the span of half a day. Hopefully they won't mind the food for the day, the clothes they're wearing or what they were doing when the loop started, because that's what they'll be stuck with until the end. There are some events described below, but there will be no NPC replies. Feel free to partake in these events and of course, make your own!

Warning: Too many time loops may be bad for your mental health.

The Flence Salesman
— All Day Long —
There is a salesman from Flence in the city, and he is going for every person he sees in the streets. Adults, children or elders, humans or tarutarus, it doesn't matter to him so long as he can make money! He will try to sell to the characters specialties from Flence and some crystals at absolutely awful prices, but he's open to negotiations and beyond that, he's extremely persistent. Normally, nobody would care about this, but given the salesman isn't be aware of the loop, he'll keep doing the same things over and over again... Hopefully he won't see your characters, otherwise he might just bother them for every single loop.

Moogle Demonstration for the Future of Mognet
— 12:30 => 16:00 —
For a surprise one-day long strike, the Moogles are demonstrating! There are roughly 800 Moogles together (250 according to the government, 5000 according to the striking Moogles) in the demonstration, all singing slogans and some even holding placards with "More Gil and Less Work" or "Give us Kupo Nuts" signs.

They started at 10:00 and left from the 09th District, but they will go throughout every district and explain what their protest is about. They'll finish at 16:00 and will be back to the 09th District to eat Kupo Nuts and drink Chocobo Milk together.

Biggs' Grand Return
— 14:00 => 22:30 —
After a month spent in the hospital, Biggs is finally back! He leave the Hospital at 14:00 and head straight for the Castle of Aqures Ixen. Noticeably he still has a broken and bandaged arm, but he'll pretend to be totally fine and for that matter, he will be as rude and as unfriendly as ever. He will spend most of the day in the Castle, but will go in Palitutu's Lab by 19:00 to meet with Cid. Among other things, he will side-eye everyone and will accidentally splash Cid's coffee on a Hero of Light working there (or on a Moogle, should the Hero have the good sense to avoid Biggs next loop).

Renovation of the Blitzball Stadium
— 15:30 => 20:00 —
The repairs are going steadily and today, a special dome from Trano Golsaucia is being transported and placed on the Blitzball Stadium, brand new and much more modern than what Aqures Ixen used to have! On the downside however, the airship bringing the dome and the work being done on the stadium are all very, very noisy. So noisy that everyone in a two-district radius will be bothered by it.

Under normal circumstances it would have been only for a short time and easilly bearable, but here it will happen for every single loop.

Have You Heard of the Heroes of Light?
— All Day Long —
Throughout the day, a few people are going to go and knock on every doors in the city, to talk about a most fascinating topic: the Heroes of Light! They will speak about how it is said the Heroes of Light are in Crystallis and how they managed to defeat the empire without difficulties back during the attack! Then they will go on and ask for a contribution (hear: money) to help the Heroes of Light in their cause. Of course, these people are dishonest and the money will go into their own pockets, as they don't believe in the Heroes of Light to begin with.

And of course, they'll go knock on doors during every single loop!

The Accident
— 22:29 => 22:30 —
The one minute that started it all. Who is the imbecile who committed the mistake on Palitutu's computer? Is this a Moogle or a Hero of Light, maybe Cid or Biggs? Whoever it is, after the first time, at 22:29 the program will start again on its own and will activate the loop right at 22:30, sending everything back to 12:30. The characters may try to run more programs to block the computer, cut the energy source or even bomb the building if they so wish...

But these archaic and barbaric solutions won't prevent the next loop from happening. Only hard work and scientific solutions shall prevail!

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

[Yuffie isn't stupid, she knows she can't dodge that breath. She turns away shielding her eyes and face from the attack while letting it sear her limbs and back. When the fire is gone Yuffie sits on the ground looking up at Manami with a pout.]

Magic is cheating.

[Not that her time magic, wasn't magic.]

Shit when did you get awesome. That really isn't fair.

[Yuffie jumps back to her feet and then runs at Manami, she is not okay with him winning.]

[He just grins at that. It could be argued that the dragon breath was a skill, not magic. But then, both of them have used magic this fight, so there's no point in splitting hairs.

He is extremely pleased at the compliment- enough so that his smile is more genuine for a moment. That is, before she jumps to her feet and charges at him.

Eyes wide, his expression is feverishly excited as he extends his spear before him and calls out,]

Chaos thrust!

[If she can't evade that, it's going to hurt a lot~]

[Yuffie isn’t trying to evade anything anymore. She lets his blade dig into her side, the pain and heat from the attack flaring through her. It’s nothing compared to pains of the past and she’s able to keep moving, her small blade sinking into his side.

She isn’t going to pull it out, instead she’s going to rest her head on his shoulder and stand very still.]

