Characters: All the Heroes of Light and their Moogles.
Where: Order's Sanctuary, The Interdimensional Rift and their Homeworlds.
When: August 03rd - August 30th

Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! [Sadly, Sephiroth isn't quite out of earshot when the girl starts yelling out. Being a resident of this particular reality, and her reaction to the sounds of the monster upstairs, wasn't exactly inspiring at all. That said, he had stopped and looked back over his shoulder at her while she tries to get Duster's attention.

Meantime, soft bootfalls continue to carry Sephiroth in a direction -away- from the end of the building he figured the monster was hiding. Hanging around here is going to get them in trouble, for sure.]

SNOWPEAK.

[personal profile] fusedshadows 2016-08-17 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Why did it have to be snow? Even though it was a place that she did not recognize, Midna knew from the first moment they'd arrived that this was Hyrule, thanks mostly to the fact that her old magic was restored... and her skills from Crystallis were all but inaccessible. She shivered in the wind, but up ahead...

"Look, there's some kind of shelter," a mansion? "Let's go."

ARBITER'S GROUNDS. ( MIRROR CHAMBER )

[personal profile] fusedshadows 2016-08-17 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
At long last, she had all three scattered pieces of the mirror. Of course without Link's help things had been a bit more... difficult, but her companions had proved themselves useful enough up until this point. All she could do was thank the powers that be that her teleportation was back to what it used to be. "Through here," she instructed, floating through the air and in towards the inner chamber. She was so close she could taste it, only a few meters away.

She paused just in front of what appeared to be an altar, with a singular piece placed in the mirror's setting. Lifting a hand in front of her, the other three pieces they had collected appeared in her hand, hovering silently, as the sound of a sword becoming unsheathed echoed behind her.

And out from the darkness, she finally saw him... "L-Link!"

[It felt weird being out on her own without Tseng. Or Reno or Rude for that matter. For as long as she could remember they always worked in pairs. But every once in a while they were sent out for simple missions, recon or pick up of goods. She had been assigned to do a quick inspection of the broken Mako reactor in Gongaga to ensure that there was no Lifestream acti activity. It certainly wasn't the best of missions, but it was simple and hardly dangerous, so it only required one resource.

She was never a fan of the Gold Saucer with its loud noises and bright lights. Elena was happy to be moving on, even at this late hour. The brilliance of the entertainment capital dulled as she moved into the mountain range that separated it from Nibelheim. It was mostly dark now, despite the moon overhead, and though her eyes had mostly adjusted the shadows that were played by overhanging trees. What she couldn't give to be able to use a helicopter or other means of transportation. But with the fall of ShinRa, they worked hard to keep a low profile. Flying overhead in a clearly marked vehicle was the exact opposite of subtle.

She doesn't initially see the figure at first, not through the tall fauna that sought to keep her from progressing forward. Its as she pushes nosily through its leaves - because who exactly would she be coming across anyway? - that she sees him. What little there is of him that she can see. His features are hidden by the large hand and frame by the cloak]

...Excuse me.

[Something doesn't feel right and her right hand instinctively moved to her hip, fingers brushing against the firm grip of the firearm just beneath her jacket. Call it paranoia perhaps. But when was it normal to find a cloaked and hooded person in the middle of nowhere?]

I think I might have gotten myself turned around...

[She takes another step closer, her face light and warm, a mask of friendliness. If it was just some traveling stranger, she didn't want to raise any alarm.]

Can you point me in the direction of Gongaga?

Me? Ah... yes, I suppose you might say that.

He never really talked much about where he's from. Weird. If I lived in a place like this, I'd never shut up about it!

[Levy's not really privy to Ales' checkered past, although she does know about his distaste for magic. Maybe that's what he doesn't like about it.]

Spencer will just stay right there with Ophelia on her perch for the time being -they've grown close due to story time and the nerd-mog wants to comfort and be comforted. It's what moogles do with so much more ease than their human partners do.

Sephiroth stopped a reasonable distance from Vincent that was both within a polite range for conversation but also so that he didn't jeopardize any of his field of view around and behind the other man. Sharp eyes quickly picked over Vincent's condition, in particular the raggedy parts of his mantle that had been something else entirely when he'd morphed into Chaos. The silver warrior had never seen Chaos, despite the trip back into Vincent's memories that he'd taken before.

But then he hadn't expected to have seemingly exploded a star out of the sky, either.

"There wasn't much time to gain much of an impression, but it didn't ring any recognition with me at least. Nor Spencer." To be true the little guy had been quite like Ophelia; yet more shaking than clinging to him when they'd been in that other place.

"I think it's safe to say that we were, and might still be, somewhere within the Interdimensional Rift."

Aw, look, more losers who haven't given up yet.

[One of the men - apparently the leader - steps forward to meet the Heroes' challenge, rapping his pipe against his hand.]

Get 'em! Show 'em the meaning of despair!

[The three rush forward all at once, the one with the brass knuckles slipping and falling on the ice. The other two manage to avoid it well enough and continue their approach. The one with the knife strikes out at Johnny - he's the biggest one here and probably the best fighter, after all. And the one with the lead pipe heads for Meredy. Maybe he's got a thing for bullying little girls, who knows. They're outnumbered badly, but they honestly don't seem to care.]

"Wow."

