Summary: Kobato is still feeling down in the dumps about her part in what happened days past.
Warning: No warnings.

Kobato had currently spent most of her time keeping to herself and trying to bottle up how she felt inside. But it always had a way of showing itself, so she did the next best thing. She tried to keep away from those she cared about. Those she considered friends in her mind. She even tried to avoid those who were new but she didn't seem to get by with that.

She soon found herself near the fire crystal once more as she quietly went to sit down away from everyone. For now all she wanted to do was be alone and try and think of ways to help people in her way to say sorry. If anyone spots her and comes over they'd notice she was alone and her moogle wasn't even around. She really was all alone for the moment.

Yeul was in a similar position and while Hibiscus had thrown a fit about her leaving the house alone she needed space to think. With all these things happening she didn't know what to do.

Her foot steps were soft as she approached and her expression static. She recognized Kobato from the time they all awoke in the forest and wondered what was on her mind. She stopped in front of her, hesitating for a moment. "Are you lost?" She assumed the girl knew where she was but her thoughts appeared to be as chaotic as Yeuls.

Kobato had looked up ever so slightly. Usually it would be a case of her being lost, but not this time. She didn't even think she would mind if she was lost as it meant she could be alone to think.

Giving a small but obviously faked smile she tried her best to seem positive. "No, I'm not lost this time, I'm just thinking."

"About last week then." Yeul's head dropped for a moment, inspecting the ground. She didn't know what to say about the matter and she wasn't very good at asking or giving for advice. She only saw things the way they were and tried to accept it. She stood their silently trying to think, to be useful but nothing was coming to mind.

Her fingers held the edge of her white skirt tightly as she tried to focus her thoughts and steady her growing nerves.

She gave a small nod and like the other her head wad dropped. She didn't want to look up no matter what now. "What happened... I am just wondering if it really is out fault or not.... I feel like it is but..." She gripped her dress as she spoke those words. It was hard to hear herself say something like this.

But deep down she did still wonder.

"You did what you thought would save others. Even if it was hard. We might have been tricked but your strength is commendable." Her tone softened some but it Yeul believed this to be correct. It takes strength to do things that might not end well but everyone should always work towards what they believe in.

"I did but they hurt them... That was not what I would have wanted." She gripped her skirt slightly. It was never what she wanted, not at all. She doesn't believe that it is strength, at least for her anyway.

"I'm sure your friends know that. I.." She thought back to that dark night. "I fought them, while trying to protect someone. I do not know people here as you do but I know that at that time I did what I thought to be right. Life is to short to regret it." Yeul had given her apology and had left it at that. She didn't care of others forgave her or not because if it came down to it she would do anything to protect the world that her and Caius lived in.

Zelda has been looking for her friends since she awoke but finding Kobato proved to be difficult. She had sent Kopu out to ask at her house while she walked aimlessly through the city. It wasn't difficult to spot her, standing silently in front of the crystal.

She didn't know what to say. Zelda's own fate had been shocking and she still didn't have a handle on how she felt. She wanted to be a hero but she was still the one being protected. Her hand rested on her heart as she slowly walked up to her friend.

"Kobato?" Her voice was soft and gentle as she quickly tried to figure out what to say.

Koabto's mind had drifted away for a moment, her thoughts racing through her head. It wasn't nice but she couldn't help but feel this way. She didn't want to feel this way. As she thought about what she had done and what problems it had caused she heard a voice she clearly recognized and one she knew what had happened.

She slowly gripped her hands tightly, feeling even worse than she did before as tears were starting to well up, but she tried to not let them fall. No, she shouldn't be able to cry, not now.

"Ze-Zelda-san..." She said softly, not raising her head at all, feeling like she should show her face to the other. She felt as if this was the least she could do.

She stopped a step behind her and smiled gently. "Are you alright?" It was a strange situation but Zelda didn't blame those involved. She was worried about how everyone else was doing.

She wanted to reach out and comfort her friend.

She gives a small nod, hoping that it would help the other. She didn't mind if she really didn't feel fine so long as everyone else was okay. "I-I'm fine as I'll ever be."

She moved her hands and wrapped them around her legs lightly, her eyes tracing every line on the floor as she did. It helped her focus a little bit.

Zelda finally moved to sit next to her and looked out at the city around them. "It might be hard but please know that you aren't alone."

She didn't know how to explain what she wanted to say fully so she started with what she knew to be true. She believed in Kobato and nothing was going to stop that.

She wasn't alone. She could hear that over and over again. She certainly felt alone sometimes, after all there was no one here she knew, but at the same time through her adventures she knew she had made some friends. She had hoped anyway.

