Event || Revelations

Characters: All the Heroes of Light and their Moogles.
Where: Order's Sanctuary, The Interdimensional Rift and their Homeworlds.
When: August 03rd - August 30th

Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! Please refer to the OOC Post for questions and plotting.

[ It might be a mistake for him to be as honest as he is but there's no way Mikleo can lie to someone that he spent his life with. Especially, when that familiar face has been absent for a few centuries on top of the time he spent at Crystallis. As bizarre as it all seems, Mikleo doesn't falter in his tone as he explains the situation to Sorey. Of all the people he had known, he trusted that Sorey would take his words seriously.

Mikleo wasn't the type to tell lies after all and sometimes he's even more brutally honest than Sorey was. Yes, they did succeed at the cost of the Shepherd. Though, he still believed that one day Sorey would be able to wake up from that slumber and traverse the future world with him but that wouldn't be for a long time.

That's right, they have to keep going forward where they are right now. The future will come when it comes. There's no time for them to sit idly while Heldalf was still on the loose, and the Malevolence is getting stronger. The longer they stood here, the more anxious Mikleo becomes, feeling the air being poisoned by the negative energy. ]

I know that we must stop Heldalf, but there are more pressing matters at hand that include Heldalf. We can't be certain that he won't try anything with the influx of people who are unaware of the malevolence.

[ He nods his head a moment with a long pause before adding. ]

Right, let's not waste anymore time. I can fill you in on everything else while we move around.

[ Silently though, he was thanking Sorey for believing him and agreeing with what he has to say, even if he knows that it is inevitable. ]

[In all honesty, it would be way too strange if Mikleo started lying to him. They'd always told each other the truth and Sorey was used to that. There had never been any reason for them to hold back as they were growing up and if anything, they were often the ones left in the dark by others. It was them who had to figure things out from the beginning when they couldn't simply have all the answers.

So he wants Mikleo to be honest with him now and Sorey will try not to ask any questions that would force the seraphim to lie. That might not be a perfect situation but it's just how things are at the moment. Maybe one day Mikleo will be able to tell him everything. Though the events of his future are something Sorey will have gone through for himself so he won't be entirely dependent on Mikleo's words.

And since Mikleo wasn't the sort to tell lies - especially not to him, that's exactly the reason why Sorey believes him. This isn't exactly the time to be making up stories if they weren't true. The situation could truly get out of hand if he didn't take it seriously. His destiny will have to be put on hold for a little while longer.]

We also can't let him escape to this other world so that he can attempt to corrupt it with malevolence. Do you think you can point out others who came from Crystallis while we search for the rifts?

[Sorey can practically sense the gratitude rolling off his friend and he moves forward to put a comforting but reassuring hand on Mikleo's shoulder. He gives the seraphim a smile, not a carefree one but a genuine one just the same.]

And hey, if there's anytime you think you shouldn't talk about something - just do what Lailah does!

[Meaning he should change the subject to one that's completely off-topic from what they're discussing. Make it so glaringly strange that Sorey knows they shouldn't continue to question it.]

[ Mikleo is fine answering the questions. They aren't that big of a deal, even if he's aware that the future might change because of it. This was the past, and he was in the present. This time period was something that existed a long while ago for him. It might be better to help Sorey that way, but he wanted the other to find his own answers without having to rely on what Mikleo thinks, even if Sorey usually agrees with him.

He honestly feels a lot better no that a weight has lifted from his chest. He didn't want to keep pretending that he didn't know anything when he clearly knew about it all and more. It seemed that way but Mikleo does feel a tad guilty for asking Sorey to assist him in the matter that he thinks he can handle on his own, yet he remembers that they all agreed not to do things on their own. That means he has to rely on Sorey and the others for what he needs to get done even if it's a little. ]

No. That would be disastrous. The Calamity as we know it is already eating away at Crystallis. If Heldalf gets involved, the world will be consumed by malevolence and the calamity.