OW! Manami that hurts!!

[She peeks sideways up at him, her lips forming a smile while also grimacing.]

[The thing is, Manami isn't one to think too deeply about consequences. He knew the time loop absolved him of them, but he missed something.]

[Yuffie's body impacting his spear sends a shudder through him. In every sparring match before everyone always... evaded... so well...

When she stabs him despite her own injury he laughs quietly at the sensation. What it feels like to be stabbed- to feel alive-
The euphoria of that moment is dulled by the weight of Yuffie's head on his shoulder, by her pained smile.

His eyes grow wider with some yet-unregistered emotion even as he returns the smile.]

Of course. You didn't evade it at all...

[But she's hurt. She's really hurt, and he's holding the spear that hurt her.]

Y-Yuffie-san. I- I have a potion here. You know, Tia won't let me take one step out of the house without at least three on me now. [Why is his voice wavering like that? As he talks, he holds the spear in his left hand as his right goes to the pouch on his waist. Perhaps it's best to not move too much now.] Three- three is a bit much, isn't it? [Why is it so hard to grasp the vial?] So seeing as I can't possibly drink three on my own, you ought to at least have one, all right? M-maybe two. [Finally, he's able to work one vial out of the pouch and brings his hand back around in front of him.] Your face looks a little scary when you smile like that, you know?

[Yuffie laughs which reminds her that laughing hurts. Her hand slowly moves over to the side which is stained by the blood that’s slowly spilling from the open wound. Her fingers press against the slick warm opening gently assessing the damage. After a moment she pushes her palm against her side, applying pressure while also sending waves of pain through her small form. Manami will notice the weight on his shoulder slowly getting heavier.

She doesn’t look as concerned about it as he does. She’s use to fighting, she’s used to getting hurt and while it does hurt, she’ll get better so she can’t really complain.]

Don’t make me laugh it hurts.

[Even so she’s smiling, her hair falling around her face as if to frame the expression that shouldn’t be there. The rest of her hair is gathered in a ponytail that trails down the center of her back. She’s happy that he has positions on him because she most certainly does not.]

Potion sounds good but I think you might have to help me.

[She’s not about to move her palm away from the wound in her side. She is already starting to get dizy and potions do nothing for blood loss.]

Is this your first time stabbing someone?

[She doesn’t peg him as the killing type.]

[With his hands full, he uses his teeth to unstop the vial of potion and shrugs his shoulder a bit to get Yuffie to move her head so he can put it to her lips.]

Drink this.

[First time stabbing someone...?]

Someone... You know, I think it is. I've killed lots of monsters here, and sparred lots of times, but like this... [He swallows, his throat suddenly dry. Once Yuffie is done with that potion, he should drink one too.]

[Yuffie groans when he moves his shoulder, clearly displeased with the gesture. Her head is starting to swim which is making it hard to focus on anything other than the burning pain at her side. Even so, her head rolls slightly, her dark eyes looking up at Manami while her lips continued to rest in that eerie half smile. Sweat dotted her forehead as he held up the bottle.]

Well monsters don’t often talk back at you.

[She winces when she inhales, she should really drink that instead of talking.]

Guess you’ve never killed someone, huh? [He should really get on that.

Yuffie tries to lift the potion with her free hand; however the bottle slips through her fingers before she can even lift it from Manami’s hold. Blood loss really sucks and it’s slowly sapping her strength as the sticky dark liquid slips between her fingers. Instead Yuffie rests her hand on his wrist bringing the bottle to her lips. Her eyes glance over at him expectantly as if to tell him to tilt the bottle up so she could drink.]

[He obediently tips the vial slowly, carefully watching her drink.]

Heh- what are you saying? Of course I've never killed anyone. I'm a normal high school student.

[He feels a little relieved once Yuffie finishes the potion.]

You should probably lie down. Haa, I feel like I should lie down too.

[The weight of his spear in his left hand and of her head on his shoulder seem to be pressing him to the ground. Which is a strange contradiction to how light his head feels. Oh, yah. And he'd been stabbed too. Lying down would probably be good.]

I've killed people.

[Yuffie laughs softly, she quickly feels the affects of the potion but it still doesn't help with the lightheaded feeling that's over taken both of there senses.]

I can't find the ground.

[She's completely serous and she feels more comfortable using him as a pillow anyway.]

You should drink one too. [Her voice sounds a little distant and it almost makes her want to giggle.]

[It's not a topic he was expecting to talk about, but somehow it wasn't too surprising to know that she'd killed people before, although her saying it so clearly made a shiver run up the back of his neck.

Now that the potion is in her, it should be safe to pull out his spear...

...Can't find the ground?]

Haa~ that's a problem, Yuffie-san! But I'll drink a potion first... [And he suits actions to words, pulling out the second vial a bit more easily than the first and downing it in three quick gulps. At least they probably won't die now! (Right?)]

