better late than never

Who: Everyone!
What: A week late Halloween celebration.
Where: The Observatory
When: Friday, Nov. 6, 7:00 PM
Warnings: The Heroes and a party. What could possibly go wrong?

On November 5, another letter from Johnny would go out to everyone reminding them of the costume party, and invite all the newbies along as well. Costumes are a necessity for entrance, except for the newbies, since they've only been here a little over 24 hours now.

The Observatory is in its usual party set up, but this time with an added stage area for any musicians who would like to perform. It's also the spot set up for the costume contest later on. The whole place is covered in festive Night of the 13 Moogles decorations, and as always, there's plenty of food and drinks.

[[This is just a general mingle log, and a good way for the new Heroes to meet everyone, so post whatever and have fun!]]

[Zelda smiles up at Meteor before nodding towards the stage.]

Go on then.

[Now that he's decided Zelda's going to lightly take his hand and pull him towards the stage.]

[Nervously, he went up on stage as he picked up the microphone.]

Hello everyone. I hope you pardon my Goblinesque.

[Clearing, his moogle began the appropriate music as he started to sing]

[Zelda smiles as he sings and she makes sure to give all her attention to the stage. It isn't like music she's used to but she likes it all the same. Her own songs are only her voice and her harp as accompaniment.

When he finishes she claps with a wide smile pulling across her lips.]

[Hopping off the stage, he took up his punch and sipped it.] That was hard on the throat. Gobblespeak is pretty complex even if it sounds simple.

I really liked it. Where did you learn to sing like that?

[As he drank she went ahead and got him a second glass of punch.]

I had some prior training as a bard, and when I once fought an opponent in Alexander, the Goblins were singing this song.

That sounds like an interesting time to learn a song.

[Zelda's eyes light up slightly, it's obvious that she's impressed.]

Would you like to try the apple game?

Of course! Lets see...

[Setting his cup down, he went over to the apple game and eyed it for a moment.] It is good I didn't wear anything on my face other than the monocle.

[Zelda laughs softly, her thin fingers covering her mouth. She has to pull out a hair clip from her pocket and carefully tied back each long flowing strand of gold. It takes some time before she has her hair safely secure behind her.]

Want to go first?

[They'd probably bang heads if they try and play at the same time.]

[He nodded, letting her go first. After all, it was fun to watch Zelda attempt games and such. It was even cute.]

Go ahead.

[This is going to get messy though Zelda doesn't seem to care. She carefully holds her ponytail to her chest as she leans over the barrel. An apple bobs into view and she goes after it, her teeth trying to chomp on the juicy red surface only to have the apple slip away.

She raises up, water dripping down her features with a smile pulling at her lips.]

It's harder than I thought.

[She can't stop laughing as she wipes the water away from her crystal blue eyes. Strains of gold have matted to her cheeks but her hair has escaped most of the water.]

[He laughed, nodding as he watched her go for it.]

It does seem harder. Maybe I will fare better.

[Taking his turn, he took off the monocle as he prepared a dunk, and he went for it. His teeth slid across the apple, as he bit down several times, but was unable to get it. With a yelp, he tumbled forward a bit, before righting himself, but his front was soaked.]

Pray, I did not fare well. Much the pity!

[Zelda laughs handing Meteor a towel. She's already wiped the droplets of water away though the hair around her face was still a little damp.]

It was a valiant effort.

Aye, unfortunately it was for naught.

[Taking the towel, he dried off as best as he could.] Truly an ingenious game to convince someone to try multiple times though.

I think I'm fine with one try.

[Zelda is still giggling, her thin finger rubbing at one of her eyes.]

I've never been very good at games like this.

I'm glad you are having fun though.

The same with I.

[Folding up the towel, he turned to place it into a bin where it came from, a sheepish smile on his face.]

It's been a long time since I could just relax like this, to be quite honest. Most of my life in Eorzea is from one adventure to another.

I'm glad then. Relaxing is good.

[She often stays at the old observatory though she might try and experiance her own adventures once of these days.]

Well hopefully you'll take a break from adventuring to visit me at least.

I think I'll do that. I can always make time for you, Zelda.

[Cause you know, it was awesome he had someone to come home to.]

[She's glad to hear it, despite the time she spends working alone in the observatory she likes it better when she isn't by herself. Her lips curl into a warm smile.]

Thank you. Maybe we can have even more parties like this.

[More so since the winter holiday was approaching.]

Ah yes, that's right! Winter Vale is coming soon. I had almost forgotten the time. If All Saints Wake was last week, then Winter Vale comes.

I will miss the festivities in Eorzea this year, but I will not be upset if I can spend it with good friends and people I care about.

What's Winter Vale?

[Zelda tilts her head slightly, her blue gaze curious. She doesn't know much about other holidays however she's learned some of Crystallis's traditions.]

Winter Vale is a time of gift giving to the children, men and women of Eorzea. It is a time of peace and happiness, although some strange things happen once in a while in Winter Vale such as snowmen appearing in places that should not have snow.

However, there is a tale of a jolly bearded man, who goes around giving the most exquisite gifts to young and old, to spur their hopes and dreams on. We call him the Saint of Nymeia, who goes around during the Starlight Celebration which is held during the winter vale month.

That sounds amazing and very similar to the practices here.

[Zelda is already making plans of Christmas gifts for everyone.]

The Starlight Celebration is another name for it too and there are presents and snow and carols and it's a lot of fun.

Then there is something in common! Perhaps we should look into finding Saint of Nymeia outfits then, so we could go around giving gifts?

I try and give gifts. I'll probably start now and then give them out towards the end of December.

[She pauses for a moment.]