But even though she knew that to be the case... She doesn't believe it, not after her part in what happened. Gripping her hands on her skirt, her arms still wrapped around her legs she was near tears. Even after the part I play... Why wouldn't I be alone? It was a horrible thing."

Allenby wasn't... say... stalking her, but she realized that she hadn't spoken with Kobato in a while, and she was one of the first people to welcome her... sort of. At the least she felt they got along just fine.

Not to mention just training all by oneself gets incredibly boring and lonely and comes wit ha terrible case of tunnel vision.

Having finally found her, and oblivious to her feelings, Allenby sneaks up and gently taps her fist on the top of her head. "Surprise!" she says cheerfully. "Long time no see!"

Kobato hadn't been paing that much attention, her eyes focused on the crystal as she jumped the moment the fist was on her head. "Eh!?" she yelled slightly suddenly turning around., it really was unexpected after all.

"Al-Allenby-san... I-It really has been a while." She said slowly calming down a bit, her eyes slowly glancing not to her friend, but to the floor.

"Yeah. Hope it hasn't seemed like I was avoiding you or anything." she says moving her hand to her hip instead.

"So, what's got you over here all by yourself. You seemed more like the social butterfly to me." She's not blind. She can tell she's a bit down, but, perhaps the contrasting cheer, and upbeat curiosity, can even the two of them out.

"N-No, I didn't think it was anything like that, you were just buy like I could be at times." That was the conclusion she came to at least.

"I just wanted to think things over" She said nervously looking at the ground some more her hands started fidgeting with her robes. "After what happened... I just needed to think."

"After what happened, huh?" And that was her cue to pry into the poor girl's sadness and hope to help sort through it, or at least help her feel better.

"But... if you'd rather not talk about it, that's fine too. But you don't have to sit there and keep it all to yourself."

She paused slightly, she didn't want to talk about it, but at the same time she knew that most people knew of what happened that night.

"It's just...you know what happened right? That night..."

Cloud was out of sight for a few days following the incident as well. While he had tried to tough out the geostigma while he had it, now that the problems had passed he was finally convinced to keep quiet and rest up just to make sure it didn't come back. Seeing as he nearly died in the fight with Tifa, he opted to not argue the point.

Even so, he couldn't remain cooped up forever and he was out for a walk. Mako fluttered along, not talking to the blonde but not arguing with him either. Progress in their relationship perhaps?

He gasped a bit in surprise as he spotted her by the crystal. He stood dumb for a moment, mulling over what to say. What to ask her. He finally settled on something simple as he walked up, "Kobato...hi..."

Kobato had used this time to sit and be at one with her thoughts, which while trying to figure them out made her even more confused than before. After all she had lead many people towards those who would try and kill them and for what? She couldn't help but feel bad about that. Sure, she wasn't one to fight and she didn't get that involved but she still had her part to play.

Looking up she heard a voice of someone she knew and it was obvious Kobato herself wasn't her usual happy go lucky self.

"...Hi, Cloud-san..." She tried her hardest to give a small smile, but she knew it was somewhat forced.

Kobato wasn't the only one with that thought on their mind. He couldn't blame her for what she did, but she did play a role in the encounter he had with Tifa, which was the real thing that was chewing at his gut at the moment.

"About the other day...during that whole thing...It's okay..." He mumbled his way through the words. He could get them out talking to Kobato, but what he was really doing was practicing for saying it to Tifa. Saying he was just waiting for her to be ready to talk was just an excuse to put it off.

She couldn't just but stare at him for a moment, slightly puzzled, but knowing she had been told this a few times alright. It was okay. This had been said to her already and she didn't let it get through, at least not right away. But now another had said it, maybe she should.

"That's what people say, but...I guess shouldn't blame myself so much. I mean after all.. I would probably say the same thing."

Cloud steeled his expression and nodded, pushing his worries from his mind. Listening to the different discussions floating around it seemed like the ones who had succumbed to illness were the ones they wound up on the opposite side of in the last incident. He had been sick himself and if things had been different he probably would have turned on everyone too.

"Yeah. It could have been me instead of you. Or anyone else. It's not like you chose to do it, right? How have you been feeling since then?"

Kobato knew in her case it wasn't the illness that had taken her, but that was something she never wanted to admit to anyone else. But she had to admit she kind of understood by what he meant. She guessed anyone could have been in her situation and anyone else could have been fighting the others. She knew it wasn't her choice, but it still made her feel bad.

"I see... I guess that is true." She had never really thought about that until now she had to admit.
