Event || The Answer

When: April 20th to April 30th.
Summary: The Heroes of Light have lost consciousness and now find themselves in the middle of nowhere, without their Moogles and away from everything they know. [He should have probably walked away too to be honest. It probably looked like Ichigo was causing trouble to those villagers even if he didn't intend to but...

He sighed and scrubbed a hand through his hair. They were different people but he felt like he should be looking out for them.]

I can't say I remember seeing any familiar people from home in Aqures Ixen but I don't know what makes this place any different.

It's a mystery. One I'm not entirely sure if we want to stick around to find out the truth behind.

I don't know if it's an illusion or an alternative world, but regardless of the answer I don't think we'll find ti satisfying.

Whatever it is... it just seems like these villagers are normal people, going about their lives.

[That he happened to yell at but it was a knee-jerk reaction.]

All of this is probably normal to them.

It's hard to tell what si real and what isn't.

[Flynn pauses for a beat.]

Truth be told, I envy those who have a family waiting for them back home.

[He watches Flynn out of the corner of his eye.]

...Can I ask?

It's nothing crazy. Just an orphan. My father died in the line of duty, and my mother a little while after that.

Basically, when I go home, all I have is my job waiting for me.

Most other people have their family.

[Ichigo is silent for a few moments as he looks forward again. He can't even imagine losing his entire family, he only lost his-- ....]

...That must have been hard to lose them like that.

It was, but it was a common story where I'm from. Wars and monsters lurk everywhere, and moving to safer places was never an easy thing to do. When Yuri and I left, things looked to be on the right track, but there's no telling how long that would last.

It's a step in the right direction at least. There's probably a lot of people who can't fight and even though Yuri is an asshole it sounds like you both are doing your best to protect them.

[The war Ichigo was involved with was a little complicated but maybe not as different as the ones in Flynn's home world. There were people that were caught in the middle and those who insisted to put them in danger.]

Doesn't seem to matter what world it is, there's always idiots that push to start a fight and don't care if people get hurt in the process.

He can be forcible disagreeable at times, but I wouldn't go as far as calling him an asshole.

[of course Flynn would defend him.]

No human lives forever, either - who can say whether or not our legacy will live on?

It's a bit of a sobering thought, one that gives me pause occasionally.

[Oh no, Flynn. Yuri is definitely one. Ichigo can't really blame Flynn for defending the guy but he gives him a flat look just the same.]

I'm not too sure about the whole legacy thing. I guess some people want to be remembered by everyone for the things they've done but they could waste their whole lives doing that. They wouldn't be living at all with the friends they already got.

It's a bit of a conundrum.

I suppose the best thing to do would be to try to leave the world a little better place than when you found it. Of course, that's also subjective.

[Before some morons decide to mess it all up but he refrains him saying it. It won't help their present and home situations at all and he settles for watching some of the other villagers that they pass, not at all wondering if there were any others that he recognized. He can't help it.]

Maybe it is but it's probably good advice one way or another.

[He pauses for a moment.]

Even though we're all the way out here it at least looks like this place is safe for now.

[Flynn politely bows, a bit out of nowhere.]

I just wanted to express my thanks for keeping it together. We haven't traveled together before, but it seems that you're no stranger to danger, and I'll be counting on you - rather, all of us - to get through this predicament safe and sound.

So thank you for your help.

[Ichigo blinks at Flynn's bow. Why is he...]

...Yeah, same but you don't have to thank me for anything.

[That and he didn't exactly keep it together in front of those villagers earlier.]

I don't have to.

[Flynn smiles.]

But I will anyway.

[He stares at the other before looking forward again. He doesn't like to be thanked for something that should come naturally.]

Like you said we all have to help each other out or we won't get anywhere.
