Event || Revelations

Characters: All the Heroes of Light and their Moogles.
Where: Order's Sanctuary, The Interdimensional Rift and their Homeworlds.
When: August 03rd - August 30th

Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! Please refer to the OOC Post for questions and plotting.

Dimensional travel really wasn't anything new to Sheena--she had done it before even coming to Crystallis and encountering Palitutu. Dimensional gates had linked Tethe'alla and Sylvarant, making travel possible between the two worlds for those who needed to. Clear destination with every trip.

Not like now, traveling through the Interdimensional Rift. And the name explained why. You really had no clue exactly where you would wind up.

But this time, the moment Sheena stepped out of the portal, she knew exactly where they were, and she stopped, causing Corrine to fly into her as she stiffened while a power and presences she hadn't felt for a long time returned to her. Seeing a well-traveled dirt road before her, she followed it with her eyes, smiling when she saw the two-story building it led to, looking like a hut out in the wilderness in its solitude. Whirling about, she grinned at the others.

"Guys! We're on my world! We're on Tethe...Aselia!"

Sheena was so happy to be back home that she hadn't even noticed if there were those other than who traveled with her in the area. Kind of a bad move on her part, since she really should be on the lookout for those who know her, so she could dodge them and avoid any confusion later with herself that was already here.

And that was what she was focusing on--finding out the date so she would know the other her's movements.

Besides, what were the chances that she'd run into someone she knew as soon as she appeared here? Especially one who had been on Crystallis before?

"Is that who I think it is?"

Strange, he thinks, that Sheena would be in here after what he just heard from her a few days ago. It's strange that he'd be here, too, and yet out steps the Chosen of Tethe'alla. With both hands on his hips, his eyes scan from Sheena to whoever she's brought behind her.

"What's going on?"

"Uh oh."

Sheena cringes inwardly at being discovered so quickly. Man, some ninja stealth there. At least he hadn't greeted her by one of his nicknames for her. She'd probably have to bodily block Albel from charging at him.

Turning around, she greets Zelos with a nod. "Yeah... Well, actually, yes and no." She sighs. "We need to talk--somewhere no one else can hear."

The Houses aren't exactly hubs of activity, but just even one other person is too much.

"Talk? Man, that sounds ominous."

Thankfully, Zelos is in more of a serious mindset right now himself. Things are happening around the world that are making people freak out, and currently, he's still useful in solving problems. He's been working closely with the King and Sheena, and so he was here on business— but it seemed odd that she'd show up here out of nowhere.

He's wary, because of it. But it's not like it doesn't seem like Sheena. Placing one hand on his hip, he looks back into the house before gesturing for her (and whoever she'd like to take) to follow.

"Come on, I'll take us somewhere private." With that, he'll lead the way to the room upstairs.

Albel stepped closer to Sheena protectively. It had become habit.

"Is this a friend of yours?" he asked her quietly. There didn't appear to be any hostility, at least not yet. But he noticed her cringe, her embarrassment -- and who hadn't heard that Uh oh? He'll follow her closely while Zelos leads the way, but he'll be watching the other man with suspicion.

Lydia had stayed quiet through it all, aside from the occasional question or comment. It seems her Jobs remained active, being most prominently indicated by her lack of shadow and complete silence in everything she did. She'd had to get more used to being sneaky, being on Crystallis. But Sheena was nice, when they had interacted, and had treated her well and not like a child. (That last part was the most important.)

She'd been curious to see her world, but she wasn't blind to the problems it might cause. Traveling between worlds was something she was used to, even if time-travel wasn't usually a factor. Time moved mostly the same (mostly) between the normal world and the Neitherworld after all.

At this point she stepped up, hoping to let Sheena and her partner have some discretion. "Thank you. She found us as we've been on a long and complicated journey. It's..." Pausing, even as she smiled up and kept her hands where the other could see them. "It's top secret, and hard to explain, and so we really appreciate the privacy."

Sheena didn't treat Lydia like a child for one simple fact: she didn't see her as one. Unfortunately, she hadn't had time to inform her about Zelos and his powers of observation. Because really? Knowing the chest size of every woman in the world? That takes some serious observational skills.

So, seeing a lack of shadow beneath her won't be hard for him to miss--even if she is being diplomatic.

Turning to Albel, she nods. "Yeah, he's a friend, but I trust him." She'll explain about that "uh oh" later. Right now, she'll follow the Chosen and lead the others, leaving the introductions until they get to the room. Taking a deep breath, she begins.

"Okay, Zelos, like she said, this is a secret and can't go past this room--you can't even mention it to me the next time you see me."

Hard to explain really doesn't cover it.

Of course he notices it all. The lack of shadow, the quiet words from this guy he doesn't recognize, and the strange way Sheena is acting, too. It all seems off, especially when he hadn't spoken to her too long ago. She was supposed to be somewhere else.

So, something's off. He has half the mind to ask if she's really Sheena, but nothing about her behavior seems particularly wrong, so there's no point in calling her out.

Here in the room, he makes sure the door is closed and turns to face the group with his hands on his hips, glancing between all of them. "Sure, sure!" Despite all of the mood, Zelos sure sounds nonchalant about keeping this secret. He literally waves it off, eyes landing on Lydia.