[ He replied with a nod. Strangely enough, the crystallization is similar to that of malevolence. It keeps spreading. THe only thing they can't do is purify it. Mikleo wished he could though. It would make everything a lot easier. ]

Yes, I can. I'm quite aware of the faces, even if I do not speak with them.

[ It's a strange thing to say but it is something he's grown accustomed to was recognizing faces of Heroes of Light. ]

I'm fine. I won't hide anything from you. The only difference is how it will affect the future from this point on. Me being here is already a breach of time and space.

[ He adds. He would very much like to do what Lailah does but he's not Lailah. He'll never do it. He'll just straight up answer. ]

[The time is already changed due to the arrival of Mikleo and the other Heroes but hopefully not too badly. If they were successful in defeating Heldalf and purifying Maotelus than Sorey doesn't want that future to change. After all, that was the goal the whole time since becoming Shepherd even if he didn't know all of the details that would lead him here. But things are obviously different already and there's no helping that so they'll just have to do the best they can to ensure that everything goes as hoped.

Neither of them were all that good at keeping secrets from each other so he knows that Mikleo was probably worried about it. Burdened by this knowledge he had that he might not be able to share it in its entirity with Sorey. Just like he should know that Sorey would have volunteered himself (and the others would come too) in order to help Mikleo. It was only something he could do if he put aside his Shepherd's quest for a brief period of time.]

Right. We wouldn't want to make things harder for you there. If it comes down to it, we can stop Heldalf from getting to Crystallis by purifying him here. That'll be our last option, though.

[This way they could all still rely on Sorey to help them out while he could. If it wasn't enough then the only thing they could do was to stop the malevolence at its source and the others would have to handle the rest without him.

A quick nod of his head.] Good. Point them out to me and I'll tell them what's happening here.

[It's only natural that Sorey is used to speaking for Mikleo at this point - especially to most humans. So it doesn't occur to him that Mikleo might be able to talk to them for himself.]

Just don't feel like you have to, okay? I understand.

[Really, he does. Things are changed but a lot of time could have passed for Mikleo after Sorey became a vessel, so much could have happened that he and the others aren't even aware of yet.]

You should tell me all about the ruins of Crystallis, though. How many have you seen? What are they like? Did you find any artifacts there?

[ It won't change the future if they go with the path that leads them to the future in which Mikleo is from. Honestly, it's hard to decipher right now but Mikleo doesn't doubt that everything will fall into place. There's no time to think negatively about what will happen. They have to worry about the here and now and that means keeping Heldalf at bay and preventing the Heroes of Light from becoming prey to the hellions shrouded in malevolence.

No they weren't and yes he's worried about that fact but at the same time, there's no point in keeping secrets if they're going to assist with the matter at hand. Perhaps putting all the heads together will help get things back on track and fix all the problems that are coming in from Crystallis. He honestly, doesn't know for sure if that's even the case anymore. The foreign space he got transported to seemed to be part of but not part of Crystallis. ]

If Crystallis gets destroyed, then we'll lose even the smallest hope of saving our worlds. It isn't just about Glenwood but various other worlds that exist outside of our own being subjected to the same cruel fate.

[ He tightened his hand at his side when he tries to explain that. He remembers the purpose of why he and the others are called to Crystallis. That purpose still needs to be served. Honestly, it feels very reassuring that he doesn't have to bear that burden on his own. It's easier to share it. ]

Alright. That can work.

[ He doesn't know if they can see him now that he's got his abilities back. ]

They're rather fascinating, rich with history. They're rather old dating to the time of the Ancients. There's anything from historic structures to temples. There were a lot of artifacts that I could not take with me but they were beautiful.