It sounds like an underwhelming response to anyone who doesn't know Chiaki, but from the way she's got her fists balled up and is leaning forward to get a better look at everything, it's clear she's pretty excited. She waits for Jack to go in first, but she follows after him very quickly, walking immediately toward the computer terminals.

"Is this where you work, Jack?"

Eh, it's a living. It's no weirder than other stuff that goes on in this place.

[Twilight's Castle is like a TARDIS, but Pinkie deftly leads Levy towards the doors where she throws them open.

Inside is a majestic library with comfy seating, and books piled high on almost any known subject. In the corner is a huge contraption with an ornate mirror sitting in the middle of it. A glowing portal stood there, a book pulsing in a little alcove atop it.]

And here we are! This is Twilight's new Library. You can find all sorts of neat things, shelved Alphabetically last time I checked. Oh, and that's the Mirror Portal, it leads to the Human World where Sunset Shimmer is. I guess Starlight and Spike are out at the moment.

"That's right! A super party is just waiting for you." Added Cheese.

The Crystal Room

[personal profile] confidentia 2016-08-18 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
( I - The Crystal Room )

[ Upon entering the portal, the Heroes find themselves locked within a circular chamber - at least a general check will indeed reveal there is no doors to be seen on either of the intricately decorated walls.

That’s hardly the biggest oddity. Floating in the very heart of the room is a Crystal not unlike the ones the group has already seen in Crystallis. Although the massive, cog-shaped pedestal atop of which it’s situated keeps the Crystal out of reach, the entity appears to be otherwise aware of the intruders’ presence, if the constant flickering of the crimson light is anything to go by.

Those who decide to get closer might even get to hear its voice, light and feminine, feeling like a faint whisper in their ears. ]

Thine fate has been sealed when thou refused to adhere to the Will.

[ As soon as it fades, so does the glow, and the fiery warmth gives way to the cold of a dungeon. While at this point it might really seem there’s no way out, there’s one person among the Heroes that seems to know more than he initially let on.

Ace hurriedly walks over the other side of the chamber with the confidence of somebody who knows exactly what they’re looking for, and soon, he finds it. The outline of the portal on the floor is faint against the darkness, only to light up when the boy steps in it. Regarding the rest of the group with a stern expression, he releases a breath that's a little more shaky than it's supposed to be. It's difficult to find relief in familiar sights with the knowledge of what they might hold, and yet.... ]

Come! The Vermilion Peristylium is normally off-limits, so we aren't meant to stay here, especially if the Crystal stops supplying the portals with energy. I... I'm not sure what we will find beyond this point, but we need to move while this one is still accessible.

"She wants to be right. Were incompetent Heroes, remember? If we do have good ideas and if we can defeat her in battle, that doesn't mean we know how to track her down. Its a neverending test, only one that she has no plan for if we eventually succeed."

Ales looked out at the white expanse calmly. If he knew more of her point of view, he could chime in with his opinion on how much in the right she was. There were good points and bad, but communication was the problem.

[As the two girls talk, they draw the attention from nearby forest dwellers. Fat, red birds hop onto the overhanging branches to investigate the strange beings that showed up in the Glade. Humans don't exist in this world, and while Levy and Lydia resemble fairies, they aren't flying. What fairy doesn't fly?

A faint pattering of footsteps are head on the stone walkway leading to the Heart of the World, and the birds disperse with a loud, squawk. When the girls turn towards the noise, three figures hop to the neighboring bushes.

Ales silently wishes they would shut up and crawls on his belly in the opposite direction of the Heart.

[A few long minutes later Squall follows with a slight stumble as he comes through the portal to see his feet land on familiar granite floors. He looks up as panic and amazement start to roll in his stomach.

He was in the Quad? Home? Was this really happening...?

Squall's eyes land on Selphie sitting on the stage.]

Is this real...?

[There's a real sense of relief washing over him but also an uncertain feel of anxiety. If this was a farce or dream...]

[Lydia brings her hands behind her back, at ease and comfortable here. Betel-Po pokes his head out of the messenger bag to have a look. "Woah! This place looks great kupo!" and if no one stops him he'll move to come and flutter at Lydia's side.]

Maybe he's so used to it, he wanted to see other things and places.

[Lydia could relate to that. She'll notice the figures--but they might just be shy.]

There wasn't that much room on Vincent's shoulder for both mogs, so Ophelia will keep a hold of Spencer, and pull him. She trusts Vincent, and like he had in the rift, he catches them and lets them settle on his left arm. Curled against his chest and they can hide under the mantle if they need to. Spencer was a friend to them both, from story-time and from other talk, and this is a way Vincent is willing to give comfort to them both.

"Given the file on Palitutu's computer, that's a likely assumption. I would venture this is Order's Sanctuary, given the surroundings." A pointed look to the edges of the area, where they can make out hints of the Manikins waiting.

"There is no other way to return a dragon a its original form... unless you kill it," the way she said it, it was like she'd practised it for a long time, like something she might have said to herself over and over. But even then, the words still felt bitter as they seeped from her lips.

But Sorey, you... you had given her that last chance to believe it could be anything else, even as slim as a chance as she knew it was all along. She wanted to cry out, felt herself choking on the words what about our promise! but let them die in her throat instead.

Edna turned then, positioning herself in a way that turned her back to them both, just barely glimpsing Mikleo's way as she did. "It's okay," she said, directing it at him, "there's nothing anyone can do about it. I've always known it was true, he's nothing but a monster now."

So why... did it sound like she was still somehow trying to convince herself?