"So is this cutie pie here right, then? You guys have been off on some top secret journey?" He looks back to Sheena. "Without me? What's with the cold shoulder, hmm? You mind explaining what's going on already?"

The beauty is, she is someplace else, and there at the same time. So, no chance of her running into herself. She hopes. She still has to find out what the date is.

And if he had had any doubts about her really being her, hopefully they were dashed by her reaction to his description of Lydia. Facepalming, she sighs. "Idiot," she mutters. "Her name is Lydia, and this is Albel. They're my friends." She tries to keep her voice neutral, but there's a certain warmth when she mentions Albel's name. He is her boyfriend, after all. Hoping to keep Zelos from noticing and avoid any comments or arguments, she plows on ahead.

"They're not from this world, Zelos. I met them on a world known as Crystallis--where I've been for over a year now. The journey we're on involves stopping someone from destroying not only that world, but others as well." So, yeah, more of that world-saving stuff going on. And since Sheena is Sheena--who is a horrible liar--especially with Zelos around--it's the frightening truth.

"Hold up, Sheena."

Ignoring all of the small things, and these two strangers, he waves his hand in the air. "A year? You're kidding, right? You've been here the whole time." He can't deny that she sounds like she's telling the truth, but he'd like this part to be explained, too! What's she doing here when she should be somewhere else, and what's she doing saying she hasn't been here all along?

Sheena sighed mentally. Yeah, she knew it wasn't going to be that easy, but still... Hope springs eternal.

Shaking her head, she gave him a solemn look. "No. I'm not kidding. You know how we were able to go from Tethe'alla and Sylvarant when they were apart? Well... This is something similar--only I had nothing to do with it. I was just taken. As for this..." And she gestured to encompass the whole area and them. "There's some time manipulation going on."

Could we say "understatement"?

Albel nodded curtly. "It is true. She has been with me -- us, on Crystallis -- for a year. We don't know how it works exactly..." He chewed his lip, not sure what else to say. Being here felt strange. Even when he left his planet, there was a better explanation -- a strange metal beast that could fly him there. Then there were the 4D creators, gods.

But these portals... soulless, coincidental existence with no significance, no meaning. They just were. That ambiguity was uncomfortable.

"Since we've obviously traveled to the past here, at least for us... we can't be discovered. The two of them meeting could destroy your world."

"Is everyone all right?" Sheena asked as they came out of the forest near the mine. The trip really hadn't been that far (as Zelos reminded her it wouldn't...), but there had been a few monsters here and there--like boars and giant wasps--and which they just might encounter again.

Good thing she had equipped her Custom Job before the battle with Ultima. Otherwise, she never would have had her seals when those powers came back to her here. Which reminded her...they needed to get some of her Cards. Just in case.

Pointing to the entrance of the mine, she said, "There's the mine up ahead. Last time I was here, there was a security system, but we took it out, so I don't think we have to worry about it anymore. You guys ready?"

[ OOC: Once reached, Altamira is the amusement park in Sheena's world. Roller coaster, ferris wheel, casino, luxury hotel by the beach...perfect place to stay while someone else gets intel...and to meet a "king". ]

"A security... system?" Albel's brow furrowed with confusion. "Like traps?"

In so many ways, Sheena's world reminded him of his own. And in so many others, it reminded him of how Fayt must have lived. The technology here was so different. "Security" where he was from, be it for a mine or anywhere else, meant actual guards.

"Wouldn't it simply be repaired?"

Sheena nodded. "Yeah, you could say there were traps."

A rather sophisticated trap right off the bat where they had to battle the systems within the doors themselves... But still a trap. At least they didn't have to worry about a spinning block coming after them at any time.

In answer to Albel's question, she shook her head. "I'm not sure. The last time I was through here before going to Crystallis, there weren't any posted. But let's be careful, just in case."

And with that, she started towards the mine entrance.

Careful, to Albel, meant preemptively drawing his blade and having it at his side as he approached the mine. His pride wouldn't let him follow behind Sheena... but he didn't know where he was going to take the lead, either. So regardless of what the others did, he stayed beside her as best he could.

Once everything had been taken care of in Mizuho, Sheena had a personal trip to make. A visit with someone she couldn't not see while she was here. And would hopefully keep her secret safe.

As they climbed the steps of the Tower of Martel (yeah, there were a lot of steps to get to the door), Sheena's pace slowed until she finally stopped at the entrance. her brows knitting together in concentration, she turned to look over her shoulder at the others.

"There's something wrong, I can feel it."

Albel frowned and lay his hand over the hilt of his katana. Sheena knew her world -- he trusted her instincts.

"I'm with you," he assured her.

It was more than her instincts kicking in. She knew something was wrong because of something she couldn't feel.

And that was Verius' mana signature.

Turning to look over her shoulder, she spoke quietly. "Be prepared for a Manikin, guys," she said before entering the Temple.

A Manikin? Here? Albel slowly drew his sword. He knew it was possible -- the portals were open to everywhere, to everyone. Once the Heroes disturbed them, anything could have followed.

More than that, Albel truly wondered at how Sheena knew. But he believed her. It was something he would have her explain later, if only because he was amazed by it. For now, he followed her, guarded. Sword at his side, but not yet raised.

Just ready.