[ On that note, he seems to have some more spark in him as he pulls out a large notebook from his bag. He hands it to Sorey. Each page in the notebook had a sketch that Mikloe had done on his own of the ruins and artifacts. Next to them were neat handwritten notes history that he either found from walking around the ruins to the library in which he researched the information. ]

[Who knows what will happen now that Mikleo's past has suddenly been changed! Maybe everything will or maybe nothing will - they'll just have to deal with whatever may come. But that won't stop Sorey from dealing with one problem at a time. First comes the Heroes and the dimensional rifts, that's all. Depending on how long it takes, their future could change drastically from what Mikleo remembers. There's no helping that, though.

At that information, Sorey frowns. Here he is worried about saving Glenwood and possibly the rest of their world and Mikleo's got the fate of not just their world but many others as well. He trusts Mikleo to do his best in that endeavor but he also has this overhwhelming desire to lend his strength. This is probably how his friend felt back when Sorey denied having Mikleo become his Sub Lord. Chances are there's nothing Sorey can do from this end to help otherwise there would be no need to draw in others from different worlds. His mouth opens to say something in response but then abrupty closes it. It's not wise to casually toss around promises or declarations that he would find a way to help without more information - not even to Mikleo.

So he settles for saying something else.] That's terrible. What... or who is so powerful that so many worlds could be threatened?

[Mikleo called it the Calamity but they've both learned that there was a driving force behind it here in their world - maybe the same is true in Crystallis.

Sorey hangs on to every word spoken about ruins from another world - eyes bright and shiny with wonder that only increases the moment Mikleo produces a notebook. The instant its laid in his hands, he has the pages over - reading and taking in the design of the drawings. He starts to walk and read at the same time because they do still have to keep moving.] This is great, Mikleo! I almost feel like I was there!

[Oh hey, he's about to trip over a rock....]

[ Honestly, having nothing change would be much better for Mikleo. He didn't want to have his memories are screwed because he was running around aware of everything. It would definitely be really strange and confusing. At least, confusing enough to hurt his head. Hopefully things won't change too terribly. He's more or less accepting the fact that memories can be tampered with because he's here but it doesn't mean he can't worry about it in the meantime.

He's going to do his best for himself and for everyone around him as well. He had his own world to rescue along with many others. He'd feel rather relieved if he could save everyone. He wouldn't feel so burdened by it. Certainly, whatever decisions are made, people's worlds are at risk and sometimes not one choice can save everyone. He still wants to be optimistic about the whole thing. He wants to believe he can save everyone.

Mikleo notices that he wants to say something but he doesn't. He won't ask since he knows when his friend wants to, he'll ask him. He can share his more fond memories of Crystallis with his friend. That was what he intended to do from the start. The whole purpose for this hard bound notebook with so much drawings and writing was for Sorey. It made him feel as if his friend was with him throughout these experiences. ]

I'm not entirely certain who is the exact cause, but we have some leads on certain individuals being involved, one being the woman that had pulled some of the other Heroes and myself over seven months ago. The Calamity continues to eat the cities and people are still dying. We have yet to find an actual way to stop it or prevent it from spreading.

[ He wished he knew the answer to that but with all the things he learned so far, the person in charge was still a long journey away. He'll never know at this point. Mikleo's brows knit together as he tries to think about everything. ]

[ Mikleo quietly follows him with his arms crossed about his chest as they walked and talked. It seemed like the best bet. ]

I did good didn't I?

[ He replied giving the other a smirk before grabbing a Sorey's shoulder to stop him before he trips over that rock. ]

Hey watch where you're going while reading that. You can't be too engrossed in it, Sorey.

[It would be better for all of them if only the smallest changes happened. While it might be the future for some of them, it seems like Mikleo's version of events was exactly what Sorey was going for. Either way there isn't a whole lot they can do at this point but try to minimize the damage done.

Sorey believes in Mikleo and he'll believe in everyone else who was brought there too even if he's never even met them. That's all he can really do for the moment besides trying to help them uncover any secrets or maybe a solution to the problem they're facing. And anything he can do to make sure the Heroes get back there and not stuck here.

