Summary: The Heroes of Light have lost consciousness and now find themselves in the middle of nowhere, without their Moogles and away from everything they know. I wish there was at least a hot springs around here to soak in.

[Lailah sighed. Yes, that was her priority right now. Her hair got way too tangled during this excursion.]

I know I shouldn't complain, but it would be nice to at least have some sort of amenity. No wonder this area isn't as well off as Aqures Ixen!

Is that all you can really think about?

[ Mikleo sighed as Lailah said that. Of course, their journey seemed a bit too clean and calm. He didn't like the feel of it and he certainly didn't want to believe that they had it easy for a moment.

He had been stiff since they woke up and he was continuously reminding Lailah about their current situation and that they couldn't take this too lightly. ]

We have more important things to worry about such as where we are and what brought us here along with how are we suppose to get back? Also, don't you think this calm is a bit strange? We haven't even encountered a monster.

Given that everything else seems too easy... yes.

Besides, all we can do is keep moving forward.

That is true but we should be on our guard. We shouldn't take any of this lightly.

[ He replied still not changing his expression as Lailah didn't seem to be taking it too seriously. Then again, it seemed typical for her ]

It seems like we're going the right way so far.

I was thinking...

[Lailah stares off into the distance.]

What if we were not taken from Aqures Ixen to make things harder for us, but because if we were still there right now, something terrible may befall us?

[ Mikleo's face becomes more grim at Lailah's question. He was thinking the same needless to say. They were suddenly shoved in the middle of the world without anything other than birds that could help them traverse back. Were they even going to take them back to the city anyway? ]

I'm not entirely sure but if you put it that way, we're being protected by some outside force that's interfering with what this world has for us. That's a bit of an outlandish assumption but definitely not impossible.

It's all conjecture at this point, but we need to be mindful of any and all possibilities, just in case.

Things are different when there isn't one Shepherd and one Lord of Calamity to deal with, aren't they?

I know, I know. It's better to be cautious and aware of our current situation. It's better to weight our options instead of not.

[ He sighs. ]

No kidding. It's a lot more exasperating with all the hidden powers. Some of which we have information on and others clouded in mystery.

Hmm, I think I have an inkling of how you and Sorey must have felt when I withheld information from you regarding the Shepherd's Journey. For that, I apologize.

Hmm? I suppose it's a lot different than the Shepherd's Journey to be honest. Please don't apologize, Lailah. Sorey and I made our choices when we did. We don't regret it. Honestly, we've done a lot more than we'll ever do without your guidance.

For that I'm truly thankful to you.

[Lailah lowers her head, though a small smile is present as she looks away.]

Thing is, apologies aren't usually offered to make the receiving party feel better. They're there to assuage the guilt the repentant feel.

I will continue to apologize, because it is the weight of my own sins that have put us - no, the world - in danger again and again.

It's not entirely your fault, so you don't have to bear it alone Lailah. At least understand that much. In any case, we should try our best to get back safely.

[ He replies with a nod of his head to her words. ]

It's all we can do right now and ensure that nothing happens and that everyone is unharmed.

I understand that now.

I just wish I understood that during our previous journey.
