Summary: Following the battle against Palitutu, all the Heroes of Light were transported into the Interdimensional Rift. They were told by Palitutu they would have to find her to prove they can break the cycle-- But before they could reach their destination, a malevolent entity from the Rift stripped them from their immortality...

And now, they woke up in a decaying and dying world, most specifically in a place called Order's Sanctuary. From there they are ready to jump... Into their homeworlds! Feel free to use this post for the Mingle at Order's Sanctuary and should your homeworld be the stage for the Heroes of Lights' next adventures, feel free to make a thread for it and as many sub-thread as necessary! [Maybe he should apologize for suggesting to hide the body without a hint of remorse, but that's above Ales. Dylas is alive, who cares. He wasn't around to feel the others poke at his corpse.

Ales thumbs through a pamphlet the group picked up. Several of the human residents eyed him with the same suspicion as they did for Dylas, which (while not hostile in the Teensie's eyes) did not fail to annoy him.]

So these...monsters. They're feared by the humans, but you live here just like they do? How does that even make sense? Why are they lumped together as a group? Kelpies are not goblins, the last time I checked.

[He's not a fan of the lovey-dovey "peace and harmony" idealism, but this does strike him as odd. It would be as if the fairies from his world regarded all other races as something to fear.]

Some of them fear us. Some of them want to make movies about us. Hell, there's about...what, six million people here? More? They outnumber us. I think there's more people here than on my home world or Crystallis combined.

[It's closer to eight million, and he just can't wrap his head around that number in the slightest. They could easily just...round them all up and put them into some sort of prison, he thinks, but they never do. It's for the best, since what happens when monsters don't feed...

Well, it's not pleasant.]

It makes sense to me. There's human and monster. You can get more specific than that if you need to, but sometimes you don't have to.

Not to me. Whats so special about humans that they're all in their own group? Because they outnumber you? Teensies make up nearly half the population in my world, but you don't hear us talking about "Teensies and monsters."

[Humans are just as dumb as any other species out there. Ales met his first the day he arrived on Crystallis, but they managed to disappoint him just as anything else. All species disappoint equally.]

So if you're considered a monster, what do you call actual beasts that come out of the forest to sow chaos?

We are the monsters that come out of the forest to sow chaos. There's no difference here. You live here long enough, and...you get used to it. Really used to it.

[He means he enjoyed some parts of his life, the thrill that comes with hunting, the satisfaction that came from sating his hunger.

He sighs. He doesn't even want to look at Ales, really, they're both convinced that the other doesn't get it.]

What's so special about humans is that they usually don't eat each other, I guess. And it doesn't matter. They're right. I am a monster, even if I didn't ask for it.

So you eat each other for a living. Not a lifestyle I would live, but you do you.

[Teensies are mostly vegetarian. Dragons and wendigos are not. Unlike dragons, Dylas can hold an intelligent conversation. Therefore, Dylas is okay in Ales' eyes.]

Unless it's the sort where you have fun in watching the world burn, not in the sense that you have to survive.

[Does Ales mean "monsters eat each other" or "monsters eat humans"? Dylas wonders for a second, his ears flicking up and down but he decides not to question it. Both are true, though he gets pissed at monsters who eat other monsters. Their lives were bad enough.]

Is that a question? It's...not something you need to worry about. We need to find the portal and get out.

Just curious. There aren't any humans where I'm from, and from what I've seen, their existence shakes up the entire balance between species.

[Not to say that robots weren't looked down upon in the Glade, but race wasn't as big of a deal as the pamphlet makes it out to be.]

But enough about that. Palitutu would stand out even in a place like this. Someone must have seen her run through.

Where I was born...humans can be bad, I guess. But I lived in a village with dwarves, elves...and former monsters. Different kind of monsters, it's a long story. But we all got along alright.

[But humans are the ones building warships and flying fortresses. It's a bit hard to associate with that, though, as Dylas had considered himself human at the time, horse ears and tail aside.]

The peninsula is pretty big, but I've been keeping my ears open. Some of the men outside are talking about something weird that happened in the forest, so we'll go there tomorrow evening.

[He's already explained he can't go out when it's bright out. And there's no voices reaching the room, but every so often Dylas' ears will flick in response to the people talking four stories below them and out on the street. He missed this. Hearing is a good power to have.]

[Ales sighs through his nose, folds the pamphlet, and sticks it up his hat. If they were to be separated - or if Dylas were to die again - this would be their only guide.]

That's the tendency with forests. Always something happening in there. Quite a common place to put a portal, if I may add.

...You don't have a Heart of the World or anything here, do you?

[sullenstallion]

Nah. This isn't my world, so I guess it'd be more likely that I don't know, as much of a pain in the ass as that is.

[He's heard a thing or two about 'the heart', but he has no idea what it means. It's all forgotten.]

You should try to get some sleep. If you lag behind tomorrow, a naga might catch you.

Hah. You know, I was one of those once, too. For a few months. This place...the sooner we get out of it, the better.

Ergh.

[Turning into a naga. Turning into anything else for a few months is already a disgusting thing.]

There was a hole. And it...fit me, so I climbed into it. Magic probably made me try it, but...I felt everything. Every bone, every...change.

[Being conscious while your bones are snapped and reshaped is unpleasant.]

It's not that important. At least if we get out of here, none of this will happen to you.

That sounds...utterly pleasant.

[By which he means not at all.]

Well, as long as we don't run into hostile humans of any holes that were perfectly made for us, we'll be fine. And to tell you the truth, I never had much of an affinity towards magic. I'm sure I can resist it. All Teensies are.

You can resist magic, huh.

[Dylas sighs. He's so, so tired.]

I guess we'll be counting on you, then.

[It sounds more like "thanks for coming", but since when is he honest?]