Maybe eventually he'll tell Mikleo what he was going to say. Right now he doesn't have enough information on the situation... or if Sorey would even be able to pull it off. He's seriously torn by this idea and so he holds back until he can be certain of himself. It isn't a choice that can be made lightly, after all. So they'll both have to wait before Sorey feels he can say what he wanted to say in this moment.

Even as he looks through the journal, he's listening to Mikleo at the same time.]

So the Calamity is the reason for you coming back here with others from Crystallis? Or was it something else? What were you doing before these rifts opened?

[In response to his friend's question of how good he did, Sorey has a very enthusiastic nod happening that definitely looks strange considering he isn't taking his eyes away from the notebook.

However his multitasking is halted when Mikleo suddenly grabs his shoulder. Only then does he lift the book to look down at the ground at his feet and the rock he certainly would have tripped over. He gives his friend a sheepish look and laughs a little while he does it.]

Oops. Guess I shouldn't be reading and walking around here. [If it were Elysia or the surrounding areas he would have no trouble navigating around without looking down but the terrain is unfamiliar.

He closes the notebook with a snap and holds it out to Mikleo.] Here, you better hold on to this until we stop somewhere for the night.

[ Minimizing the damage seems to be the only thing they can do right now without altering all the things that will happen in the future. He sure hopes he won't be completely tripped out when his memories are messed with. He'll just trust himself for the time being and go with what he thinks is best for everyone and himself.

He really wants to be optimistic about it and believe that they'll pull through. After all. they were able to save Glenwood from Heldalf. They're trying to find and fight a completely different entity right not but they can't be too different from what he's used to. He won't prod the other for answers. He'll let it go and Sorey can tell him when he's ready and when they have more information. ]

I'm not entirely sure Crystallis is involved. The place we were taken to is a completely different realm from Crystallis. It's a rift that shouldn't have existed, but is there. It has a similar feeling to that of-- Hexen Isle.

[ He paused for a moment trying to recall what he did before this. ]

I was working at the cafe coming up with their new menu. I was making a parfait, but someone already ate it before I could finish it.

[ Selphie. Not that he was against it. The girl looked at him like her life was dependent on the parfait. Don't laugh like that Sorey, you could have hurt yourself and he's totally not okay with this. ]

Probably not if you're going to forget everything around you.

[ He takes the book from Sorey. ]

Alright, let's find an inn and recuperate for the time being. Perhaps, we'll meet up with the others-- unless they're with you.

[They'll do whatever they can to keep the changes to a minimum. He's pretty glad that there isn't a second Mikleo hanging out inside of him or things would definitely get complicated. Sorey doesn't even want to think about what could happen if they touched or something.

For the moment he turns his thoughts away from what his friend has to do in Crystallis and focuses his attention on what is currently happening in Glenwood. Though he does think that they should get Mikleo back to the other world just in case the seraph's presence is needed there. How the other will take that idea, Sorey can already guess.]

It can't be our world. You would have already gone through all of it, wouldn't you? [His head is starting to hurt from thinking about all of this.] Where?

[Mikleo... he's never been to Hexen Isle. They haven't even made it out of Camlann's broken village yet or been anywhere near Heldalf yet.]

A cafe? Really? Well, your cold desserts are the best.

[Sorey is totally laughing on the inside to the point where it shows on his face in a grin. At least he's giving up that notebook willingly, he could have tried to keep it. Though he knows when to put aside his burning curiosity and be focusing on other things.]

You should've known better than to let me have it in the first place.

[A gentle ribbing as he reaches out to poke Mikleo in the side.]

Mikleo. We're closer to home than to an inn. We can just stay there for the night and figure out where to go from there.

[ That's all they can do and that's fine. No matter what happens, he's going to accept it as it is and not let it affect him too much. Mikleo is glad for that too but at the same time he wondered what it'd be like to talk to himself in that manner. At least, for now he doesn't have to think about it. He has to keep going forward and searched for the entity that brought them here. ]

Yes, more or less. There is a lot that you have yet to experience. I am uncertain if I should talk about them right now.