I'll pull my spear... [he hesitated for a beat over the literalness of this-] out of you... and then help you to the ground, okay? Oh, and you should probably take this knife out of me, okay?

Yeah, yeah. I got it.

[She is a little clumsy but feeling the spear move sent a brief rush of adrenaline through her thin form. Her fingers curl around the hilt of her blade, she quickly pulls it out so that he doesn't have to deal with any extra pain. Her dark eyes look up at him hoping that it isn't to bad. She's at least used to worse.]

You okay?

[To be fair, the ground feels very far away. She isn't really sure where her feet are. There might also be issues with just laying down in the middle of the training ground.]

[Heh heh. Being un-stabbed feels good too.

Manami leans forward, one arm around Yuffie's back, trying to ease her body to the ground. He gets almost there, but then the muscles in his core give out and he staggers the rest of the way, landing her on the ground with a bit of a thump, and him on top of her.]

Ahhh... sorry?

[Manami rolls to the side to get off of her, and lies beside her for a moment. Just give him a sec. He'll get you that third potion in a sec.]

[Yuffie isn't very heavy so it isn't to hard to help her find the ground. All is going well, until she feels the ground approaching at an alarming rate. Her eyes widen as they fall, a soft grunt leaving her lips and then a pained moan.]

Manami!

[She tries to help push him off her and she inhales a relieved breath when his weight is gone.] I think that hurt more than the spear.

[Yuffie looks up at the sky, watching clouds roll across a sea of blue. It still hurts but it's feeling better. She'll live, as long as they take a little while to rest. Her head rolls to the side looking over at Manami who is laying next to her.]

Why are you so heavy?

[She smiles.]

[Manami's hand is searching at his side for the last potion when she asks that, and he pauses to grin over at her.]

'Cause I'm a climber! I have lots of muscle~ Why are you so light?

[Yuffie weakly pushes his shoulder.]

Because I'm adorable.

[There are a lot of reason why she's light, she' short and their's her training but really it's because she's small and cute.]

And Cute.

Admit it. [She sticks out her tongue at him.]

Ohh, is that it? Then why aren't I lighter?

[He finally gets his fingers around the last vial and holds it out towards her.]

Heh, but sure, Yuffie-san is cute~ Except when she has a strange smile or sticks out her tongue~

[Yuffie shakes her head, weakly pushing the vial back towards him. She'd live and she doesn't want to take his last potion.]

That's not true. I'm cute all the time.

[She giggles looking back up at the sky.]

You're just not as cute as me.

[A trace of a frown flickers over his expression at her refusing the potion but... he supposes there's no reason to be stubborn over it. They'll both be fine in a few hours.
But he'll remember all this, and she won't.
He lets the vial fall on the ground between them.]

I suppose that's 'cause I'm a boy, and you're a girl. Aren't girls supposed to be cute? And boys~ ... are handsome! [His grin matches his saying that so laughingly. He's not thought about it before, but objectively speaking, he probably wasn't all that 'handsome' himself, for all that Toudou-senpai complained about him taking his fangirls.]

[~~Nope, you're for sure more cute than handsome, Manami...~~]

[Yuffie laughs at his logic. She'd agree that he's more cute than he is handsome but she wondered how much that might pop his bubble. So instead she takes another direct with this conversation.]

Yeah, but if you're so handsome why don't you have a girlfriend?

[She giggles softly.]

I bet the girls are all over you.

Hahaha, Yuffie-san, you say really strange stuff. I'm not so handsome. I'll leave that to Toudou-san. He even has fans! They come to practices and wave these shiny fans and call out to him- it's really funny~

[That makes her giggle.]

That sounds really weird.

[Not that Yuffie hasn't stalked her share of people.]

That doesn't mean you don't need a girlfriend.

Nah, that's just normal when around Toudou-san!

[His grin turns into a blank look. A girlfriend?]

What for?

[Yuffie can't believe he just said that.]

So you have someone close to you? Someone you can talk to and likes you for being the doofus you are.

[She wants to roll over to look a him but she's feeling so very tired. It wouldn't be too strange to nap in the middle of the training yard would it? She's sure the blood on both their clothing would alarm anyone walking by but she doesn't really care.]

It's really nice but really annoying at times.

Nah, I don't think I have anyone like that. ...Oh, or I guess everyone is like that! I can talk to the other members of the racing team about bikes! And I think they like me well enough, even though I get yelled at a lot, heh heh~

I guess if you know that it's nice but annoying, you must have someone like that! Haha, I bet Yuffie-san's boyfriend is really strong and scary~

[Yuffie sticks out her tongue.]

I don't have a boyfriend right now but yes. Anyone who dates me is handsome and strong and nice.