[ He let that slipped without realizing didn't he? How did he explain Hexen Isle? ]

It's place here in Glenwood that were transported to, with a similar feeling to the rifts that appeared back in the place I was in. Some sort of rift was opened due to the mass concentration of malevolence. We met two people there from different worlds.

[ That's as basic as he can explain it and he'll just keep it at that. ]

Yes. they were short staffed. I was exchanging letters with the previous owner before she had fallen in the Crystal Stasis.

[ He fought the urge not to slap a hand over his face for that comment. It's because he always had to make them for Sorey because that was all he knew as a kid! Damn you for not eating correctly. Mikleo just crosses his arms as he stares at Sorey with a displeased expression on his face for laughing. ]

I was hoping you'd have more self control. I suppose I shouldn't have expected it huh?

[ He gives up with you Sorey only now that he just got jabbed at the side. ]

[ He jumps at the contact. In return he's going to jab him back. ]

Right, Elysia is on the other side of Camlann.

[ Man he's rusty. There had been too much on his mind and he totally didn't think about it when he said that. That was embarrassing to say the least. ] Yeah, perhaps we can check in with everyone in Elysia.

[It might be Mikleo overdose if there were two of him. Twice as many Mikleos for Sorey to get excited with, twice as many Mikleos for Edna to make fun of... (and if there are two Mikleos there'd be two Ednas too, consider that). Really they're better off with only one of each person.]

So whoever is responsible has to be from Crystallis. [He does consider what his friend has to say about this Hexen Isle as well.] Maybe they were able to create the rift here because all of the malevolence made it easier if that happens in the future.

[Good thing Sorey kind of lets that story of the future roll right off him. There is no attempt to probe deeper into what world they go to or who they meet.

Though Sorey does look curious at the words:] Crystal Stasis? What's that? It's nice of you to help them out.

[Mikleo's comment about exchanging letters is also something he thinks over. He remembers when his friend explained that seraphs could put mana into objects so humans can see them but Mikleo has never done it before as far as he knows. Of course he doesn't instantly jump to the conclusion that humans can see seraphim in the other world because it hasn't been brought up.]

Hey, it was too good to pass up!

[Information about ruins in another world, it's the worst kind of temptation there is for him.

He expects the jab back and with that it is on. Sorey is now turning this into a competition of who can poke the other more.]

Try not to look shocked when they aren't too surprised to see us. We were there recently. [A gentle reminder.]

[ That's true. There's too many paradoxes to consider on top of that. What would it be like to meet his past self now? That'd definitely be really weird and trippy on its own. Two Ednas would not sit well with him since one of her was more than enough to handle. Two of them would make him have nightmares. He'll have to pass on that. ]

Most likely, or something connecting Crystallis and the Heroes of Light to the rift.

[ He replies with a nod of his head when Sorey speaks to confirm what he's saying. ]

Perhaps, but that isn't an explanation that every world can go by. I believe that all the rifts lead to different worlds. They must have something there that is attracting them to creating the rift.

[ Makes it easier for Mikleo honestly. It would take a while to explain every single detail to Sorey. He'll keep it as brief as he can since Sorey's focused on the rifts and Crystallis instead of Glenwood. ]

It's-- I suppose it's more like a device in which encases Heroes of Light for a period of time when they fall ill. It's suppose to help restore them and such things like resurrection is possible due to the abilities of the world. Death is but a typical thing in the world since you can revive. Sometimes people are held in the Crystal Stasis for such a long time that they'll never awaken.

I suppose. It isn't that difficult of a job.

[ He replies not really too over emotional about it. It is what it is. He works hard to help others to the best of his abilities. ]

Doesn't mean you can be careless, Sorey.

[ Yeah, yeah he knows but voice of reason. Voice. OF. Reason. Mikleo is fighting him off to the best of his abilities as he continues to jab the other back through their conversation. So much for seriousness with these two dorks. ]

I am aware.

[ He replies after a few breaths. ] I won't do anything careless.

[What would his younger self think to meet a supposed future version? That is the real question. With doubles they could have easily thought it was an illusion created by Symmone and future!Mikleo knows how well that's going to go over in the group's future - doubles of them. And well, yeah. Double Ednas is a bit much.

One of Sorey's hands goes to his chin as he thinks over all that he knows about his world and Crystallis. With only limited information on the other world, there's only one common factor between all of the worlds.]

Well, there is something that brought you all to Crystallis originally, right? That means there must have been a rift you all traveled through to get there in the first place. A pathway doesn't just go in one direction - you can travel on it in either direction. If it can pull you in, it can push you back. I mean, it didn't open up to a bunch of other worlds that no one came from, did it?

[Not yet so his theory does make sense. His hand curls into a fist and he thumps it into the palm of his other hand.]

So if you can figure out if that's the problem, you can try to find a way to fix it!

[Brilliant in theory but not so easy to perform, he knows but Mikleo can get his head around it better than some others. Maybe it'll work and maybe it won't but all they can really do is try.]

That's... [Actually that bit of information kind of makes the air in his lungs rush out all at once.] So you get sick and you get encased in a device, you die and it does the same - it can restore a person but also keep them in a deep sleep?

[He isn't entirely sure he likes the concept behind this device.]

Are you only making cold desserts or have you been attempting hot ones too?

[Plz do not be poisoning people with what are supposed to be warm desserts, Mik.]

I know, I know. Sorry.

[There are just times when Mikleo has to be the voice of reason because Sorey's is too engrossed with whatever happens to be on his mind at the time. In the meantime he is going for all of Mikleo's weak spots with his fingers.]

Just wanted to remind you. It might've been a while for you but they saw you not too long ago.

[ Double of any of them might be a bit of headache for all of them. He's not going to think about that right now even if the idea sounds cool. He's a 100% sure that his past self will think it's some sort of crafted illusion by Symmone like Sorey is thinking. He really can't have that being something that will mess with his memories. ]

Yes, but we were shot somewhere else by something. Our Crystals are not functioning correctly. One of my companions stated that there was something wrong with them and people were dying right before her eyes and not being able to revive. Something is seriously wrong with this picture and I can't seem to put my finger on the whole ordeal.

[ As Mikleo says that his brows knit visibly together proving how serious and frustrated he was about the whole situation. He wants to find answers but the more he searches, the more questions come up. He's still minorly bothered by the fact that he was spaced out during the whole Palitutu ordeal. ]

Yes, it can push you back but we don't know if we get sent back or into another world. I'm afraid that is something that can be possibly given the power that is working right now. It's an entity that's quite capable of anything at this point. Yes, to put it simply, but you know it won't be as easy as it sounds.

[ as most things are. Mikleo wishes he can solve things quickly but it's kind of tiring right now with questions left and right. ]

I've been studying the sickness but I can't seem to find out what is causing it. Sometimes, people just fall victim to it out of nowhere without warning. I know that-- Zaveid was one of the few that has fallen within the Crystal Stasis. Yes. Heroes of Light can be resurrected as long as the Crystals are active. The stasis is a catalyst to maintain that balance.

[ Not the one that's hanging around them right now obviously. He really doesn't want to try to explain that right now. ]

I haven't attempted to bake. Lailah has offered to teach me but I have not the time-- at least with the amount of things that happen in that world.

[ He hasn't poisoned anyone! Thanks! Stop being a jerk about it Sorey. He's not that careless. ]

It's fine. As long as you know. We'll have some down time back in Elysia to go over it. Just make sure you rest.

[ He's going to jump when those places get touched and he's going to keep returning the favor too hitting the same spots too. Don't test him Sorey, he's going to be really competitive with this since it's been a long time and he misses this. A lot. ]
